If someone could set up a poll to find out what we think is the funniest laugh we've had at the Rovers expense that would be great.
May I nominate:
1) Mansfield playing last game of 2014 season in a kit borrowed from Rovers
2) The signing of Matty Taylor
3) Any other suggestion
4) Any other suggestion.
FWIW, I'd vote 2) all day long. It still makes me laugh!
No 3 has got to be carrying the messiah down Gloucester Road

In the paper today it said EFL are considering playing all remaining EFL matches at 10 to 15 Championship grounds with 3 to 4 matches being played each day. I would have thought if that happens we would be one of those since we're the only club in this area and we have an advanced pitch capable of supporting that number of games, could mean the Gas playing their remaining fixtures at AG?
I would imagine it would be behind closed doors in which care I doubt if the players would care less , all they would want to do is finish the remaining season.

Absolutely no one knows when it will all start again and in what format

I’ll never forget the day the fake shake took over and all of a sudden they were coming for us.
4 years on and they are still forever in our shadow
and they carried him down Gloucester Road like the messiah

75,000x£20 (as a very rough average of the value of a ST seat, away ticket and potd price) is £1.5m. Project that over 23 home games and we're pulling in at least £7m more than them in ticket sales. I may have got those figures wrong but it seems a fair estimate. Sure our overheads will be higher - tents are cheap to maintain, and we buy in proper Fanta - but it's a stark reminder of the financial gap.
Suspect we'll get over 20k for most home games. Reading at home in October is midweek so we might dip down below that on that night. But bar a spectacular drop down the league table we should still average 21k over the season.
Reading at home is a Saturday I think? October 5

Gary/Lee Johnson (both would need a frontal lobotomy to even consider it) would be about as popular as skeletor becoming the head coach at City. Still we'd probably sign his mate Neymarrr on the back of it.
Deluded or what. They have absolutely no idea of reality and live inside some 1970's dream world.

Just watched Brighton players walking up what looks like a back lane into rovers ground on points west
god what a dump of a ground....

It just shows how tinpot they are when they make such a big deal about a former player coming to play at that dump

Do you think bringing back the north and south league might be the answer? Less travelling and more local games

I see one poster said they are miles behind us on and off the pitch and yet he hasn't been banned for being a Sh1thead. Has freedom of speech broken out over there or are their Mods getting a bit sloppy?
I think most rovers fans with any sense will openly admit we are absolutely light years ahead in every department on and off the pitch . You only have to look at what we have spent this summer to see the gap between the 2 clubs ,and to be totally honest I can’t see the gap getting any closer in near future

Bristol City are an incredibly well run club. I think it is inevitable that- if Lansdown remains in charge- they will get to the Premier League one day. It might not be as quickly as some would like but I do think they will get there.
I'm pinning my hopes on enough meatheads giving him enough stick, that he takes his money and goes home
I think even the most ardent rovers fans has to admit the club is going in the right direction the way the club is run off the pitch . The ground seems to be used most days for one thing or another and the live shows this year has Really put the ground on the map. Any thing above 8th this season is again progress on last year and as a fan I’ll take that every day off the week

Wasn’t it the Bolton chairman that wanted the premiership ring fenced

That’s actually a Subbuteo stadium with a normal size calling card.
Stood next to 4 lads on the train back from the game yesterday all about 22 /23 , 2 city and 2 rovers . They were saying they had there flags up next to each other in the main square and the interest it caused. In all fairness they were all sound lads , new to watching England and enjoyed going away and mixing with other fans of clubs.

Part of me wishes they were in the same league as us and giving us some proper competition.
love or hate it the 89/90 season it was brilliant the way we were swapping top spot some weeks and having a real interest on how they were getting on
ill go and get a very heavy duty tin hat.....

1990 was tough to take at the time but in retrospect it really didn’t amount to much - we went up too, had the satisfaction of effectively relegating the Rent Boys in ‘93, and from then on their bragging rights over us became fewer and farther between - finished above us and won a couple of games in our dreadful seasons of 95/96 and 99/00, but where we’d couldnt buy a win at Twerton we won three times in a calendar year at their current dump and they’ve pretty much been in the wilderness ever since.
You could make a case that they had a hold over us until we won a promotion with a title in 2015, but then even that advantage vanished - while we finished runner up to them and went up in 1990, 25 years later we were promoted as champions and they went up as runners up two leagues down - having fortuitously come through the lottery of penalties.
1990 is an irrelevance now.
Regarding 1990 it still hurts like hell
and though I hate to say it , it is the one thing they will always have over us
magic season with a tragic ending.....
