  1. I did exactly that Graham and google came up with an industrial company in Spain………
  2. Not a synonym that many on here recognised
  3. Good guess - Superjack can explain.
  4. So does mine - what does SUAFO mean?
  5. How many of us thought that Southgate would take England to the final of the last Euros? Not many, me included having witnessed some truly grim performances in the group phase. Obviously the priority is to get out of the group but the turgid way it was achieved was really really grim and I was certainly expecting England to lose in the next stage.
  6. That’s a real bummer. I’m tempted to buy PRTV
  7. That’s disappointing. You’d have thought a local derby would be a priority game.
  8. I’ve got moved to TNT so I assume that I can access the Gloucester v Bears via Discovery then?
  9. Both team had senior players missing and not a true reflection of where England are. The first 45 was surprisingly decent given Southgate’s usual ultra careful style but reverted to type second half. Friendlies give a Southgate an opportunity to look at different players and I think there are 4 more before the Euros start. By then he’ll hopefully have a fully fit squad available.
  10. My buddy is a die hard Bears fan and at the Saints game reckoned that the Gloucester v Bears will be in the Discovery Channel red button - I wasn’t aware that Discovery channel had a red button facility. I’ll try it next Saturday
  11. Not a bad first half - good to see England playing some front foot football for a change.
  12. BT has been at City 25 years as player, manager and in the academy set up. Within those years he’s clearly done a decent job apart from when he was appointed manager - which he’s freely admitted was a mistake. His dedication and skills are obviously well respected by the Lansdowns and his elevation to a more senior position is well deserved. That said……whether he’s actually up to the role - only time will tell.
  13. Away at Kingsholm next Saturday. Not on live tv tho unfortunately
  14. It been a long standing ambition of SL to have a squad made up with a combination of youth and experience that’s capable holding its own in the Championship and pushing for the promised land. This article shows that much of ambition is being fulfilled- apart from the ultimate ambition of reaching the PL. Let’s not forget that Tinnion played an impressive part in developing and raising the profile of our academy and maybe his elevation into his current position is a reward for his efforts. I really don’t think that he deserves all the shit that he gets on here.
  15. It ain’t rocket science RRL.
  16. I loved that stuff! Used to have in the Hole of Wall , don’t remember it in Tiffany’s tho.
  17. I prefer the the Robin - it’s far more unique to us than the old crest which was very similar to others clubs. These days many clubs have easily identifiable badges. Wolves is the obvious one as is the Foxes. In the PL Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs along with every club are easily recognised simply by their badge.
  18. There are different narratives about the origin of St George as our patron saint. One says that he was a Roman officer tortured to renounce his Christian faith. Another that he was the 12th Century Crusaders who invoked his name in battle. As for slaying the dragon - that obviously didn’t occur but the ‘dragon’ was euphemism for the devil. It reality like most Saints history is clouded in imagination and mystery.
  19. So which country are you emigrating to?
  20. Just saw that the England shirt is in the shops at £120 - not that I’d ever consider buying one as I still have the England shirt from 1996. Unfortunately it must have shrunk in the wash as I can’t get into it anymore………
  21. I think you’re in the minority TD. I’m proud to be an Englishman, our history, our beautiful countryside and architecture and we’re the envy of many Americans and antipodeans. Whats not to like? Btw - I’m not including politics in that.
  22. We all know that the is the England flag. The cross that Nike have come up with is nothing like it. As a proud Englishman born and bred it’s a bloody disgrace that my flag should be disrespected in this manner in the name of ‘inclusion’……..jeez……. If a person is born in England then they’re English no matter what your gender, sexuality or race is. That’s ‘inclusive’ enough for me.
  23. It’s woke because of Nike being concerned about the reaction of certain elements of English society. Nike are trying to placate the minority but it’s backfired. That said it could have been a sales strategy. Any publicity even negative publicity is good for sales.
  24. If they have it hasn’t been reported. Woke gone mad, either that or the design was decided over a liquid lunch.
  25. I see on BBC a news that Starmer is urging Nike to reconsider England kit: Keir Starmer urges change over St George's Cross design https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-68632034
