It would appear Nick Piggs and Boycie have decided to pull the plug regarding finance and they are in deep trouble if / when they lose the appeal. I'm pretty sure their Wonga loan is secured against the dump as well? Would I be right in saying Wonga and super Sainsburys' could force them to sell the Mem?
Ah well, Xmas soon eh?

He hadn't about a month ago KM as I saw him briefly. I believe he has had part of his tongue removed due to throat cancer. Unfortunately, he's not long for this world and he, obviously, didn't look well when I saw him although he greeted me with his usual smile and a wave.
I've always got on well with the bloke but many (as you said) don't know his story. I never knew Kelvin but I know the effect his passing had on Tony.

Too much more of performances like this and I reckon Cott's could be on dodgy ground. It's all well and good moaning that we don't have the quality etc etc but SL won't put up with this rubbish for long.
Hopefully, it's just a bad day but we sound awful.

I'll give the saggy credit for doing his blogs, no one (as far as I know does the same at our place??).
I assume he's doing some sort of 'media' thing at college. If he is. the occasional 'oh **** they've scored' probably isn't the best advert for his 'skills.
As for the 'Let's all do the steward', really? As the blogger says ' we were brilliant in the 2nd half' yet they spent most of it joking with the steward? I would have been watching the cough 'brilliant' football myself. Actually, I wouldn't as it's the r**ers and I would rather have teeth pulled than watch them!

Bristol City Council have recognised the significance of the historic war memorial sports ground, by listing it as an Asset of Community Value. The ACV application was submitted by The Bishopston Society. ACV status offers the local and wider Bristol community a stake in determining the future of the Memorial Ground. This is a sensible change of direction – recent experience has seen plans to plonk towering blocks of flats on the Memorial Ground, or replace it altogether with a huge supermarket with all the noise and air pollution that entails. All being well, there’ll be no more disrespectful talk of the war memorial as a problem brownfield site.
Another very welcome development is that Bristol’s Ceremony of Remembrance parade and service is to be held at the Memorial Ground next year. This event is not being held at the Cenotaph in November 2016, due to the remodelling of the centre for Metrobus. Congratulations to Bristol Rovers Football Club for hosting the high profile remembrance event, for which the Memorial Ground is a fitting venue. 2016 will be the hundredth anniversary of the Battle of the Somme, which did for so many of the sportsmen soldiers and volunteer intake.
After the Great War, Bristol’s immediate idea for the city’s first substantial war memorial was heartfelt, insightful and practical – long term good would come of bad. Healthy sport and remembrance have gone hand in hand ever since.
The long history of rugby and football clubs playing spectator sport at The Mem has created a distinct atmosphere to the area. The roar of the stadium crowd can be heard across Horfield and Bishopston, as far as St Andrews Park and Lockleaze. Elderly residents, whose parents contributed to the 1920s fundraising effort to pay for the facility, have spoken of how they take comfort in this ‘sound of Horfield’.
Furthermore, the President of Bristol Rugby Former Players, has stated that “The memorial is not only for those who wore the famous blue and white jersey, but for all rugby players who died for their country.” The Memorial Ground could be adopted as the national rugby war memorial? Living on the dark side and a fair few (misguided) mates that are gas, I can't help but take the piss without mercy. That said, I do dislike them intensely but not as badly as they dislike us.
It's great to be a red in east Bristol tbh, loads of kids wearing our beloved red shirt and loads of old school gas twisted with jealousy!
All that said, I would rather see a young 'un in a gas shirt than a Man U / Arsenal one. Obviously, I would report the parent for mental cruelty but support a local side rather than a team on sky IMHO.

Yes their stadium is bigger but it looks like kids Lego from various different toys thrown together and the atmosphere most of the time is terrible I've been told by many shitheads.
Our blackthorn end is louder than any of their stands.HaaHaa, spoken like a true loser!

They had less than 400 at Morecombe on Saturday. Knowing the Gasheads obsession with attendances I told a Sag at work that their away following was 'tinpot', 'embarrassing' and 'pathetic' as that's the jibes I get from him every time City take less than 800 to an away match.
Of course...silly me...I forgot that most Rovers fans don't like to stand amongst their own on their travels....the angry response I got as his eyes bulged out of his big red face was "well, they didn't include all the Gas in the ome ends did they SHITHEAD". Yeah, right....

I think that there is definitely a group who are interested, and that they are people who have not been associated with Rovers previously. It is n doubt a pipe dream for all the boxes above to be ticked, but, hopefully an offer which will give the club a chance to establish financial stability for the future.
I think that most Rovers fans would be happy with an SL situation! He is a supporter of the club into which he's poured a lot of money, and his son is also a genuine supporter - so what's not to like?

First of all a club "insider" said that Higgs wouldn't dignify the rumour with a response. A few days later Higgs has given a little known ITV reporter the ambiguous quote above. Why doesn't he just put a statement on the official club website categorically denying that there is any truth regarding this matter - with no room for different interpretations?
I've no idea ITN, it's your club (for your sins) so what do you think?
It seems too 'perfect' for someone to come in, pay for the UWE, clear all debts and put £Millions into the team. I just can't see it as it answers all your prayers in one go with no return. Please excuse my scepticism but it's too 'ideal' WTGR. Why would an outside person put the best part of £60M (eg: UWE, clearing the debts and £10M for players ) for no return?
