  1. I can't deny it's a wonderful city I've been many times in the summer around Cabots & the harbourside. In my younger years also has nights out at Papillons and the beer Keller and even stopped off for something to eat one night at the black & white cafe in St Paul's
  2. No no we stayed in Bristol and went home then following day?
  3. Not sure if I was day tripper just a young school kid getting a birthday treat
  4. Good post, I agree the South West isn't a hotbed for football unlike the the Norh East & West. I also think there's too many alternative things to spend disposable income on. Football crowds seemed to peak in the 60's through to early 70's with our record crowd being 32,000 in 1972. Am I right in thinking you had over 40,000 in the old Ashton Gate years ago as I went there against Leeds & Man Utd in the late 70's and there was 36,000 there
  5. No history that I'm aware of just idiots that were probably tanked up thinking they were clever
  6. Thing are changing now Power has gone? All joking aside if we redevelop the stadium there's no reason why we can't emulate Readings average attendances but you need the facilities to attract a new fanbase and with a population of a quarter of a million its waiting to be tapped into. We're not coming for anyone! just taking small steps and seeing where it takes us hopefully the new owner will deliver the rest.
  7. At least we got two decent stands and we can get 15,000 inside unlike their dump
  8. If 2000 mugs want to pay £23 that's £46,000 in the coffers?
  9. They obviously can't be trusted as it's a 1pm kick off Saturday lunchtime!
  10. The club is being tight lipped about any Rasism comments. At the end of the game there was a lot of banter towards Cole and his ex Cheryl but nobody has said they heard any racist remarks.
  11. They gave us 700 tickets at their place and before they start knocking us it's not like Horfield is a nice place and they should look at their average home attendance which is embarrassing considering they see themselves as big as you guys?
  12. I may upset a few but given the right financial backing I still think we have much more potential than your South Gloucestershire rivals!
  13. I totally agree let's hope they've learnt from that!
  14. Cheers Baba, I guess not knowing the whole story it's hard to say if their demise down the league was down to Garner as we don't know who chose the players but Barton got in around eleven players and he hasn't made any difference. Here at Swindon we have a decent director of football who seems to have lots of contacts and knows what players will fit Garners style of play. I would also imagine their quagmire of a pitch would make it hard for even Man City to play decent football
  15. Cheers Swede, I love the passing game we play just think we over played it with the short goal kicks when it would have been easier to go long and take away the threat of getting caught on the ball which happened last night. i don't understand why the Sags dislike Garner so much as it's clear to see that he likes to play good football rather than standard league 2 thuggery kick & rush. Even the Man City supporters were complimentary on how we played, never gave up when we could have collapsed in the first half and that we weren't a dirty team and one that wanted to play without any dirty antics. I've also got to say what a pleasure it was to see world class players and that a top premiership club respected the competition when they could easily have put out more talented kids like Palmer.
  16. We were given a footballing lesson this evening but most teams are each week so no shame in that. Too much messing around at the back but hopefully Garner will realise it just dosen't work and take the more direct approcach from now on. From a Swindon supporter I'm pleased that we never gave up when realistically the gulf between the divisions has become too big but at least It gave supporters the opportunity to see world class players as well as making a lot of money from Gate and TV revenue.
  17. The stand at your training complex holds more than that carport looking thing!
  18. That guy showing the middle finger may be a member on here?
