  1. And the away kit shorts had a different yellow to the shirts and socks. No wonder Kenny was wound up! (in reference to our 3rd kit and the annoyance to some posters on the O'Neills thread).
  2. Dave, since when has logic become part of OTIB?
  3. As there isn't a body, just an empty grave, does it cost half a crown?
  4. One of the funniest moments I've witnessed, which is not at all in the spirit of the game, happened at the old Manor Ground. This was the game (September 1993?) when Dave Penney did a sliding tackle on Junior Bent that had Vinnie Jones seen it, he would have winced. Anyway, we had a fairly packed open end which wasn't exactly huge due to the limited terracing. Oxford had a corner and as their strikers rose to head the ball, they also had to deal with a hail of sugar cubes. The 6 yard box looked as if snow had fallen! The reason for sugar cubes? There was a hut at the rear of the terracing for snacks. If you needed sweetening your hot beverage, plates of sugar cubes were placed on the ledge underneath the serving hatch. The servers must have thought that a lot of City fans has a very sweet tooth!
  5. Hi Cidered, Thanks for asking. You were right to qualify what I was saying. I was merely joining in with John's cartwheeling antics which I believe to be made up.....just like my additional info as seen on youtube! I never saw JA in real life let alone play for the City. A great pity.
  6. It is well worth watching on C4player/hub thingy last month's Guy Martin 2 parter Our Guy In Colombia. As well as pedal bike racing without pedals, Guy investigates how drugs are made and talks to those who know a lot about Cocaine plus a certain drug lord. He gets to see a smuggling submarine as well. Colombia looks like an incredible country and Guy Martin wants to go back there and maybe one day without all the security arrangements.
  7. If you watch the YouTube reels of the late, great John Atyeo scoring for England, you'll see him sliding to the corner flag . He then takes off his shirt and throws it at Harold Winterbottom before making hand and arm gestures to signify he will be having several ciders afterwards. People will say that he never played for England in the World Cup finals (having scored the goal that got us there) because he was playing for a 2nd Division team ie us. However, the real reason is because of the above goal celebrations. I'm sure Dave Fevs can provide an analysis on how long his celebrations lasted.
  8. Who else thought Ephraim was sent off moments before the final whistle? Even Robins TV said this after he was shown a second yellow.
  9. Just spoken to a PA mate of mine who was at the PNE game last weekend. He thought it should've been a draw as PA played really well when attacking. When I mentioned the 7 changes, he wasn't at all surprised as the Saturday game showed up how bad they were at defending.
  10. And the newts weren't even slightly tipsy.
  11. Radio Brizz have just said it was their technical error. All now working after a 3 minute delay.
  12. Not only have they still not refunded but at 3.09 we're now having Rovers commentary. Pathetic
  13. Phew. That's a relief. They're normally just blaming the English!
  14. Now I know why half way through one post you said you wanted a biscuit with a cup of coffee.
  15. Thanks Phantom. You're not being pedantic at all. I obviously misunderstood from a previous thread what you'll be up to on Wednesday. Needless to say, others are now saying they haven't had a promised refund. I can gladly pm you the emails from AMG confirming we would be getting a refund. I didn't want to make the sender's name public.
  16. With the SC&T meeting this Wednesday, I still haven't received the refund promised by AMG. I would be grateful if those that complained after 3pm KO could let me know if you received anything even if it was £1. I eventually had great correspondence with one person from AMG. This is what he said. "Yes the club are asking us to refund....." Thanks.
  17. Slarti, wouldn't it be based on average attendance figures for the clubs? My guess is Torquay and Yeovil still attract decent crowds, Taunton not so.
  18. For those that haven't read all 91 whoops 92 pages (hello Phantom,) here is a summary.... BCFC are now having all their shirts made in China and available through another website. You get a free pie with every order plus free entry to SC&T meetings courtesy of Zoom. The 3rd kit known as Splat is now the second kit. The away kit will be released in September together with a dvd on neck exercises. This will help the wearer either expand or contract their neck muscles for a proper fit. Many people can personally vouch for the poor/good quality of the kit even though they haven't actually felt one in the shop let alone wear it. Some people have bought the new O'Neills shirt but their opinions don't count. Posters have also done their own private polls where the results show everybody hates it and isn't a patch on other manufacturers especially Castore, who nobody had heard of 8 years ago as they didn't exist. I see O'Neills products every day here in Norn Iron where they are made. They look good and are good, apart from BCFC products obviously and don't let's talk about their t-shirt range especially if it is Blue. But me? I'm just a lawnmower, you can tell me by the way I walk.
  19. I've explained in previous posts here Ian that Castore wasn't a thing until around 2015 ish. A couple of under 30s sporting brothers wanted to get into sportswear. Because of a financial background their connections obviously helped. They have significant backing. A shrewd move to get a major team to wear their clothing must've helped despite the obvious cost. Just like Admiral who went for Leeds in the early 70s which took their sportswear to another level, so did Castore with Rangers plus other non- football teams. Who made/make Castore clothing? Don't know.....maybe O'Neills under licence! Now that would be funny.
  20. Ummm Bradford City? Could play them away in the FACup 3rd round...
  21. Related: The Tourist season 2 reveals first-look at returning Jamie Dornan Discussing their new show following its announcement last year, the Williamses said in a joint statement: "We loved making The Tourist and Boat Story picks up where that left off — tonally, at least. "It's a morality tale and a thriller and other things that make it hard to define even though we seem to be attempting to define it. It's full of vulnerable, messed-up and eccentric characters, and we've cast some of our favourite actors to play them. "We are excited to bring this to life along with our fellow directors." Coming soon on the Beeb!
  22. *the only exception is if you're Bristol City and have a £25 million rated player! Fixed it for you Dave.
  23. I can see it now. Our new away kit is purple with green dots, in a similar style and position but resembling a Robin ( a vertical Splat or modern badge thing)!
  24. Apologies. I was trying to be topical/humorous regarding the 'annoyance' that many feel towards the Splat Robin. I've always thought the Robin was awarded as the OTIB version of a Blue Peter badge. A post that shows a person's thought or deed to be worthy of praise, would get a Robin. It could be about the poster or about their subject matter eg a player doing something positive out of normal office hours. However, and this is where the OP has a genuine point, should it be necessary to count how many Robins have been awarded to individuals. It would mean that a Robin, for a positive player story, would go to the poster on countback.
