Has anyone thought that it's the 'non matchday' stuff that caused the UWE to fall through? Maybe the University wanted a bigger slice / all of it meaning the sags would have to get bigger crowds just to remain in the status quo and never receive the benefits of the new stadium apart from ticket revenue from which rent would have to be paid I assume? It does make sense TBH and could explain why the Al Q's pulled the plug? Why would the Uni allow it to be built on their land if they wouldn't make any ££££ after all?

Indeed, that's makes sense Eddie. The interest forms part of the £10M charge so the actual amount available is lessened. Given their alleged current debt levels, the spring could be interesting.

This is what led to my question TBH Eddie. If the the AQ's wanted out as soon as the value of the supposed £10M charge is reached, bearing in mind they've made 6% in interest, couldn't they conceivably bankrupt the club and still get their £10M back, plus interest, regardless of a buyer being available? I appreciate they wouldn't be too popular but could they conceivably do it?

As the major holder of a charge on the mem, can WAQ force the sale of the land to recoup his / DS's £10M? They would be seriously up sh1t creek if he can.

Spot on Peter, he's been proven to be a source of bullshit. One thing they seem to be missing in this new plan is the fact that they DON'T OWN THE MEM LAND. IF there is a prospective take over, the fake sheik and his family will get the land as they have a charge of £10M on it. Also, they cannot own the UWE land (not that it will be built) as there's a covenant on it. Then gain, they never let facts get in the way of bullshit do they? I've just read the methane sorters post about everyone around the country loving the gas. As I'm working in Swansea this week on a nhs project, I got chatting to a Swans fan about football and he asked if we were rebuilding our stadium as we were doing really well in the Championship. I showed him the pics and he was well impressed and very positive about City. He then asked 'whatever happened to the other lot, did they go bust?' My reply was 'watch this space' to which he replied 'good, they are just plain weird!' He's just made a new friend!
