Is this happening?

Top 10 budget…..really?
Find that hard to believe now!
Making the decision now he’s in the final part of his contract. We’ve got another 30-odd games to go.
Why not get the injuries back and then see where we go?
The Lansdowns and Tinnion wanting any excuse to get rid.
To be replaced by……a manager from the lower leagues!

Uninspiring if true…..
Nige to Manning ……. Hmmmm …….let’s hope we are seeking better than this!

Really? They created several good chances first half and had they taken them it could have been a very different evening.
People should also note the bit at the bottom about potentially someone from the continent...
Jose Mourinho?

Luke Williams is my guess.
Certainly been some money put on him today - 2nd favourite now.
Will be even more concerned if this is who we end up with though…..

I wish I hadn't watched that.
We are completely and utterly ******.
Yep.
Has made me feel worse than I did before - so the new HC will do it our way. So what if they wanna play a different way, in a different formation?
What decent (better) coach/manager than Nige are we going to be able to attract, working under those “rules”?!
I can see a L1 coach coming in - Manning? Possibly, even Luke Williams, having watched this.
How to destroy the feel good factor in one fell swoop - utterly clueless and as you say, we are ******!
The one thing we as supporters must do though on Sat is get RIGHT behind Curtis and the boys! This ain’t none of their doing.

Given previous comments re Luton being a model for us to follow, can see it being Nathan Jones

I’d say that knowing the Lansdowns it will be Curtis Flemming until the end of the season if he can steady the ship over the next 3 games or so . There will be no re-invention of the wheel , just a continuation of what Pearson started . He’d be grateful for the opportunity and has become accustomed to working on a shoestring budget . Equally , did the board honestly get rid of Nige because of our form and league position ? Probably not after recent events so they’ll not be interested in a new broom approach .
I don’t think Curtis would want it.
Also think that if there was a chance that he did/was going to get the job then JE and DR would have stayed for now…..the fact they have gone, suggests to me that they have someone lined up to come in, with their own team

Absolutely gutted…..
Nige,
You’ve been brilliant at a time where we really needed you to change the culture of the club. I genuinely believe that you would have taken us to the next level.
Thanks for all you did……

Sad thing about yesterday was that as much effort as the players put in you just knew we would lose. Felt sorry for sykes having to play full back again. So restricting for him.Realise we had no choice.
Agreed - always going to be tough with so many players out and for a number in the team, playing out of position - thought Sykes for one, comes out of yesterday with huge credit…
Just hope we get a few back over the next week or so (as Nige suggested would be the case) so that we can get back to winning ways.
The next two games before the International break feel huge now, for a number of reasons…

The owners are on manoeuvres and have already been looking for a potential replacement for Pearson for three weeks (since the Leeds defeat).
They've spoken to several potential managers already, one of whom is Gary Rowett.
They've spoken to many agents and so my assumption is that agent chat has got back to Pearson, hence his comments last Saturday that he was fighting for his job and his comments today that he may, or may not, be still here next Saturday.
Bottom line is it's when not if. I'd have thought failure to beat Wednesday and a decision could be made.
Most concerning to me is that one of the people that told me Pearson's departure is imminent, also told me that Barton would be sacked too...
We are probably waiting for Mark Robins to be sacked…..after all, given all the money they’ve spent, they are hardly pulling up trees!
-
Probably be the next QPR manager
-
SL won’t speak as he’s above that!
He’s proving to be a spineless owner at a time where the club needs some direction - it currently feels absolutely rudderless!

Tough game today against an in form team. As if our injury problems weren’t bad enough I’m hearing that Matty James is out for the foreseeable with a ligament injury!
Hope you are wrong about Matty James…..

Noticed how City on Twitter have said Cardiff are opening the turnstiles to away fans for food and drink.
In other words, you’re not getting served elsewhere.
From 1pm though - will be plenty of City turn up well before that…..

Araoye hasn’t made the bench in a while, & has been playing LB for the 21s, no way he starts.
We basically have 2 choices; who partners Dickie at CB if Roberts is out & which 2 of Cornick, Bell & Weimann play up top with Conway.
I’d pick Idehen & put Bell on the bench.
O’Leary
Sykes Dickie Idehen Pring
TGH James Knight
Cornick Conway Weimann
I’d go with this team with the exception of Conway…..think he needs a rest.
Play Cornick down the middle (his best position) and give Mehmeti a chance down the left with Andi on the right.
Think we need Pring and Sykes as they are, given that they have Meite and he’ll exploit any inexperience.

@1960maaan I get the impression that there is no contract extension regardless of his health. I think he could be running up mountains, fighting wolves, burying ostrich heads in the sand…and there’ll be no contract.
He’s seeing his contract through…unless relieved of his duties beforehand.
I hope I’m wrong, but I feel like it’s just a matter of time.
The cynic in me says if it wasn’t for the fact we have Ipswich followed by Cardiff, we’d have a new manager in place, but these are two games for the hierarchy to “sink Nige”. SL probably though Robins would launch the first damage.
Its an awful way for me to think, wins and draws probably keep him on life-support, but that’s how it feels to me.
Bloody depressing state of affairs in the OTIB world of speculation - but what are we supposed to think / speculate after several comms this season from Nige, and also PA on SOTC and SL on Guernsey Radio, following previous messaging from Tins - Plan A and Plan B, and SL “what football makes it can spend”.
Arghhhhhhh!
Coventry not pulling up trees after all their investment in the summer either!
SL probably hoping that Mr Robins gets the boot there so that he can then finally get “his man”……..can so see this happening.
As you say @Davefevs - such a sad state of affairs……
The silence from the Board is deafening and if you ask me, tells us everything we need to know re their views on Nige.

@GrahamC has kinda answered it. It’s a fair question, whether nibbling or not.
As per my post @ 10:52 yesterday on this thread:
you have to look at the nature of each injury too
In some respects the simple answer to your question, yes it is.
In an ideal world you’d be able to do a bit more rest / rotate / keep fresh. As it stands we haven’t lost many players to muscle / fatigue type injuries this season, but we might over the coming weeks. As fans we know players like Matty James might be a player who’d find it invaluable to get a one game rest, based on his 2 seasons here. It’s hard to do that though.
Most fans wanted 2 more players, a combo of 2 of either a CB, a CM and a CM…maybe GK. I think 2 players would make a big difference. I still can’t get my head around why we couldn’t create some room in the wage budget (set in March). Nor did I buy the explanation PA gave on SOTC re Scott, and that’s not a dig at PA either.
Out interest what was Kingy’s injury last night….hamstring?
Yep, King went off with hamstring injury - having a scan per Nige’s presser earlier……we are gonna need Roberts at LB on Sat, just to put together a half-decent back four ….. could be a really challenging afternoon on Sat
