  1. Hahahaha this tickled me, it will never be mathematically impossible to finish as high as we can.
  2. If he'd have caught him in the ass then he would have been Southampton net
  3. Midweek, 1997/1998 season vs Plymouth, we hit the woodwork more times than I can remember, and Mickey Bell popped in two almost identical set-piece free kicks. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=114683169247071
  4. Ipswich are doing a proper Arsenal at the moment, falling away in the new year in epic style.
  5. I'll tell you where I'm coming from around Ipswich even we've taken 3 points out of their lead over the last 10 games. The likes of Sunderland and Coventry are taking way more out them 10 points ain't that much if you're dropping 4 points to your rivals every six games. At this rate I recon they will finish 6th with a way smaller gap than many expected December time.
  6. They've had a fair few expensive loans in, not sure it's going to pay off for them. If they don't fall away completely which they currently look like doing then they will be facing either Southampton or Leeds in the playoffs which should be too much for them.
  7. This is a bit of incoherent are you saying we should be promoted because Luton got up? Ipswich have gambled and are falling away my bet is they end up in the playoffs if they're lucky in May.
  8. He's generally been given the benefit of the doubt, but he's not beyond criticism. Maybe you're conflating general distain for the hierarchy over the sacking of Pearson with criticism of Manning. For example ripping a performance as not top six is not a dig at Manning it's aimed at the hierarchy.
  9. I think those two are a good example of where we weren't weaker, but starting a tiered Bell Infront of Tanner, Wells/Knight up top over Conway/Wells I would assume is down to Knight recovering better. Cornick over Anis who's been good recently, I would also assume is down to recovery. McCrorie over Tanner for me in that shape. There were lots of changes not surprising given that recovery for different individuals will have played a role.
  10. I get you, but I think you're missing the fact he's put out a weaker 11 today (forced) it certainly wouldn't have been my pick, it's worked out and he's though great, changed to the formation that was effective against Forrest and balls up the second half. I think we had some seriously leggy players today, and they've done exceptionally well to get the win away from home, it's mental to think they, got back at 2am Thursday did recovery stretching and prep for this game Thursday afternoon most likely, then traveled up to Boro Friday and then got this result. They all deserve a nice rest Monday with a nice sports massage.
  11. I hope that we stop ******* about committing hari-kari every bloody 4 years or so. Expectations we will bobble around in this div for a few seasons before having a shocking slide back into league one, only to appoint a decent manager who wins everything in sight, then we won't back him, sack him and then we will have a bit of a wobble, followed by an financial blip, and another wobble some stability for a bit, and then rinse and repeat until I retire.
  12. They went via our academy but were signed into the academy in their late years after already playing men's football.
  13. To be honest I think it's irrelevant where points come from as long as we pick them up and are capable of beating anyone. We've shown that with West Ham and we could well do well in the playoff's. If we manager to get to the playoffs which given our transitional state (inflicted on us by BT, JL and co) the best we can hope for is maybe a beat Forrest get a nice game out of it, and pick up some nice wins.
  14. We need to be taking points off Brighton to keep them within reach. Common the laddies Can't really afford to get relegated with Newcastle on the march and only one up one down in the championship.
  15. I'm not objected to a change of ownership it just has to be the right sort. I remember when Scott Davidson lost his marbles trying to buy us into the prem we got relegated and loaded up with debt and drunk players on fat contracts, ever since been Steve's in charge it's been way more sane.
  16. I am perplexed by that number of two thirds, I mean SL has a lot of loans in the club they have very preferential interest rates. A buyer of anything other than a sovereign fund would mean replacing those loans with a huge amount of PE money at a higher rate of interest and we would in return more than likely put us in a horrible financial position. I'm pissed off with them sure, but conversely I'm careful what I wish for.
  17. Me neither, exceptionally good pass and very quick feet from Bowen.
  18. Jesus you lot are older than the sun. I think I had some Gola football boots when they were not too fashionable, the first pair I procured for myself were new balance boots in the early 90s, when I had my own money to burn.
  19. Depressingly Scott is making a huge impact for Bournemouth even with the few games he's played. Just shows how good he was, and what a miss he is.
