  1. I'm sure NP has a view on this after being sacked at a previous club. Nige had engineered a revival and no doubt would've kept that club from relegation when he was sacked with only a few games left.
  2. Actually James is from Derry* which is the equivalent of the Rougier brothers. *he's also from Londonderry.
  3. So the new boss has to be a donkey? We've had a few in the past!
  4. And now I'm really confused....or maybe Neil is. Courtesy of Wikipedia...
  5. Rock n Roll indeed. I only heard about JFK's daughter recently on TV as well! At least the TV show didn't say anything about the classic Quo track of similar name!
  6. Did you know the song was about JFK's daughter?
  7. And the England DJ nicked Sweet Caroline from Northern Ireland. Stick with The Wurzels. Be proud. Be Wurzel!
  8. Could a mod amend the title to Red Button and Robins Audio (Listen Live) please
  9. It's getting worse in the second half. The amount of dead air is woeful. Hopefully, someone from this club is reading this thread.
  10. I have just written to complain about the sub-standard commentary especially as the Listen Live web page says Radio Bristol provides the audio. May I suggest you complain right now during the game to bristolcitytvsupport@streamamg.com
  11. No. I have it too. So much for exclusively live BBC Radio Bristol commentary as mentioned on the Robins Audio page
  12. I still kick myself for not buying the vinyl version of Nonsuch in Virgin, Broadmead as I had the CD version. Worth a lot now. The Steven Wilson 5.1 versions are great. Drums and Wires is still hitting your ears with that freshness I first heard at the Colston Hall on that tour. The balcony was closed so it wasn't a sell out. We went to see them at the Top Rank, Cardiff by train and had to leave half way through to catch the last train back. Turned out to be XTC's last ever gig in Blighty. I collected every single release by them in whichever format until Wrapped in Grey was released and hastily withdrawn. Another pension fund missed! I have quite a few memorabilia. My favourite is the clock I made out of an XTC cd. My mate's wife was best friends with Andy Partridge's then wife type connection! Not only did Andy sign a new doodle a self portrait on a birthday card but he also signed the CD. Photo enclosed. If only Andy could find the English Settlement Masters, have them baked and then get Steven Wilson to do his twiddle skills for a 5.1 release.
  13. Chris Martin wearing yellow? It would be funny.
  14. Absolutely correct. I could tell you to listen to a Linn Sondek LP12 with appropriate arm and cartridge through your amp and speakers but if you thought you preferred the Amazon 40 quid special for its tonal qualities, then this is what you buy. A visit to Sevenoaks AV would help you out as well.
  15. Also, clean your vinyl. It'll make a big difference if they've been stored for a long time. There are expensive gadgets on the market. Here's the cheapest and it works brilliantly! I always use a very soft 2 inch paint brush (clean obviously)! Add a few drops of fairy liquid to one side of your vinyl. Use your brush to clean the grooves. Then shove said vinyl under a tap. The purists would say to avoid the label. I don't worry about that any more as the water will run straight off. Use your brush again to get into the grooves. Shake off the excess water and then use a very soft cloth to dry the vinyl. I use my son's saxophone cloth. Works a treat! Do same thing to other side of vinyl. It's worth playing the vinyl prior to cleaning just to see how much of a difference the cleaning makes. You'll be stunned and chuffed!
  16. If you have a half-decent amp and speaker system then £40 would be like owning a Golf GTi but you insist on 16" wheels! What amp have you got?
  17. Thanks for the info. Dan and not Toby was in the broom cupboard. It's not often I pay a tenner for the Robins TV version. When I do, I normally synchronise the video with my Robins Radio feed so I can hear Radio Bristol's commentary instead. They're presentation is vastly superior. When will the hierarchy at BCFC learn? Stop messing with the audio feed for the internet subscribers and giving us the RobinsTV based commentary. No reason was given for the BBC Bristol feed to be pulled. It could be deemed as a breach of contract but in this instance, I can't be bothered to fight it.
  18. Thanks VFTD. If it wasn't him, who was doing the main commentary then?
  19. Mind you when Toby forgot to help us listeners with audio descriptions, especially in the second half, you could hear whole verses of chants.....uninterrupted! Then there was that clanger when he couldn't describe one of the goals as his video feed had failed to show the live action! There was also a similar incident later on when the crowd audio mic feed stopped. Cue pure silence before Toby spoke from his broom cupboard without any effects! Put Toby in a broom cupboard, and this is what you get. Amateurish at best by those in command.
  20. I emailed Streaming@etc to tell them we were getting the wrong feed. I received 2 emails. Here is the first. Hi, The commentary is being pulled by the game today so will be different commentary today The second was to say they were sorry I wanted to cancel my subscription! No reason given for the Robins TV feed.
  21. It happened right in front of us. At one stage it was more like a Tango. However, when you watch the replay it could have been a lot worse with at least one of them landing on their head when falling over the advertising screen.
  22. Thanks! My bad! If I could delete the other one, I would! I'll try....
  23. I'd be interested to know how many otibers will be watching the first Sleedway Grand Orix this Saturday. It will be shown live on Discovery+ (Free if you subscribe to Sky Q) and Eurosport2 from 5.30pm. I'll be recording it to watch later. Who else will be watching/recording?
