It already had been. Alese had seriously kicked the $#|¥ out of it, got booked and then led down in the penalty area wanting treatment.
Sykes did a great job protecting it and chirping at the GK until he retreated to his goal lineGot booked for it too didn’t he?

Ban boots with studs and blades. They cause lots of injuries and it would make football much more entertaining
-
Gambled and didn’t pay off with the selection. Let’s face it though, we would have won if not for a loss of concentration across the whole team for a period of the match. The equaliser was not down to the front three.

Preston player sent off for a bad challenge. Shocked, I tell you

Bet they wish they still had peak Will Grigg

Sometimes this forum is amazing. Chapeau to those helping out.

.....as he did twice.
Strikes me it's a bit like GJ with us ( and Yeovil to be fair) when with some managers they are the right man, for the right club at the right time.
With Southampton he was plainly the wrong manager, at the wrong club and the wrong time.
IMO it shows that Luton have a good set up, and the quality of the first team manager/coach has less impact on the team/club performance than other factors. His successor is being just as successful and they only had a smll blip after the change.

This bit makes me wonder:
The contract is in two stages, with an initial £6.14M for the design of the for multi-disciplinary works on the project including 5.5km of new railway between Pill and Portishead, with new stations at both. A business case will then be put forward in spring 2024, after which VolkerFitzpatrick will be instructed to construct the line if it is given the green light.
Funding is in place, planning permission granted. Business case for what?
There’s funding for design but if the cost escalates too much, and it will be re-costed once the design is complete, then it may not proceed.

Obviously many deaths and a really terrible situation in the region. Christian Atsu, former Newcastle player is missing in the rubble

Veally bad puns

Blackburn are appealing an EFL refusal to register two players due to late paperwork. Feels like a smokescreen to assuage fans
-
Presumably we could sign out of contract players? Otherwise we really shafted Martin and Klose by releasing them yesterday

Clevedon pier in the background of One show. A sign?

Completely get the Gordon one, Everton are a shambles at the minute and Newcastle looks a great environment to be in. Don’t understand what Newcastle see in him to pay 40 mill but they obviously see something that can be developed.
Caicedo one is very odd, he’s at a club with a big chance of European football and he’s leaving at the first opportunity. Really like him as a player but he’s not even had one good full season yet
Chance of a Premier League winners medal tho, plus a shedload of cash

Remember how well we did early in the season when Antoine was injured

Anyone else remember "AKINBIYI PLEASE STAY" painted on one of the rock faces on Avon Gorge?
Worth remembering £1.2m was a lot of money back then. We spent a few mill that summer, whereas Watford who came up with us spent about £300k.
Watford were promoted straight up to the Premier League. We finished bottom of the league.
Classic Bristol City
Spent it all on forwards, didn’t we? Tony Thorpe and Soren Andersen
Then tried to bring in defenders on the cheap. As you say, classic City

Might be a higher sell on percentage

We apparently rejected £10m last week, why would we accept it this week?

Sounds like the start of one of those safety adverts we had as kids.
Dont tell me you went out to a power station with a frisbee the next day.
The day they cancelled the kids safety videos was the beginning of the end. That frisbee one still gives me the shivers

John Cleese to `resurrect` Fawlty Towers
in General Chat
Posted
It’s not really a Fawlty Towers revival, it’s a new John Cleese show and the only way he could get it funded was to say he would bring back Basil Fawlty. In reality he’s just playing himself
