  1. Rr, he wrote the music for The Lion King. The stage musical version is still very popular 25 years later.
  2. Of only Wycombe and Fleetwood could swap fixtures. They could then share the same coach with our opponents.
  3. Well done for using hyphens either side of on and for not making it a capital o. Stokies are very proud of their hyphens!
  4. Never mind about your butler, Where's the private toilet which is guarded so that the Manic Street Preachers and 72k others can't use?
  5. Major Respect to Major Isewater. Were you on the wine tonight Major? I think you were a little bit dipsy when you wrote the above! Please re-read and pay respect to his teletubby pun or he'll be off to lala land.
  6. Meanwhile, back on the Fordy puns as I like them as well... Hobbies could include the way you prepare apples for eating. Do you use a knife for cutting or are you a peeler?* *term still very much used over here in Norn Iron.
  7. Phil, which team were you both playing for?
  8. Or the collars are mini wings to help players fly through the air quicker and further. More goals especially diving headers that commenced from the half way line!
  9. Why haven't the Marketing Dept done something similar? The Wurzels to unveil the new shirt at a gig tonight?
  10. Great spot Slarti! I think Dom is from Italy. Full name is Dominopizza
  11. No idea where that is! How did you get your Bilbao tickets?
  12. Not on our campsite! I was the token City fan. There was even a diehard Yeovil fan there.
  13. All the England Round 1 games were played at Athletico Bilbao's ground. I remember it as a newish stadium which would not be out of place today over here. They have moved to a new stadium now! Progress.
  14. We were based in San Sebastian for the 1982 World Cup. In order to guarantee tickets, you had to buy a package holiday with Sportsworld. What a rip-off that was! To pacify the disgruntled campers, the Sportsworld Ambassador agreed to meet those who could be bothered for a kickabout on the beach in San Sebastian, at 7am! The press hounds were duly invited and at least one photo made the front page of the ambassador being thrown into the sea. It was portrayed as fun. It wasn't. Most of the campers were annoyed with what the brochure said we would get for our money and what we actually got! The bay has an island in the middle (a bit like Steep Holm). Oh, and the ambassador was Bobby Moore.
  15. Did Ringo make an appearance last time Sir Macca was at Glastonbury? I didn't think he did.
  16. If there was a local tribute band, they would have to be called N and Chicken- Dubz
  17. When staying in Newport once, Springsteen was so bored he made a thermos of hot beverage and headed for the river. He drank several cups and realised he could write a song about the lack of any entertainment or fun in Wales and all he could do was drink several hot cups. Hence his song Fifth Tea, Severn Channel And There's Nothing On.
  18. He's the equivalent of Weimann. Bruce could play alongside Andi as both are Born To Run. Igmc
  19. Tottenham v Leicester. Meh! Wasn't Mansfield away! I'd like to see their statistics for that!
  20. I have yo say it is a fantastic kit. Well done to all parties concerned. Quite a few of us here remember the original Admiral kit (without stained glass effect). Well done also to CCFC for not having their brown version as an away kit!
  21. I drove to City of Derry Airport and caught the 9am flight to Stansted. The shuttle train and then tube got me to Wembley before midday! A couple of beers with my Bristol friends were had at Wetherspoons. I used to be a member of another forum, The City List. Geoff 1955 was a fellow lister but had moved to the USA. I phoned him at half time but couldn't hear a word he said. There was either a bad signal or the noise from the concourse was drowning out any conversation. I've tried to forget what happened on the pitch. The Dean Windass goal was made even worse as I had a fantastic view of it. Another friend from Bristol gave me a lift back to Stoke where he now lived. A stopover and a flight back from East Midlands Airport the following morning rounded off my 24 hours back on the mainland.
  22. BBC News - Little Oakley football fan dies weeks after stand named after him https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-61534940
