  1. Got to be the best £700k we’ve spent in a long, long time…..

As others have said, will be interesting to see how we line-up with big Rob is fit - perhaps Rob, Dickie and Zak with Cam and McCrorie as wing-backs?

Christian Eriksen is still playing and what happened to him was a lot worse than Tom Lockyer in the play off final

The difference being that it’s happened twice to Tom Lockyer now.

Wish him all the best in his recovery….

Mehmeti actually put some useful crosses in last night( even used his left foot ), which if we were in league 1 with a Chris Martin type centre forward would be great , but we have no strikers who attack the ball.
As for Nahki, if he was as critical of the game play on the co commentary as has been mentioned I can’t imagine he’ll be back in the squad any time soon!

Watched the game on Sky, not RobinsTV and have heard that Kal and Nahki were both being critical of what they were watching - what did they actually say?

    The gaffer needs to lead.

    Manning looks completely broken already.

After the comments by Nahki and Kai on the commentary, (which, lets be honest, were spot on) - you wonder where the dressing room is at?

You wouldn't get that kind of commentary from current players unless they felt safe in saying them.

Pretty blunt from 2 very senior players.

It honestly feels like the dressing room has turned - and Manning knows it.

Lansdown will 100% double down with more money for players in January - he cannot accept he has made probably the biggest mistake of his tenure.

If we get dicked at home on the weekend, the crowd are highly likely to vent their feelings - all that anger about Nige being sacrificed for Lansdowns ego has to come out - Manning way well walk.

He doesn't look like he wants to be here anymore.

What did Kal and Nahki say?

    Yes agreed.

Mehmeti had his best game tonight.

And tbh Yeboah also adds pace to the team although he is a bit raw.

Think Yeboah needs a loan at L1/2 (when we are in a position to let him go out on loan) - whilst he has a lot of pace, there’s little end product from him…..I’m sure he will be a decent player in years to come but he’s not ready for Championship level football at this stage

I'm worried that come Saturday, we could be at least 9 points off the play offs and potentially just a few points off the relegation zone.

Chances of having a good season are pretty much over already.

Let’s not worry about being nine points off the Play Offs - that’s a distant dream.

Right now, I will take being in the same division this time, next season……

I honestly don’t think that is the case Cov.  I think most are being very reasonable, and highlighting how unnecessary the spin from the hierarchy was…rather than digging out LM.

There appear to be several things wrong (from an amateurs point of view) that are outweighing the positives (again from an amateurs viewpoint) and ultimately the outcomes (and results) aren’t being achieved.

Tonight isn’t the end of the world, but it builds a lot of pressure coming into two home games.

Agreed @Davefevs - whilst I never wanted NP gone, LM will continue to get my full support (as will the players) as none of this is their fault.

My fear is that if we were to lose the next two games, we then head into Xmas/New Year on a seriously downward spiral and then what would lead to two absolutely huge games against teams around us (Brum and Millwall)……the pressure by that stage would be significant.

I know there’s been a lot said about how LM comes across in interviews but having just watched it back, having slept on the result, I have to say that the signs of a man feeling the pressure (already) was very evident……he will be aware of all the background “noise” re how the supporters are feeling and that can’t be easy for him, having only been here for five weeks.

Now is the time for a vocal, loyal support for Liam and the players - let’s see if they can rise to the challenge.

Testing (& hugely frustrating) times to be a City supporter……again!

  8. Do we know why Sam was played at LWB yesterday, instead of Cam?

Nothing said in post-match interviews - was anything said pre-game on Robins TV or Radio Briz?

Still seems very odd, even now! Slight injury perhaps? Rotating the squad due to 3 games in 7 days?

I’m rather encouraged by what I’ve seen so far with Manning. I know many won’t agree but that’s how I feel.

I am keen to separate the performances under Manning from the ridiculous decisions and comments from Jon, Brian & Gavin.

The reasons for sacking Pearson were, as we all know, spurious.
Their comments about top 6, top end, best squad etc etc were again, spurious.

I’ve said clearly on threads at that time that I will very much be judging the hierarchy on those comments and expectations.

However, I am not judging Manning on those same comments and expectations. I will judge Manning on what I see on the field.

In my opinion, the squad which Pearson had was a squad which I thought would be about 10th-15th, and would be one where we’d see less of the ball and be rather stodgy. A counterattack team which might get a few results against the grain but generally have less of the play but get enough results for mid table.
I wasn’t expecting any more than that.

With Manning, my expectations aren’t changing. I still think this is a mid table squad.
However, I am really encouraged (and frankly amazed) that he’s got this team playing dominant possession football and having twice as many chances as the opposition.
I actually really like how we’ve played so far. Yes, the results haven’t been there but I’ve enjoyed seeing a City team having 60%+ possession, looking like the better football team, being creative up front and making plenty of decent chances. I also liked today the battling qualities we showed - the 2nd half conditions were horrendous and we had to scrap for loose balls and aerials and we won more than our fair share - for once it seemed like the 2nd balls and ricochets mostly went our way, when can we ever say that as a City fan! Thats not luck. Its effort.

Yes, we could easily have won today. We could easily have won v Norwich. We could have got a point at Southampton. We didn’t. And that will rightly be questioned, but the performances, for me, have been encouraging.

Whatever Lansdown and Tinnion said, I will judge them at the end of the season. Failure is on their heads.
For Manning, I’m positively encouraged by how he’s managing to get this team playing - I like what I’ve seen so far. I don’t think we’re too far off. Most of the goals against haven’t been anything to do with system, shape, management etc they’ve mostly been basic individual errors.
Yes, those things will happen (they happened under Nige too). But overall I’m actually quite happy so far.

Just listening to Tommy on Radio Briz, for the first time, it’s really struck me how positive and excited the players seem to be, having LM in charge.

Whilst I didn’t agree with NP going, the “buzz” that TC had on the radio just now, has me looking forward, rather than back.

Let’s hope for another positive result on Tuesday now.

It bugs me when a manager is out there giving it the big one when you win but then just scuttle off when we lose.   Either come out after every game, win, lost or draw, or don’t come out at all.

He did come out onto the pitch at the end of the game today though!?

  11. Looked very tired today towards when he was subbed and so looked to be the right decision, but……to play him on the left to accommodate others is just crazy!

His best moments, unsurprisingly were when he moved across to the right hand side.

    Win tomorrow we go 7th!

Results couldn’t have gone any better for us today……let’s hope City are up for it tomorrow as it’s a huge chance to make a big move in terms of the league table 🤞🤞
