Podcast coming soon… it will take a while to edit this - it is currently well over 2 hours… 3 Robins Reviews this week too… big thanks to all of those who recognise the efforts and time commitment that goes into producing these podcasts especially the Robins Reunited’s… it is a labour of love and like many that have reached out to say so it also helps with our mental fitness to talk through games and celebrate former players contributions…

    Its much appreciated!

I have a vague suspicion that SL covets Robins, and would be willing to pay compensation and provide him with the Nest egg to push for promotion?   I Could of course be way off target, and be living in a fantasy scenario?   However.....It seems that SL is a big admirer of Robins, and although it appears unlikely, anything could happen? ..... In the land of BCFC..........Ha!

I'm sure he does - but why would Mark Robins leave coventry for a sideways move? I dont see the attraction for him?

Robins to us and Eustace to Cov I can see

I don’t want NP to go no way, we are in a good position and this looks like the hardest championship we have ever seen.

If he goes could it be he’s set up some foundations for us to become a better team in the future? Like setting up Leicester to win the premier league?

No one else would be ballsy enough to blood as much youngsters as he has throughout the squad, he’s been great for us.

Ideally I’d like him to work in a more upstairs role with Tinnion and keep the management team we have,  but if he leaves/ pushed I think we will be back to days of Derek McInnes and that was awful.

Anyway onto Ipswich, we have to beat them and Swiss Tony

    Why would Robins leave Coventry?

I don't have much to add to brighten the mood unfortunately. In fact if I were to go into some specifics I'd imagine the anger and frustration felt would be worse.

I think the situation is reminiscent of the lead up to Cotterill's departure. A CEO leaving at the end of the summer, an outspoken manager showing their frustration, ultimately leading to a decision being made by the Lansdowns to fire him, but take their time in doing it so that they could line up a replacement.

Last time it was LJ, who'd they'd been speaking to weeks ahead of Cotterill's departure, and this time there is also time for a succession plan.

It could be weeks still until this all comes to a head, or it could be days. I guess the natural cut-off point would be as it was with Cotterill, the new year, when the window opens and the new man can begin to help steer the recruitment process.

As I said earlier today, bar a miraculous run off form under Nige, I can't at the moment see how things play out any differently to the above.

He got it spot on when he got rid of Cotts. Lower league manager and we were going straight back down.

This time we have a proven manager, who worked miracles at Leicester. And he’s building something. Would be mental to let Pearson go

Largely in agreement, but to the point of ‘we’re now in a good position to kick on’ - we were in the best position in the clubs history when LJ went, on and off the pitch. And lansdown made such a big mess of it, many people wouldn’t have believed it if someone from the future came back and told us what was going to happen.

I’ve also personally never really understood those who say NP probably isn’t the man to get us promoted. Who is, then? A manager who’s got promoted out of this league before? Well, that’s Pearson. A manager with extensive experience in the league we’re trying to get into? Well, that’s Pearson too. A manager who’s managed bigger clubs than us? Uhh….you can see where I’m going.

It’s why to me, the overarching feeling is just pure confusion. It has to be a personal dislike/vendetta against him from the Lansdown’s, there really isn’t another genuine reason in my eyes.

Makes me think they may have fallen out. SL and pearson that is.

  6. Like others on this thread - I think SL has been a good owner for us, overall. Of course he's made mistakes, but he's progessed us massively.

But this is where he loses me, if Nige goes.

Nige is building something. I would question, why we would get rid at this time.

Does he go into why Wilson dumped him for the playoff final? IMO that was a big factor in what cost us that game.

No, he says he was devastated and was in tears. And Clayton Fortune consoled him and took him to the bar.

But he also says he has massive respect for Danny Wilson, who he says he can now see, was protecting him as a youngster, when he would'nt play him all the time.

I see the Fuhrer is taking the easy route with a Q and A with the eggchasers before their game at Ashton gate

There is more chance the winner of Fury V Usyk  fighting Wilder straight after their fight

than AJ getting in with somebody who can hit that hard

AJ fights everyone. Cant really say he wouldnt fight certain people, when you look at his record, no one has fought the names he has.

Kinda why he's in the position he's in - he takes more risks than anybody.

Hey folks, apologies if this isn't the right place to post this, I'm new on here. I'm a Kiwi lad who is moving to Bristol in 6 months time and really want to immerse myself in the Bristol football and get along to as many local games as I can (City games that is, Joey Barton being in charge of the other lot was all I needed to tell me not to go up there). I'm a massive footy fan, but coming from a country with one pro club, there's a lot of things I've read and heard which are a bit unknown to me. Just looking for any advice on how to get tickets, where fans congregate before games, etc. Again, sorry if this sort of thing has been covered ad nauseam already on other threads. Cheers if anyone can help me out! From a freshly minted Robins fan.

Get in Section 82 - this is where most of the noise comes from.

If you buy this fight, YOU are the reason, the big fights dont happen.

That's just fantasy isn't it. How could you possibly know that he wouldn't put his heart and soul into something if he knew he was leaving?

Insight into your mindset rather than Nige’s I think

What nigel has done here - he's been building for the long term. At his age with his no-nonsense personality, i just cant see him sticking around and building for someone else.

    Just my opinion of course.

However, Bristol Live understand he's happy here and intends to stay.

Its just now up to SL to offer him a new contract or not. I hope he does, because i feel, he's done a good job of getting the wage budget down and deserves to get the opportunity to see it through.
