I’d love to see what Emma Haynes or Siena Wiegman could do for the rest of the season, but any success would be easily dismissed as “NP’s legacy” rather than a result of their ability, which we wouldn’t be able to prove or disprove either way.

    🤦🏽‍♂️

    I wouldn’t.

They are managing in a totally different game. A level which is far below national league level.

Nathan Jones is a **** who I never want near the club I love.

Lauren Smith seems like a lovely person.

    I stand by my views.

On the basis you don’t like the guy then, which is fair enough.

But objectively he’s far more qualified

Not knocking you, but I struggle with this view. Now, I detest Warnock, but I'm of the opinion that City are my club, I've supported them all my live, I'll see out countless managers & a few owners too.

It would actually be peak City to appoint someone I can't abide & them be the ones to take us to the Prem!

I’m not against the style of play. I would never demand a certain style. Win any way possible.

But I’m not turning up nearly every week to watch my team cheat and roll around for 90 minutes.
    It wouldn’t be for me

Is it just clubs whose value could be affected on the stock market if a key employee was to leave? Which presumably oxford united isnt??

If it’s a PLC then yes maybe. But i doubt we’d be taking a manager off of a club that big

If that’s the case it has to be a coach out of a job. As if we’d approached someone at a club that club would of announced we’ve given “whoever” permission to speak with BCFC

Clubs don’t have to announce they’ve given permission

Nigel Pearson thanks. However would go for Dean Smith, Mark Robins or Lampard. We need a name for PR, financial purposes. And no I have zero interest in watching League One or Two, but I did see how easily we swept aside Oxford in August. Spent years doing it, if we want promotion we need proven.

I’m making the point that it’s a cushty club who keep ex players (like no other)

You have no interest in League One football, but you want Lampard 🤦🏽‍♂️

Thank you for providing something that has no context 👌

Everton and Chelsea were of course both basket cases.

Things haven't really improved much at either since he left have they?

Frank wouldn't have to deal with the issue of leaving 18 players out of a match day squad here. He wouldn't need to rebuild a team. He wouldn't need time to input his tactics and culture to the team.

It's all already there for him. I don't think he's ever really had that in his management career.

Come on. Both teams, particularly Chelsea, had good players. And a decent size squad.

he didn’t manage Sheffield United or Luton!

I've gone back and watched this again this evening

I don't know if there is anything in these rumours. But watching that you can see why he may be of interest to us.

He speaks a lot about culture and his culture aligns with the culture Nige has set here. He wouldn't need to come in and change anything like he had to at Chelsea and Everton. That culture is already here.

He says things like outperforming ability, players driving standards, prefers to coach and improve younger players, signing players to fit the system etc etc etc.

Watching that you can see that he fits in with what we are looking for.

Apart from the fact he doesn’t get results

Would fit with a toxic ownership, look what they did to Pearson, who in his right mind would want to work for them narrative.

I remember years ago, when SOD was appointed, he remarked that BCFC was respected as a club, within the football industry. I wonder how many people on the inside would say that today?

I really don’t see how saying “yeah well 10 months ago it wasn’t great”, well….it’s no longer 10 months ago, is it? A very weak “told you so” type.

Been said thousands of times, but you’ll never get every signing spot on. And all those you’ve listed are extremely, extremely cheap ones.

Agreed. That was 10 months ago. Were in a different place now. Fanbase are looking up, instead of looking down

Once again, if all the other teams return earlier and we're the only team that doesn't, then I believe JL's perspective may indeed be justified. It's not an idea he's pulled out of thin air; there's a basis for his concern.

What strikes me as ironic is the criticism directed at Jon Lansdown with statements like, "Who the hell is Jon Lansdown to criticise the amount of time off the coaching and medical staff are giving to players? What qualifications does he have in that regard?" Well, then, what qualifications do we have to criticise JL? What qualifications do we possess in managing a football club or making medical judgments? Here we are, criticising him with less knowledge and qualifications than he has. It's indeed an ironic situation.

Its not our opinion we are defending. We are saying Nigel Pearson and Dave Rennie have had huge success with Leicester - they have more expertise than Jon Lansdown and Brian Tinnion. Thats not me or any of us, saying that us fans know more.

To give credit to JL, he isn't presenting this as his personal opinion (even though it could have been taken like that). He explicitly states that what the team is doing with these extended breaks is quite unconventional in the league. So, it's not just JL's perspective; it's evidently shared by everyone else as well. When you consider that we have more injuries than any other team in the league, it makes his viewpoint on this matter quite valid. It's a concern we should all share, especially because whoever is responsible for the team's fitness seems to be falling short. It's one thing to claim that the team is the fittest we've ever had, but that statement becomes meaningless when half the players are sidelined with injuries.

Lots of injuries - but most have come during games? - you cant avoid those impact injuries.

  13. Just watched all 42 minutes 💤

To be fair, i think Jon Lansdown was on a hiding to nothing. Whatever he said, was going to be criticised.

I was really disappointed by this interview - it felt like two mates down the pub having a chat. To be fair to Joe, he's new in the job - so asking the hard questions, was never really going to happen.

My thoughts for what its worth:

They spoke about social media - couldnt care less

They spoke about communication - couldnt care less.

Said they want whats best for the club - I do actually believe that.

He criticised the time off during international breaks - Sorry Jon, but i trust Dave Rennie and Nigel Pearson, alot more than you. They have more expertise and have been there and done it.

Spoke that alot of the Alex Scott money, that they were going to spend, was spent before hand, so they werent held to ransom - i accept that and thought that was the case.

Spoke about where we are in the table - think this is gaslighting. Two of the more easier games coming up - win those and we are top half - the timing of this sacking and then complaining about league position - you are trying to pull the wool over our eyes.

Lampard - Play off final with Derby

    Champions league qualification

Kept Everton in the premier league

Manning - Achieved absolutely nothing in the game. Zilch. Nada.

Derby already were top 6. He couldn’t improve with the chelsea players he added. Zero improvement

Chelsea - he inherited a very good squad thanks to a exceptional academy. Pressure off he qualified. But this on its own isn’t enough

The rest of his managerial career, he hasn’t done anything impressive. In fact he has lost ALOT of games

Manning is a big gamble, but he has shown promise and is on the way up, instead of on the way down like Lampard.

Lampard has no substance, other than having a superb playing career. Which isn’t really relevant
