  1. What did they do? Hail a passing trawler and ask for their ball back?
  2. Just a random thought. If the Government say that football can resume behind closed doors from, say, mid-June that will only apply in England. If the Welsh Government (who have been much stricter throughout all this) say it can`t where does that leave Cardiff, Swansea & Newport? Neutral venues for their `home` games?
  3. Yep. Despite what I thought yesterday which turned out to be completely wrong I now think we`ll just follow whatever the Premier League decide.
  4. He`s g*s mind, he could have stolen it off someone else.
  5. If you go to the Championship page there`s a City one on there - pretty easy though.
  6. I think you`re right. If there was any chance it would have at least been hinted at tonight with more detail in tomorrow`s document. I suspect the PL/EFL have already made a decision not to complete the season (not my preference TBF) and have advised the Government accordingly. We`ll hear something around midweek to give the clubs time to get their refund policies in order I imagine.
  7. I expect AG enjoyed that as much as he did being compared to a wheelie bin by Brian Johnston
  8. When it fell down the groundsman asked Wally for a new one and was told `it`s a new net or the transfer budget, you decide`
  9. Exeter (although I think their new main stand* may have stopped it) *For any s*ggies reading, a `new main stand` is a permanent construction at a football ground built using traditional building materials (not ropes and canvas) and paid for by the club.
  10. It was probably just like the ones you had for Sunday football with the team`s initials written on in permanent marker so the opposition didn`t nick them
  11. I saw that and thought the same. The paragraph in the middle is quite interesting though (forget the first line about ground sharing) - it would appear that Steve`s vision for the future may turn out to be not too far from reality.
  12. I`m not sure - I get the impression they`re looking at some sort of Duckworth/Lewis scenario where the strength of the opposition is taken into account. Three points won v Southend or Bolton will presumably not be valued as highly as three v Oxford or Pompey, something like that.
  13. Yep. You couldn`t get a Uruguay scarf in South Bristol for love nor money back then.
  14. The trouble is that they`ll use the fact that Flapper said it as proof that they did take 50k despite all the evidence to the contrary. And the irony of him looking for a `fan` who went to Wembley but hasn`t been seen since...……………………..
  15. An interesting angle from Lincoln City http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lincolnshire-52532786
  16. Yes you have. You haven`t factored in #gaslogic
  17. That is one of the funniest things ever - I even had to look closely at it seemed at first glance that a lot of them had Matty Taylor`s picture on!
  18. Every cloud and all that. Combine it with more time for Benik to get fit it doesn`t seem to have cost us too much. Assuming we`d have got him mid January we`d have got something like eight league games out of him?
  19. Nice to see that more people like shite jokes than Bristol R*overs though.
  20. Bolton & Reading are good shouts. Colchester and Derby too. Brighton ? I think that`s pretty much all student accommodation round there isn`t it? I think MK Dons from memory is near the M1 and away from housing too. I`ve mentioned before as well that does it have to be football grounds? I`m thinking of Sandy Park (Exeter Rugby) down here - right by the M5, one way in and out and a hotel on site. There might be some non-league grounds too - Fylde`s new stadium for instance is a fair way from anything I think.
  21. They really do have this mindset - it`s bizarre. They would be happy to fail provided we failed in a bigger way. Most of them would die happy if they were one point ahead of us, even if it was in Conference South at the time. I often use this analogy - if a City fan came across a s*g drowning in the canal and offered his hand to help the s*g would rather pull him in with him than let him help him out.
  22. You`d think, given all the times it`s happened to them, they would be aware of the old proverb `pride (or in s*g speak, unlucky da shit) comes before a fall` but evidently not!
  23. It was even better than just not seeing it coming, they`d actually celebrated avoiding it!
  24. It is clear that they will not have fans there if they are played but the club can offer alternatives rather than refunds - live streaming to ST holders or whatever. It is then up to the individual what they opt for. If the games don`t happen we will get refunded I`m sure. They`re doing the right thing in waiting to see what the EFL decide but running different scenarios (as we know!) to cover all the options.
  25. 38 I think provided we don`t lose another wicket before lunch. I could be wrong mind.
