  1. Who's this women's coach a few have wanted and what team does she come from? I've never heard of Jan Window.
  2. First game of the season, early 90s, and we were away to Wolves. The teams walked on to The Liquidator. The City players then told whoever how much they enjoyed the tune. Some players suggested it should be the entrance music at the Gate. I think this should be the new music... it will inspire!
  3. Isn't it something like nearly 800 days since our last penalty at Ashton Gate?
  4. Superb summary. I wish I had written that! In fact, there are many Christians, now including me, who have been bullied and stabbed in the back by those Life Of Brian protesters you mentioned. Rather than just sulk (I could represent England in any sulking competition), I eventually started my own podcasts. They are released weekly. The Christmas Special released today (24th) features the UKs top worship leader and songwriter Noel Richards. Martin Scott, a respected theologian joins us as well and we're all drinking wine! There are plenty of silly questions plus ones on Christmas myths and what annoyed them about Christianity in 2022! If you have a glass of wine or two and fancy a laugh and a Carol or two, please have a listen. Here's the link. Btw I do mention BCFC when I'm asked what superhero would I like to be in order to bring goodwill to this world at Christmas! You'll find the free and non-subscription based Off Grid Christianity podcasts on all the major platforms (Amazon/Spotify/iTunes etc) https://www.stitcher.com/show/off-grid-christianity
  5. As a 'religious type' myself, it is embarrassing to remember what went on when Life of Brian was released. I still think Python got bits of it right with the Sermon on the Mount scene! Theologians have tried to correct this embarrassment. A few years ago, a church showed the Life Of Brian with a discussion afterwards as to what Python got right. John Cleese was invited and duly went.
  6. And the Gaiety in Knowle where the projection room was sandwiched between the stalls and the front row of the circle. This meant sweet wrappers could be dropped from the circle. Everybody would see on the screen, the gradual descent of said wrappers!
  7. Made to make your mouth water! 2 adverts for the price of one
  8. Kiosks Newsagents. Are they still a going concern?
  9. the BBC commentator who follows The Addicks was interviewed by Radio Briz prior to the Rovers game. I'm surprised Dean has accepted the job after what the beeb said. The fans are fed up with the board. Nothing new but it is far worse than normal apparently. Apathy is rife. Their previous manager was given no support by the board etc. One thing the commentator said though was that despite all the sackings and ill feeling etc, there will always be a professional manager wanting the job.
  10. It's like reading OTIB! In fact, if you blank out their player references, you'd think you were reading OTIB. You'd react angrily by telling the poster that Baker isn't playing because he had to retire due to a terrible injury!
  11. Thanks John. The first 2 photos confused me. I thought you were driving the train and somehow had got onto the motorway!
  12. Very welcome Big T. I hadn't heard of them until they were on Sky's Isle of Wight Festival and got rave reviews. I promptly ordered the new album which was released in September. They played Belfast Limelight (450 max capacity) in October. Highlight of the year musically and the fact I was able to go with our son. For a 60+ year old standing right at the front with our son made it extra spesh! I think Black Magic is on the first album? What an absolute better live. Seeing everybody jump together at the end is fab. Wait till you hear the new album. Wow!
  13. You sure it will be on in Europe? If The Millers aren't showing it on their own channel feed, who's going to pay for all the cameras so that the Europeans can watch it? Rotherham Utd won't be so I'd be wary about flying VPN Airways for a wasted journey unless others have more info. Best solution would be listening to Radio Briz with Sky Sports News on for the live link video updates....assuming they can be bothered to go to New York Stadium.
  14. And it is already being advertised on their ifollow page for £10. Robins TV will surely be doing similar. All games up to and including Coventry on 1st Jan, will be on robinstv.. If Rotherham can, we can!
  15. I started going to all away matches from 1982. Beryl was on Coach 2 from 1983. "The City Away Travel Service Coach Number One 1980 - 1983 Stand" and in the concourse I'd have an old 1980s Peter Carol coach (maybe the one trashed by Millwall at Earls Court in 1984; UNLESS MILLWALL TRASHED 2 coaches on different occasions, I was on that coach as well. 5 windows were knocked out and the driver insisted on driving back along the M4 at 40mph to avoid air pressure blowing out the other windows. Our incident happened in Brent Cross. The coach was brand new and was all white without any livery. It was owned by a chap in Nailsea. It wasn't a Peter Carol coach that day. I obtained his home address and posted a letter through his door.
  16. I think he was on his way to Cornwall for a holiday and stopped off in Bristol to break up the journey. He liked the ground and that was it!
  17. Shows how time plays tricks on our minds. I have always thought that we were 92nd when we played at home to Wimbledon and won 4-2.
  18. Robbo, You have to tell us more please. How come your sister toured with the band?
  19. The Amazons How Will I Know If Heaven Will Find Me? What an amazing guitar band and what an album.
  20. Which made me think.... Instead of humanely killed, every chicken could be subjected to a very loud playing of Don't You Want Me, Fascination, Love Action, Mirror Man and naturally Lebanon. They'd be Human League killed.
  21. Whoops! My bad as the kids say apparently. It's amazing what my brain thinks of when I wake up. Apologies to all Russ Tamblyn fans. I don't know why I thought Red Buttons was Tom Thumb. Russ Tamblyn gave us the Dooby Dooby Do chant. Anyway, it starts here. The Dooby Dooby Do chant must return (although behind closed doors might prove a tad difficult).
