  1. Travel 3 miles away from the the town centre it's really quite nice that's why so many new families have moved here and bought new houses for thousands less than they can in neighbouring counties with good links to London, South West & the Midlands. Also it's not the small railway town it was renowned for with a population of 225,000 and growing fast.
  2. Even worse if you played them at their place as away numbers would be reduced on police advice.
  3. Home or away would be a cracking game & atmosphere if it's at the gate we can all go together!
  4. That would be great playing you In the refurbished Ashton Gate and sure to be a great atmosphere
  5. Firms & hooliganism was never my thing just a STFC supporter of 45 years
  6. You would have to go back through the thread a couple of months ago when the attendance was given out.
  7. Did they tell you they only took 300 to Barrow?
  8. Just pleased that we're doing well after the nightmare under Power and all of his shenanigans and today was our eight straight away win on the trot.
  9. I may be wrong but I'm sure they only took around 1200-1400 when they played them a couple of months ago so maybe their fanbase is dwindling?
  10. No but we're talking about the opposition isn't a massive draw and that we don't have a massive fanbase compaired to BCFC
  11. Would Barnsley, Peterborough, Preston etc away in the 3rd round be an exciting tie for you
  12. It was hardly an exciting draw for either club hence the crowd of 4300 of which over 2000 were from Swindon which is pretty decent considering it's not a local Derby, close to Xmas, Orient & Barrow away next week and we play them again in the league in two weeks time.
  13. A good turn out considering it's 90 miles away and only against a league 2 club
  14. Swindon win 2-1 away at Wallsall and 2000+ fans celebrating?
  15. My letter which got published was asking if a substitute player could be substituted as this was around the time when two subs were allowed.
  16. I was also a paperboy for a while in the 70's at to be in the newsagents for 6am which wouldn't be allowed now
  17. Such a heartbreaking story let's hope all clubs and football fans respect this little boy and give the love he deserves.
  18. Great memories all those years ago and sadly technology has taken away the joy of going to the newagent to pick up your favourite comics on a week end.
  19. Around 1973 I had the star letter printed in Shoot magazine and should have had a £2 postal order sent in the post for my efforts but it never arrived which angered me for years! I always bought Shoot, Roy of the Rovers and Whizzer & Chips every week?
