  4. No! One of my early heroes as a youngster I wanted to spin the ball like him or Derek Deadly Underwood. I was a leftie as well!
  5. Messrs Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais would use their favourite football players for character surnames. Take Porridge for instance. Prison staff included, Mackay, Barrowclough and Venables.
  6. If Tone moved back late 1981 or early 1982, then there's no such thing as a coincidence!
  7. Wasn't there another video from a couple of months ago where she goes to Spurs for an away game? Just like most movies, the sequel isn't as good as the original!
  8. Thanks Thanks Tone for taking the time to photo and post. My Tour prog was the complete opposite! It was a well produced history of the band publication. I have seen the Feelgoods so many times but never with Wilko. Met him once immediately after a Bierkeller gig and he signed his latest Ice On The Motorway album which I'd taken with me.
  9. If you look at my profile picture, you'll see it comes from Canvey Island's finest. I saw the Feelgoods for the first time when touring Private Practice in 1978. I bought the tour prog as well as the t shirt. I learned the hard way to never leave a prog under the seat during the gig as it might get nicked....it did. I can tell you 45 years later where I was sitting as well! I'd love to see photos of your tour programme if you have a spare minute. I saw SAHB (without Alex) around 1995. Zal Clemson on guitar and with the McKenna brothers as well. What a band. If there was a tour prog for that gig, I would have it f r a m e d! The SAHB has to be filed under S. End of!
  10. Sad to hear that about Ivor. I often wondered what was the present he received from Tom Watson after Ivor announced him for the last time.
  11. I decided to re-start the thread but with a slight name change. I agree with other posters that the original thread was not only for news but a place where we could pay our respects and give personal memories/tributes etc..

  15. That would explain it then. I was hoping that it was something sensible!
  16. I was the recipient of a new phone around the time of OTIB switching Internet suppliers or whatever it was. However, I've noticed that I can no longer find the thread which announces celebrities who have sadly passed away. I've tried to access it on my laptop as a guest but can't find the thread either. What's happened to this thread or most likely what have I done in Settings?
  17. Bamford doesn't go down like a sack of spuds or roll around as if he's auditioning for the foul of the year. He is trying to play on by getting to his feet when the ref blows. As others have said, the keeper's studs were raised (he was entitled to go for the ball and out of the area). I query the need to call PB a 'Cheat' on this occasion.
  18. What's worse is that someone in the South Stand was obviously shot by a sniper. His dying cries on the audio are being ignored as others are complaining about the non-penalty decision.
  19. Told to me by a Stokie last night. If he has a son born in Wales, he could be called Dai, son of Henry
  20. The Stoke City player Hoever is known by their fans as Henry!
  21. Not could. It should as they're from red territory!

I'm flying over for this game and staying in Stoke but travelling down with an exiled Red...and a few Stokies. It is a tradition of ours ever since we moved to Norn Iron. I used to work in Stoke as a radio presenter having moved up from Bristol. Our only son was born there and I have some great Potter friends who I'm still very much in touch with. There are 7 of us travelling down on Saturday and a pub has been booked for a pre-match meal with my Bristol mates. Stoke might be a bit of an eyesore especially Hanley (main shopping area) but the people are great. It also has the A50 (D road) which gets you out into amazing countryside in record quick time! Whilst I have a great affinity to the hyphened city, it will cease for a couple of hours from 3pm. See you at the Gate.
