  1. NTTDS, you're assuming that tonight's game on the red button is recordable. The last 2 games haven't been.
  2. When I was watching them until 1977, they were trying to move even then! The plans always got turned down.
  3. And me. This was my first club and that fantastic Admiral kit was worn when promoted to the First Division. Behind the squad is the old Bobbers Stand which has since been converted into Executive boxes. I moved back with my family to Bristol in 1977. The Oak Road Stand is now the Away End. In my day it was for the home supporters as the Away End (Kenilworth Road) was an open terrace. I would say that photo is around 1975. Peter Anderson was sold to a Belgian team around that time. My hero, John Aston, isn't in the photo. Denied! Neither is Ron Futcher but he wasn't a hero. His twin brother Paul was a magnificent player though. What we could do with someone like him today.
  4. Puns and more puns can be found in TV soaps. Corrie and err i think that's it.
  5. My first thought was something different! I was thinking that he was a cow and subsequent puns!
  6. Slarti, because of your recommendation, my wife and I watched the first 2 episodes on Thursday. We've just watched the other 4 courtesy of BBC i-player. It was, as you say, an Australian Spaghetti Western with Pulp Fiction plus Patrick McGoohan's The Prisoner minus the Guardian balloons! Because it was filmed in the outback maybe it should be retitled 50 Shades Of Dust. Roll on series 2.
  7. And the best game I ever saw Joe play for us was as a makeshift centre-half at Notts Forest. His heading was exemplary. Never mind his 4 goal debut (I was there) but Joe should've been converted into a full time centre back.
  8. Dave, I'm sure that when we signed Joe Royle, Alan Dicks said that a striker hits his prime when 29. That means he only had 12 months before the yard!
  9. Downsy has just very kindly replied to my email I sent him on Saturday just after ko. Here's his reply.... I can’t remember why, but we weren’t providing Radio Bristol on the audio feed for the Fulham game, so you guys got the Robins TV output instead. Hope it didn’t spoil it too much for you.
  10. And so many great puns. London School of Econgnomics being the best!
  11. Yep. I did say that! Your memory is great apart from somehow thinking I was there.....if only! They sang Ouch! amongst other songs.
  12. Phil, I know Wikipedia isn't 100% accurate but both Rutle entries (album and film) state that Neil and Ollie sang the lead vocals. Not Eric who mimed. Very interested to have a link to prove otherwise!
  13. Phew! I'm so glad I put 'allegedly' in my original post. I was in a rush me lud! The song in question is Heroes. The lovers were Tony Visconti and his girlfriend at the time who was definitely not Julie Christie. However, Julie was mentioned in Waterloo Sunset by The Kinks....allegedly (!)
  14. Superb Phil! I knew most but not all of the above. Never knew about the Russian folk song links! And of course Mary married Tony Visconti who gets mentioned having a kiss with Julie Christie allegedly in a famous David Bowie song!
  15. Knock, Knock. Who's There? Sorry, couldn't resist. And just to be even more pedantic it was Mary Hopkin. She was singular!
  16. As above. Remember that it's a 12.30 ko.
  17. Never been an issue before and I've been subscribing since the service commenced. Toby or whatever the commentator's name is, needs to realise we aren't watching his video feed. He needs to fill in the gaps and tell not show.
  18. BCFC will never learn. When it was managed by PremiumTV we could choose other matches to listen to throughout the week. Their service wasn't great but with bcfc deciding to go it alone, not only do we lose the choice of other matches but we have to suffer a poorer product. If anyone from BCFC is reading this thread, stop treating us as second class customers. Admit you've got it wrong by going it alone and go back to Premium TV (or whatever it's called now).
  19. At last! Just received this response. Thank you for your patience. Your partial refund has now been issued. Please allow 5-7 working days for it to reach your account. If you have any other questions, please reply to this email and I’ll be happy to help.
  20. Thanks. I've written three times already today. Still no response. I must be on their black list.
  21. What email address did you use to get this reply? And Rob Edwards is playing for us as well!
