  1. But we need a chair man. Someone to put them out before the meeting starts and then stack them away after it's finished. A job that JL is perfect for.
  2. I'm very pleased for you, the fans and the club. If I can help out in some small way in the future I will endeavour (oblique Oxford reference) to do so.
  3. Yes it could have been better, but it can always be better. We could have scored more. Bell and Sykes should both of had two on the night. But we won 4-1. As I said elsewhere moaning is the national sport.
  4. This is England. Moaning is the national sport.
  5. In a shock move Neil Warnock is to be named the new CEO after he resigned from managing Huddersfield.
  6. Last 15 minutes was better but we have to show more attacking ability if we are to go deep in the tournament. We kicked the ball away so much that up to the 70th minute the England Centres only carried the ball 5 times between them. That was as lucky a bonus point win as you will see. Farrell to come in for Ford against Chile in Lille, if only to give him game time. Must secure another bonus point win before facing a physical Samoa side.
  7. This is rubbish from England. Passing so imprecise and the kicking tennis is like watching a game from 15 years ago. Just as I write this England get lucky as Marler uses is head, literally.
  8. Thankfully we don't have VAR so extra time doesn't need to be added after the plonker in the VAR booth took 6+minutes to arrive at an incorrect decision.
  9. Where are people hearing the 'noise' from the Atyeo from. As someone who sits about two thirds of the way up in the South Stand (row 23) I never hear a peeo from the Atyeo.
  10. Is that what it is? I thought it was a pattern of water melons.
  11. You obviously haven't heard a lot. Most football commentators and analysts of the 1960s had Bobby Charlton as the best midfielder of the age. As for Rooney I never said he had a low IQ, I said it was the perception as he was constantly lampooned in the media regarding his (lack of) intelligence and was the butt of many a comedians jokes. He does have a languid method of speech which may have given rise to the perception. Personally, given his career I actually think he's quite astute.
  12. That just means that the selectors were thick, not them. After all, Steve Stone has caps too.
  13. I don't necessarily think Rooney is thick, he's had the wherewithall to carve out a good career, but he's generally perceived as not being the sharpest knife in the drawer having on several occasions not engaged his brain before opening his mouth or taking an action. He's not the only one with Ashley Cole, John Terry, Paul Gascoigne and Jack Grealish instantly coming to mind. There are plenty of others but whether they are thick or just stupid is open to debate.
  14. Alright then, in footballing ability terms Charlton was a 10 who never lost his head, Rooney was a sometimes 8 but a 6 when he lost his head and Gascoigne a 7 but a 4 when he lost his head.
  15. Presumably in reverse order. Between 1962-1970 Bobby Charlton was widely regarded across the globe as the greatest midfielder in the world and a gentleman. Rooney was a wunderkind and great scorer but generally regarded as low on IQ. Gascoigne had moments of brilliance, bordering on genius, but was otherwise a bigoted ****.
  16. When Bellingham moved to Real Madrid I wondered how they might play him and who might convert the ammunition he could supply wiyn Benzema gone. I needn't have worried as he's been on fire and is their top scorer with 5. If he stays fit he could be the difference in wrestling tge La Liga title from Barcelona, although their wunderkind of Pedri and Gavi might have other ideas. Whatever, he's brought his Madrid form into the England team. Superb.
  17. I don't have such a downer on Maguire as some do on here but why bring him on in a friendly when there's the opportunity to give Tomori game time.
  18. This is a much better performance so far from England. Playing much quicker than against Ukraine and reaping the rewards.

  20. I don't believe the Gas have intent towards a new stadium. If they did they should have made a huge play a few years back for the land adjacent to Gypsy Patch Lane and the A38 where the Village hotel and gym, plus a number of car showrooms now stand. Easy access to the motorway, a local rail station and on a bus route would have made it ideal. They could even have used Stoker's as their pub.
  21. On the form guide that goes down as a major shock An excellent win to restore confidence but we can't get carried away. Argentina were poor making lots of handling errors and conceding too many penalties, especially in the scrum where England dominated, allowing us to kick our way to victory. Our defence was superb, particularly with only 14 men for all but 3 minutes, only conceding a late try. However, we saw little of England's attacking game, never really looking like crossing the Pumas line. We will need to show this if we are to advance udeep into the competition.
  22. I didn't think we could win this but the Pumas are rattled with George Firds two brilliant drop goals. I'd love us to win if only to see Michael Cheika throw his toys out of the cot. He was a pain in the ass and a real moaning minnie when he coached Australia. Every decision against his sides are treated as if the whole world is, against him.
  23. What's this 50/22 mularkey? Have we switched to Rugby League?
