What sort of songs/chants would you like to hear?

I know a lot of the boys in S82, they get far too much stick for trying to improve the atmosphere I think. Some of the displays they’ve done have been excellent. (Ignore the attempts at surfing a flag across the South Stand though, our fans really can’t grasp how to do that for some reason)

Perhaps the megaphone is a bit too much, but remember the bloke in the EE 15 years ago that used to sing threshing machine pissed right up through one, people didn’t seem to mind that.

I think they’d be open to giving a game ago using the standard old ones & see how it goes, but I do believe it’s been tried before & still had the same issues regarding more people joining in.

I think there displays are excellent - definitely dont fault their effort at all.

But songs should be loud and intimidating. NOT dreary. And singing tilburg songs that no one knows doesnt help.

Getting old songs going is usually a good start. But if its new. Keep it simple, so people can join in.

To be fair I have to agree with puckle red, it’s no different at all to how it’s always been (in my lifetime)

Take the EE towards the end, you had the older lot towards the toilets that didn’t sing much

a group of younger lads in the middle

    Then you had the netters

You mentioned you are not teenagers, but acting like child trying to sing over songs you don’t like?

It’s just classic city fans, it’s almost like people dislike seeing others enjoying themselves, just let others enjoy themselves.

I want the city crowd to be loud. And intimidating for teams to come too.

That dreary song ain’t never going to be loud and intimidating. And most people don’t like it. We’re not the only ones singing over it.

Surely a good idea to start songs all the time?

That Bristol city Oley song, your right the lads by the drum sing it but you can also see other pockets of fans within the singing area like it too.

I personally don’t myself but then your unlikely to like every song sung, for example “I’m a Bristol city fan and I’m a ******* manual manipulator” is a completely stupid song, I’ve never seen the lads with the drum sing that but other groups for for example.

For context I stand at the back of s25

Football songs should be simple and loud.
Some of the songs they come up with are dreary. And they kill the atmosphere.

At one point they were purposely signing another (crap) song, quietly.. they are like a little choir 🤦🏽‍♂️

Singing section is full of selfish 18 year olds who won’t sign unless it’s their little groups songs. Countless times I’ve heard a song started and then they’ll just start singing their own song over the top of it because it’s ’banter’.

Me and my mates start songs when the group (s82) with the drum, starts sings that shit “Bristol City oley” song or other shit songs. We aren’t teenagers.

I grew up local enough and I’m sure there’s plenty of us from wiltshire on here.

My connection was built by my Dad and as I say his by his Dad (and watching city in the top division helped imagine!). I don’t have much in common with him especially now, but I also don’t have many warmer memories than going to football with him. It wasn’t something we could afford to do every week so it was usually special occasions such as birthdays etc. And still now I can’t make every game but il go to a game any chance I get wherever it is, whoever it’s against, whatever the league table looks like because watching City is special to me.

I fell in love with Bristol as a City because of my club, and in a dream world I’d come and live there but things didn’t work out that way (yet).

If you support city, you can’t really be a plastic fan. I’m talking more about so called fans of top 6 clubs

I better start following Bath then instead? And my kids won’t support City. I like the sentiment but that’s not how it works.

Truth is most fans follow family links, realistically I’m only a city fan because my dad took me as a kid - and he started going with his Dad in the 70s. With no link to Bristol why do you think they chose City as a local team to go and watch? Probably the relative success.

I don’t get the 2 club thing though, and it always amuses me how many people come out the woodwork for the big games - who spend most of their time talking and arguing about Chelsea/united/liverpool etc.

You should have some sort of real connection with the club you support.

I think clubs should be your local team. Or where you lived.

But most people just pick a top 6 side and then there excuse is their dad was also a plastic supporter

  7. Looks like i was wrong about the chap being a Leeds fan. But I wasn’t the only one.

When it looked like he said we are Leeds - everyone around me starting abusing him. Telling to go back to Leeds etc

What colour did he have on? Black Ma.strum jacket?

The guy being led out by loads of stewards. Had blonde hair.

I saw another guy telling everyone he was a city fan. Maybe your on about him

He's not a Leeds fan. He's been a season ticket holder for years and was trying to get the atmosphere going.

The guy i saw (a few blocks over) put his hands out and shouted “we are Leeds”

  10. The lads with the drum. Sing some really dreary songs.
    Don’t help at all.

That was a few blocks over. It was a Leeds fan

Nonsense.  Fans give him a tough ride as they can’t bear to be wrong after judging him 3 years ago

I didnt write him off 3 years ago. He recent performances make me think we need better.

  12. I’m still not totally convinced by him. But i did like him coming out and being a sweeper keeper. He wasn’t doing that before. And it was effective. Killed some of their attacks

    Not linked so don’t panic!

Seen city posted the two goals he scored vs Forest in 2015. Got me thinking… has there every been a more underwhelming signing that has actually transpired to be an absolute hero.

Would love a prime Wilbs in this squad right now.

Jon Stead. I was so meh, when he signed. But he was so good for us!

Walking towards the underpasses post match two policemen were stood at the footpath by the cottages. There was an overwhelming smell of weed everywhere and I asked one if they could smell it - he grinned and shrugged his shoulders………:dunno:

Seemed like they did the right thing for once.

I saved my ticket onto my phone, so didn’t need to try and download. Surely this is the sensible thing to do, especially if you’ve got multiple tickets to scan? 🤔

I will do this in future. Lesson learned

  16. Forgot to bring my printed tickets. Not a problem i thought, they are on my phone.

Until i got to a packed turnstile and the internet signal is slow because of so many people.

I had to load 4 separate tickets 🤦🏽‍♂️

    Took a while

    Smith was massively outclassed

Whilst he was outclassed, i think how hard Beterbiev hits, made the difference.
Smith was landing, but it didn’t seem to bother Beterbiev at all.
when he landed tho, you could tell smith was feeling the shots
