  1. A stray apostrophe - it was all so innocent ?
  2. I think they targeted our right side because McCallum is so much better than Odubajo, Willock and Chair like to drift left too. Its interesting that we saw little of Dickie (RCB) coming forward with the ball.
  3. Exactly. I’ve no idea how good it bad he’s gonna be but I like the theory of top club junior, goes down the leagues, wants to make it back up the ladder. I call it the Kieran Trippier model….who I saw at Burnley, on loan initially from Man City, then moving permanently there….wanting to play to show he could get back up to that level. If George is of that ilk, it bodes well. I was more than happy with him today. It uses an algorithm, I wouldn’t lay too much stock in it. Weimann (is he flappy?) got two assists and that weights his scores massively. I watched on Robinstv so cannot comment on comms between Tanner and Kalas, but I thought Kalas’s positional play in terms of supporting Tanner wasn’t great…but I can rarely fault his commitment to the cause in other aspects.
  4. He’d suck his own cock if he could wouldn’t he?
  5. Yep, shape did him no favours at all. Kalas wanted him too close to him imho, which meant McCallum had acres on their left. The few occasions Kalas pushed him onto their LWB we made them hit hopeful passes. Think we could’ve shunted the whole team across the pitch 10 yards and made it much harder for them. Just watched interview. Nice.
  6. I wouldn't say out of his depth, more, horribly exposed by our terrible shape without the ball. With the ball, pretty tidy, got a bit of pace. I don't think he really did much if any wrong. Not his lack of ability that left them with overload after overload. Good, promising debut imho.
  7. 1st half summary: Shape not right w/o the ball, need to all shift 10 yards further right....everything is down QPR's left, and too easy. They've put several good crosses in from 20-25 yards out. The couple of occasions Kalas has allowed Tanner to go tight to McCallum and then tracked Dykes / Gray himself, we've forced good, high turnovers. James having to move too far from Bakinson, We've looked good on the break, Massengo outstanding. No assist (gets a second / hockey assist)....cool from Weimann. Just need a bit more patience on the ball.
  8. I think both Pring and Massengo can come narrow and make it a three. QPR look like they've got 532....certainly two up top and both Willock and Chair. Johansen has a lot responsibility today as the sole conventional midfielder.
  9. yes, to stop McCallum, or at least support Tanner. But just me guessing. Think its a big game to: 1) bring in a debutant AND 2) expect him to do in a system that they don't play But thats just me trying to second guess. nor me using it atm
  10. The way the team is listed, I expect it to be 442/4411 again. But we will see. Its about the players at the end of the day. King has a tight thigh.
  11. He's got to wait his turn hasn't he? Others ahead of him from a "waiting for their chance" perspective....and NIge has rules!
  12. I drink it in the Congo!!!
  13. Talk of a 2 year transfer embargo too. Not so attractive ?
  14. Reminds me of skiing holidays in France and playing a dangerous game of trying not to shit in my salopettes!
  15. Suspect one problem might be that Wilder had a £4m “payoff” which might actually mean they didn’t pay him off but are still paying his wages…until someone wants him and will need to buy him out of his contract. Paying off £4m is not good for FFP.
  16. Nige said he’d had a couple of little set backs but trained fully on Tuesday.
  17. Ta….I’ve no idea who owns the ground anymore, or whether it’s part of the myriad of companies included in the administration as per the statement. Big question, who will buy the club without the ground? Agree…..I’m also grateful for his backing / sensible backing, but he’s made some big mistakes too.
  18. Ta. I’d say positionally we are doing better than expectations. Performance wise we are still mixed…but been some good ones and a couple of poorer ones. We have been “in” every game, look more physical. We’ve improved our set plays, well the ones taken with feet!!! We have scored 4 from set plays…last season we scored 5 all-season. Its far from perfect, but was it ever gonna be after losing lots of players and being hamstrung financially? What we are seeing now is probably what Nige would’ve liked to have dine last season….make us harder to beat, start from the back, etc, etc….but the squad wasn’t up for that build….so it commenced in the summer. I don’t dismiss last season, but it’s not very relevant imho, apart from delaying the “true start”. Others will disagree.
  19. Out of interest, what do you reckon SL does with the snake oil Ashton sold him?
  20. SOD built foundations admittedly, but we were near the bottom of Lg1, Nige is building foundations and has us 12th (maybe lower after today - pessimism from me) in the Champ….and we look competitive. I agree that if we were bottom in January you would raise concerns. But, really what are the chances of that on the evidence of this season? Even less so with Derby’s plight ??? You say you are willing to give him a chance, but several of your posts have a theme based on a worst case scenario, e.g. if we were bottom, to create your view. What is your best case scenario, what is your most likely scenario. What we’re your expectations before the season started?
