  1. Yeah when you win the last 6 games of the season and get relegated because you averages 0.6 PPG for the preceding 38 games. I expect you to suitably outraged. People have been rightly concerned that until recently our form has been awful proper shit, 0.85 ppg from Christmas until Easter left a lot of fans with a very bitter taste. A few wins barely changes the fact our form since Christmas puts us in a bad place next year if it were to carry over.
  2. Two games isn't form, is it? Compared to 14 games where we took less than a point per game, this is awful. In the last 18, we were on 1.2 points per game because of the uptick in form, but that is still less than average. Over the season, we're at 1.3 ppg. I'd like to see us picking up 1.5+ ppg. That gives us a good season plus a chance of the playoffs if we can edge towards 1.6/1.7; for reference, 2+ ppg is top-4 form.
  3. I agree with you if, for example, if Pearson was underperforming; however, Manning was almost immediately in a better position than his predecessor and with the same group of players.
  4. If you assume the starting position is terrible (we did have a short-term injury crisis), you need to give the new manager some time. Still, in this instance, his position was almost immediately better than his predecessor, and most fans were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt in not tarring him with any responsibility for the nature of Pearson's exit. That said, he had an indifferent run, combined with a decent cup run, followed by some horrible form for 14 games and this current uptick, combined with a very iffy/pointless expenditure of money on Mabude. I'm very nervous about giving him a budget and a preseason, allowing him to shape the squad; after the Cardiff game, I would have fired his ass if I'm honest, that said if he stays, I'll judge his impact after the first ten games of next season, as with no pressure its hard to tell what the current mindset of the players is. Would you let Jon know I would like a free season ticket for my Nephew cheers ?
  5. Emotionally, I just can't bring myself to want any kind of success for Ashton, especially after the mess he left here.
  6. Hay, I want Ipswich to finish in the playoffs to avoid an egg on my end-of-season prediction that they would be lucky not to drop out of the playoffs.
  7. Me too, I don't think some people realise that your view of a manager can change over time though. If he were to show signs of learning and growing next season Personally I'm still in the very worried camp, but if we have a shaky start and start picking up good results I'll be ok. But next season I really want to see us punching at a solid top half finish, all the signs right now is we will be bobbling around 10 places off where I'd like us to be, and that's not the play offs.
  8. Yes I mean the previous 14 games were only relegation form 0.85 points per game nothing to worry about, it was all rosy if you wanted to play league one football next season. Add in recent results and yay well done your a bottom end table side 1.2 points per game 55 points and mid table... I'm over the moon with that. So yes just enough to keep his job, and I'll judge him after ten games next season, and a full preseason. However the signs are not good that we're going to be punching anything other than mid table.
  9. If only it was a few bad results, it was lots and it ended our season in effect. He's probably done enough to save himself from the chop this season. I'll give you a verdict after the first 10 games of next season. I'm still in the camp that he can be exceptionally naive as a manager from what I've seen this season. The game today though must be in the context of Blackburn are screwed.
  10. Congratulations, but you have to feel for the Rovers fans. Their fan base is so small now that it is barely genetically viable.
  11. I tend to support players more so in the PL though I hate Chelsea marginally less than Utd at the moment. Cole is a good player but I think he stands out in a fairly disorganised Chelsea side. That being said he should be way ahead of Gallagher in the England setup.
  12. Stick to enjoy the rest of the season. Rob Edwards and Liam Manning could not be further apart in styles and pedigree; apart from Rob Edwards having had an extensive playing career under multiple decent managers, his team is more akin to Pearsons than Mannings. Luton focuses on using the ball well when they have it, utilising speed, aggression and intensity when they have the ball, versus us trying to retain possession and play from the back retaining possession. To get from A -> B with Manning will take a rebuild and will take some time with a busy transfer market (it might work, but if it doesn't, it sets us back years), and the only thing that's changed in recent results is Matty James coming back into the side; not much has changed on the Manning end. And I think that worries people: the results are masking the problems.
  13. I'm sure he's got potential at some point, I think the problem is he's come in as a loan to bolster the squad. Development wise he might be ahead of Bell and Conway at the same age but not Tammy for example which is what I think people expect when the club loan in a ex Man City player. If his loan was with a view to taking him in the summer and developing him the club could communicate that better. But I get the feeling they've just signed a raw kid at the wrong time, might even have damaged him.
  14. FML Keane is a nob and that's a United slanted view.
  15. Max mad some phenomenal saves.
  16. He did, he'd also be a lunatic not to be hedging his bets as he's been offered nothing.
  17. I'm not interested until he says its been my biggest honour to be Bristol City manager, but I've been offered the job of getting some other poor bastard relegated while I churn out words that sound interesting.
  18. What do you mean, he was asked about his contract and on a number of occasions said there had been nothing. That's poor on the clubs part, poor and rings alarm bells that there is going to be a clear out in the summer. And the Manning interview why's he sending Bell home to analyse teams?
  19. I think the majority are worried about what will happen if Manning is still here at the end of the season. We will lose Tommy, for one, sure, and how many others will disengage from the academy? I'm not sure what the point of putting Jed Meerholz on the bench was; he could have let the kid have a cameo. Now that I am sure the season is over, relegation is not on the cards unless we fail to take any points between now and the end of the season. I'd like to see the loans sidelined (Yes, Twine, I don't think he's terrible, but unless we sign him, we'll be playing against him next season) and academy players at least reassured that there is still a pathway.

  21. I used to donate blood to the Welsh Blood service to give some Welsh players the option of playing for England instead.
  22. There is a half-chance the worms will also be feasting on me. However, I'll be ripe to run for US president.
  23. I'm feeling a name change to "Harry's Scorned Girlfriend". That being said he's been very hit and miss, no pun intended.
