But for such sn experienced player, he really seemed to get in a panic in the last 5 minutes of game. He gave the ball away right on the edge of box and hit some very wild clearances, including one that seemed to go straight in the air and back towards our goal.

I would expect him to set a better example.

We’ll let him off for the last 5 mins ?

  2. I think the club have managed COVID very well and long may it continue ?

There are definitely some clubs playing games with it though and getting matches cancelled for reasons more than just COVID (e.g our friends north of the river)…..just hope that fixture backlog impact their performances when they have to catch-up on cancelled games

  3. As others have said, I’m just glad that in Nige and Gould, we have experience at the helm at a time when our ship will be in need to some serious steering through the choppy waters that we’ll experience over the next 18 months or so……

Now’s the time for us supporters to get right behind the management team and players.

    COYRs!

You’d hope SL would do his due diligence on any new owner wouldn’t you?

That’s cash flow not profit and loss.  It makes no different to the losses.

The big point for me is that revenues were levelling out after the redevelopment…whilst wages / costs continued to grow faster.  Those Wage increases are not supported by 20k attendances.  We needed to make those 25k average attendances to keep pace (ignoring covid).

I guess SL was hoping that if we were looking like a play off pushing team, we would be getting c25k crowds consistently - unfortunately, we’ve gone backwards and then Covid hit

    Some snippets.

Whilst Lansdown is around the club is relatively secure and he is the lynchpin to sustainability.

For every £100 of income we spent £212 on wages alone before anything else and that is a cause for concern.

What we have been good at is generating £70m in player sales over the past 3 years.

For FFP we should be ok due to player sales in 2019 (Webster etc) plus change in rules from efl due to covid losses.

If we avoid lockdown, next years losses should be better, but not good unless we sell someone for good money. I.e. pull a rabbit out the hat.

Investment in community projects, academy and womens football is excluded from FFP.

Record losses will be seen across the majority of clubs in a division the which is the biggest loss making league in European football. Clubs that have made a profit recently Wycombe and Rotherham were both relegated.

We do have a good commercial model but obviously massively impacted recently.

Without SL we would not be competing in the championship as he’s put in £214m in loans/shares.

Thanks @Clevedon Red- really useful insight…..much appreciated ??

  6. I’m surprised that we’ve announced these now - part of the reason must be to manage supporters expectations re . Jan Transfer Window?!

We have shown our hand now but one thing is for sure, others clubs will now know that we will be desperate to offload some players which won’t help our cause when it comes to negotiating any fees.

Can see one of TK, HNM or Bents being sold on Jan

I wonder what Richard Gould has in store for season ticket (sorry 'card') renewal prices? I'm about the limit of what I'm willing to pay to watch a competent Championship team (and we're not that). My money's on a 30% increase: "thanks for sticking with us, but we're twisting."

I don’t see City being stupid enough to raise ST costs by 30%!

Huge risk for Bournemouth to sell and risk promotion.

They looked OK without him tonight to be fair…..question is, can they afford to turn down £40m-plus and risk potential FFP issues moving forward?

Blackburn and QPR both went through restructuring and financial pain . Both have good solid managers . Shows what we can aim for but it is slow progression . For non PP clubs this is how it is . Whilst it might seem mad , we are closer to those clubs than results seem . Our league has 14/16 non pp clubs who are all very similar imho . Keeping Scott and Benarous 2 years is key for us . Those boys are going to be the difference . We need to get to the Prem with them

Last season too . You could see what they were building . We will get there . Patience

Agreed - just need to stick with it - Nige will sort us out ?

Brighton game yesterday - moved to 8pm on Boxing Day thanks to Sky, with no trains running. Anyone who’s been to the Amex understands the impact of no trains on the travel infrastructure there. Absolutely ridiculous state of affairs. Fans being treated like shit again.

I did wonder why the ground looked so empty…..
