So, the conclusion is that they aren't 'coming for us' at all and we are further in front than we've ever been. their crowds are historically about half of ours and, no doubt, even less than that over the last couple of years. We're averaging around 19,000 since the rebuild aren't we so they're at 37% of our current support? Can't beat solid facts although they probably will try. OTIB.

R*vers were dreadful today and, if that's their normal standard, fair play to those that watch it. I really enjoy watching Championship football, it's a really good standard. Thankfully, we're not in that god awful division anymore.

Watching their game didn't half make me appreciate the Championship. Some of the 'defending' was comical, especially for the Bantams 2nd goal, the bloke had the freedom of their penalty area. If we defended like like, I think I would vomit!

Reading their forum, I'm surprised that so many of them are totally missing the point of a redevelopment. It's not about making things more comfy for the supporters although that goes hand in hand with redevelopment, it's about corporate non match day revenues and increasing the turnover of their horrible club. Hiring their crappy little social club out for wedding parties on alternate Saturdays is no longer enough. As long as they don't have these sort of available revenues, they will never be able to compete, financially, at their current level let alone ours without incurring debt. Actually, I'm not surprised they are missing the point, it's to be expected I guess.

Couldn't they just knock down the crappy terrace on the left and shift it that way? It's not like the stands are full length or anything. That would give them room I should think.

I reckon they will end up with something crap like this although how they pay for it is anyones' guess! Standing at either end and they've got their cosy little 12K stadium.

Just read a thread on their forum about opening up an old railway station to ease congestion on match days. Guess what? They want the council to pay for it! All these grand ideas are fine but they plain haven't got any money by the look of it so naff all will get done.

I agree. Look how we had to jump through hoops really parking etc. They're in a far worse position than we were IMHO. Just because they can build to 17/18k doesn't mean they would be allowed to. As to using the Gate, I would hope the 2nd word in reply to any request is 'off'!

I did notice that he said 'nice modern stadium' rather than the previous 'world class'. I don't think they will get it but it sounds more like a Shrewsbury flat pack job than something like the mighty Gate. That interview would have me very concerned if I were a sag, luckily I'm not so can enjoy the debacle!
