  1. And Jacki....he came from Glasgow! From as in via!
  2. Asking as they might be exempt. What about those who are disabled and blue badge holders?
  3. Mary Ure played the girl from Dusseldorf who couldn't remember if the cathedral was on the left or right of the square! She was a top stage actress of her day.
  4. Where Eagles Dare. Ron Goodwin's music score is phenomenal. Clint was Clint but without a horse. Mr Burton was almost believable as a super-fit Army Major. The scenery and action! The film was made without CGI and green screens (but they did pioneer a new way of acting in front of a projected screen). The Alistair McLean screenplay (actually written before the book) might be slightly bonkers in the plot BUT what escapism....and that's just for the viewer. "Broadsword calling Danny Boy." The stunts! I went to school with the son of Richard Burton's stuntman, Alf Joint. Those stunts took place on real cable cars.
  5. I did! Feb 24th. Here it is again... I'm pleased if it is O'Neill The shirts will most probably be made in Strabane, Norn Iron or in Dublin. I will be passing nearby to the Strabane factory next week. If I can, I will ask at the main desk if they are making it. Their Megastore in Derry is fantastic. I have been wondering for years if they could make decent football shirts as their GAA and Rugby sportswear is of really good quality. Finally, when was the last time we had a shirt made in the UK or even Europe? I think it was Nibor made in Stoke -on-Trent. You'll be lmpressed if it is O'Neill who has the contract. FWIW Umbro is really owned by Iconix of USA. Castore didn't even exist 10 years ago. O'Neills quality is good and well respected in this part of the UK. I really can't understand what the moaning and groaning is really about....unless for some reason, the shirts sent to BS3 are below the standard acceptable in the industry.
  6. According to The Wombles both are free.
  7. Brighton has just bought the Brazilian from Watford for 30m. James Miller in talks as well with Brighton.
  8. Duh! I keep forgetting his son has something to do with this club. As you were!
  9. I thought his name was Adolf Dassler hence Adidas? Therefore, wouldn't it be Stilan?
  10. The album version is better as it's longer!
  11. Better than your normal morning hop!
  12. Has there been a thread on this? I have been chewing on this conundrum for a few days. For me, I have to go back to my Prog days. What a track. What a band. My nomination is... Stationary Traveller by Camel. Here's the excellent live version
  13. I have had the privilege of 2 away games this year. Away to Sunderland (1-1) and away to Stoke (1-2). So I have a good away record this year! Spare a thought for my son who has travelled with me from Northern Ireland. He has never seen his team win in all these years....Stoke City! My 'spare a thought' is always fleeting. It took me several years to persuade him not to fit in with class mates by supporting Man Ure. I think my sheep noises of baa every time he talked football finally worked. As he was born in Stoke, that is why he supports them. I gave up trying to indoctrinate him into BS3 so being a Potter fan is ok by me!
  14. Is that like moonpig? They accept cards.
  15. The ultimate photo awaits....a bin and a train in the same photo. A portacaBIN doesn't qualify.
  16. If you are watching Sky via a dish, then 'technically' you are only 2 to 3 seconds behind the actual event due to the uploading to Astra satellite etc. However, the Sky red button is via the internet even though you might be watching it on your Sky Q box.
  17. I think that your flip chart presentation will reveal that in the first half his GPS Rangefinder, in golfing terms, wasn't working properly. His final pass was either wayward or 20 yards too long. A software update at halftime made him much better! I liked his forward runs. Jay had skill and class on display today.
  18. I was very impressed with Cam Pring especially in the first half. He is gaining more and more confidence in his ability to read the game. His passing was great as well. He was marshaling the defence which was good to see.
  19. I've often thought what happened to Tom's kit immediately after the final whistle at Chester. That was the last time Tom saw any of it. His boots, socks etc were nabbed by fans who had got onto the pitch to celebrate our promotion from the 4th. I was there but not guilty.
  20. There was also a Channel 5 doc shown the week leading up to BBC's The Gold series (which was excellent). The main difference between the C5 and The Inside Story docs was that the former interviewed one of the key witness guards. He had petrol poured over him and explained that petrol then burns into your skin even if not set alight. He shared more detail regarding the informant as well. Worth trying to find it on their version of iplayer. Series 2 of The Gold is to be made.
  21. Just had a pro-rata refund from the Swansea game. Anyone else apply and get £1?
  22. Il boit L'Absinthe, I'll boit du Pernod. Ses cheveux sont xxxx massifs. What are the chances of hearing this at his next match?
  23. You have to write to complain and ask for a refund during the game. They do answer but normally 48 hours later.
