Having watched the interview, I personally thought Nige was his usual self.
The interesting point was regarding others potentially leaving - clearly, he wouldn’t be happy if we were left with minimal time if “the club” accepted an offer for one of our players.
Sadly though, I have come to the conclusion that Nige will see his contract out and then leave - I still firmly believe that he is the manager to get us into the PO (and promoted) and that’s something that I find hard to accept when it appears that SL sees things a different way…..

I was just thinking the same, how a fake tweet has woken everyone up again
He's long gone into the sunset
Especially as his number 22 has gone to our latest signing

Usually I wouldn't be too concerned and say a bit of disagreement between two senior figures at a football club isn't necessarily a bad thing.
But Nige was lucky to survive the push last season and that was with Richard Gould who was more likely to fight his corner. Nige won't be afforded the same this time around.
It's a crap cliche and said too much on football, AND it's still incredibly early doors, but Nige does "need results" and he needs them pretty quickly.
Hanging around the bottom 8 isn't going to be tolerated again.
Does SL honestly think that in selling Scott and not replacing him (or strengthening the squad elsewhere) that we should be any better (in terms of league position) than last season?
When you see the recruitment going on elsewhere (Cov, Brum and Hull to name a few), surely he can see that we are likely to be falling further behind….

But it wasn't the CEO that sold Scott ...
Jokes aside, I'm not surprised at all to hear that from someone else.
In Nige’s words, it was “the club” that sold Scott - I sense it was for less than £25m which is why Nige has sounded so fed-up since the sale went through…..add to it that we are unlikely to add any real quality before the window shuts next Friday, there’s no wonder he’s disgruntled…..
In my opinion, not hearing from our CEO in months and a lack of backing by SL in the transfer market, suggests that this is only going one way……another change of manager

Kalas has had months to sign. Whilst I accept that players have the right to see what else is available, I think it says a lot that we are nearly at the end of August and he still hasn’t signed.
Personally, I think that this ship has sailed and we should be looking elsewhere……not a signing I would make now..

Bell starts up top. Wells not in squad, another injury?
Really hope not as otherwise, we really will need to sign a striker before the end of the month

I thought he was decent for us. Flogged too much by Johnson and Holden though that his legs had gone by the end of his time here
Will always remember Brentford away when he lobbed Canos into the stands

Yeah 2.5k and that's your lot? They are all like "Please Sir can we have some more". Or proclaiming away fans in home ends, bah.
What kinda allocations do we get there out of interest?
We had 3k up there last season - their capacity is only 20k too

As others have said, especially with what happened last time, City will cross-reference details with Brum and so whilst one or two may get in, there won’t be many.

@Porto Red - hope all is OK…..as you’ve seen by the responses, there are plenty of people on here who will gladly assist in any way we can, me included.
Look after yourself…..DM me at any time.

The exuberance from those on our bench, when Matty scored, was good to see. It exemplifies the spirit and unity of purpose within our camp.
The players celebrated just as wildly as our brilliant. large and noisy band of travelling supporters.
Haven't seen that in a long while.
At long last, a stronger bond is developing between fans and players and is becoming more palpable.
This will serve us well.
Absolutely brilliant day yesterday and as you say @Bazooka Joe, to then see the response on the bench was amazing to see - the management team and squad are all in it together ….. long may it continue

Ah okay wasn't aware of that bit or had forgotten. Thanks I'll revise my views a bit.
I hope he would have backed him at minimum in line with the growth, it's the least he deserved.
NP post Scott sale will be a big test as to whether Lansdown has changed, will do the correct thing. I hope he does- think we all hope he does, NP has navigated a very difficult period for us and done it well.
Agreed - NP deserves to be backed…..next few weeks will be interesting and quite telling

At the start of the summer, the club indicated that we had a transfer plan if Scott was to go and a different one if he was to stay.
On the basis that we appear to have been planning for him to stay, I now hope/expect us to implement the “Scott gone” plan (despite us having made the signings we have) and reinvest some of the money received. City will I’m sure, have one or two lined-up as there was always the potential for him to leave later in the window.
Let’s hope so anyway as, as @Davefevs says, if this wasn’t to be the case, I think Nige would consider this position.
Lets see what happens, if/when Alex has gone.

I said it wouldn't be £25m guaranteed. The price was always a deal of £25m and Scott was firmly up for sale. Since Jan.
It's a good deal for us. A very good deal.
We need to strengthen though, if we have any aspirations of top half.
Agreed - money we simply can’t turn down, sadly.
You reckon we will strengthen?
-
One down, one to go in the chase for Alex - looking more and more likely that he will stay until January at the earliest
-
I would like/expect us to now utilise the loan market until Jan now with TC and AW both injured - leaves us light up front now…..

Wouldn’t Chair be very similar to Mehmeti?
Willock would be my preference of the two if we were ever interested/they were available….
