  1. Geography? It`s fairly easy to live in your nice house in the Home Counties and commute to Swindon, an extra hour+ each way to Bristol.
  2. A couple of cul-de-sacs in Warmley last I heard.
  3. Well, they weren`t prepared to in 1982 due to complaints for equal treatment from another local club.
  4. It`s from @Red-Robbo. They haven`t had such an injection of cash since I don`t know when. Is it any coincidence that the plans got announced a few days after said village jumble sale? I don`t think so.
  5. He was useless but it has to be tempered a bit by the later revelations about his mental health at the time. I often wonder if the club knew he had problems when we signed him.
  6. As my mate texted me at the time; `If that *** ever pulls on a red shirt again that`s me done with City`
  7. I`ll believe it when they`re sat in it.
  8. `To paraphrase `If they played in a field we`d watch from the hard shoulder of the M5`
  9. And two more clubs with far bigger support than them making their pathetic attendances look even more pitiful.
  10. Leaving aside their purpose they were truly amazing buildings - I did a lot of work at Tone Vale and Sandhill Park near Taunton back in the seventies and eighties. They were like fully self contained communities with everything that was needed on site. It`s interesting to see how inventively they have been converted into flats nowadays as well (I see quite a few in my job) - a bit like the old Napoleonic forts dotted around Plymouth. I was at one yesterday as it happens, Fort Picklecombe at Maker down on the Rame.
  11. R*overs have far less history than MK Dons - they`ve only been a league club since 2015 after all. MK Dons are steeped in tradition by comparison.
  12. About the same I would say. Whoever is `bigger` depends on which one happens to be on the up at the time. It`s probably Swindon at the moment - just.
  13. It`s more about being seen to be done rather than having any actual effect IMO - pampered footballers ignoring the rules blah blah blah,
  14. Social distancing perhaps? I know the coach is huge but I doubt it would be possible on there.
  15. Happy with that - the away games are the clincher for me. I shan`t be asking for a refund now - I`m effectively getting nine games (three of which I wouldn`t have seen anyway) for £75 and no travelling 120 miles to Bristol.
  16. And garden centres have reopened if they need to increase the seating up the mem a bit. Go Outdoors won`t be open again for a couple of weeks though.
  17. Has anyone been past the mem lately? I was wondering if any new turf had been laid after Henbury Golf Club had their ninth green stolen the other day...…….
  18. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/52862637 All competitive sport can resume in England from Monday behind closed doors.
  19. I`ve thought for a while this might be a good idea. Three divisions of six, one up, one down (two would be a bit much probably). Pretty much all teams would probably be involved till fairly late season. Less fixtures so hopefully more results. I reckon it`s worth a try anyhow.
  20. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52854470 A bit of an update including some bits about the playoffs.
  21. He`s living there as an unpaid security guard. He`s allowed to eat all the rabbits he can catch instead.
  22. And start a fight with him when you disagree about something.
  23. Perhaps a couple of Everton players could test positive a couple of days before...…………………...
