Could be a bit short-sighted going on past loyalties - when John Ward joined us in ‘97 I’m sure there were a fair few City unhappy given his Gash connections but he managed to sort out the absolute state of our team that Jordan had gotten us into and somehow clinch a playoff place then won promotion in his first full season.
Cotts is a very good lower leagues manager and would probably do a decent job so if the “Rag Ass Rovers” myth prevents him from turning things around at the Mem then it’s a great pity.
The big difference between now and then was
the internet
Facebook and social media

Yeah sensible post I'd agree with most of the above. I can see Cotterill being tempted given he lives in Bristol, but let's not forget he will have earned a decent wedge with his last 3 clubs being City, Forest and Birmingham. Rovers would most likely be unable to compete with those salaries.
Very true about salary but like in any other walk of life
a smaller salary is better then nothing
who knows

Who cares what they put on the land... as long as it’s not a football stadium with BRFC on it I don’t care
second of may 1990 when they really thought they were going to be top dogs for years to come

We did that night
I hate to say it but in my 35 years of following city that is the one night when you truly had the upper hand over us . In a game that matter most in a season when we went toe to toe every week you got the 3 points that might as we’ll been a 100. In the+years that have passed the gap has got bigger every year but that night still hurts like ****.....

Do you support the stadium or the team you grew up with?
I don’t understand the argument?
Both teams are perennial underachievers, yes it’s nice to have a great stadium but would you swap allegiance if the shoe were on the foot?
Never

Everyone who posts on here will know a few roves fans, either from work or living in the same area etc. The ones I know are through the england connection and truth be told most are ok . What really got my goat was when the fake shake took over and all off a sudden there giving it large ( i dont think social media helps) there doing this and going to do that , but yes calling it the Waqa shack does show they can laugh at them self’s but nowhere near as much as we do . SIDE NOTE are they giving away Liverpool shirts some Where’ ? They seem to be springing up everywhere......
-
Just remember when the fake shake took over and what they were going to do
prem in 3 years
ashton gate as there training ground
taking him down Gloucester Road as the new king above there heads
slagging Steve lansdown
the list goes on and on
**** them

It again sums up the huge gap between the 2 clubs when they are coming in there pants about a team we have played most seasons in the last few years. They will rant a rave about it being a great little ground when we think it’s a dump .....

There results never really bothered me that much in the last few years UNTIL the fake shake took over and they all started coming in there pants on what they were going to do and how they were going to put us in our place . For a while they really did think they were going to have the upper hand big time

On my travels and you look at the iPad for results to see rovers have lost 2.1 to the mighty Stanley . I’m sat here pissing my self at the richest club in Bristol loseing again

100% genuine. Went to his GP with a sore foot and doc advised him to shed some weight. He said he’d like to go to the gym but he’s afraid people would look at him - can’t think why...
Totally agree think these tattoos are genuine.was chatting to a rovers fan in Whitchurch who had Liverpool tattoos on his legs as well . in all fairness he was quite a good laugh, but he was a big lump so can see why the doc told him to loose some weight

At Cheltenham jazz festival, walked into a pub to catch the last few minutes of sky sports news and could not believe what was happening. It was the closest I’ve ever felt as revenge for the second of may 1990....what a great summer.
