Ah. The mythical `packed out Eastville`.
There was a graffiti slogan on a pillar underneath the M32 for years saying 'Don Megsons loyal 6000' -they admit their poor attendances!

Spot on. To be offside you should be beyond the final defender when the ball is passed and when you receive the ball.
Surely that's not right otherwise the Wolves goal against Liverpool Saturday would have been allowed for instance

I thought munro always played leftback both footed granted and never recalled llewy playing left back ever....
Half correct, from memory the back four that night was Llewellyn,Shail, Munro and Scott

Munro was ok, bags experience and in the side that beat Liverpool in perhaps our greatest night ever on the road… He was RB And Andy Llewelyn LB. Over 8000 City at Anfield…and the kop applauding BCFC at the end and I recall Stuart Munro pointing at the kop in almost disbelief…. Him and Jack Hunt very similar playing styles.
So the left footed Munro was right back and the right footed Llewellyn was left back? No wonder we won with tactics like that. Even Osman wasn't that daft.

Marvin Harriott Vs Derby made Zac look like Maldini when we played Brighton

Biggest shock here is that we are still surprised that we have a number of “fans” that know very little about football. I know thats the case in a lot of clubs but we seem to have more than our share.
A topic for another day maybe, but we talk alot about the “culture” of our football club not being right, well there is an argument to say that about our fanbase too, and how fickle we can be. I wonder how wanted footballers feel at our club and if that disconnect stops us progressing.
Circa 2000 I sat in the Dolman and listened to - “Tony Thorpe is so lazy - apart from scoring he does nothing”.
Always stayed with me that!Another classic was the wise men on these very pages saying Bobby Reid wasn't good enough for Div1 let alone the championship,

Excellent post. The analysis of the tactical decision is spot on.
The only downside for me is I did very much like Naismith central, playing as the deep pivot and Rob overlapping down the left with his pace and power. I think the make up of that back three should be influenced by opposition style as much as anything.
I don't think him playing centrally should preclude him going on a run if the space and opportunities are there, him, Naismith and Zac are all capable of doing that.

Missed a sitter and messed up our other two best chances by blocking the pass to Naismith and smashing a cross high and wide though.
But apart from that

I thought second half he got into some very good attacking positions and then spoiled them with very poor crosses,at least four from memory.

Remember when people used to swear that Wembley had the biggest playing area but we knew that Ashton Gate (and Maine Road) were bigger.

My impression was that Pring got a slight block on the cross, hence the way the cross looped somewhat and which also meant their striker was played onside?
I don't think it plays him onside but it certainly made it a much better cross for them unfortunately

Don’t be so sure. Just as the Jocks always do the Taffs will raise their game against England. Add to that by the time we play them England may well have already qualified and psychologically that might effect the English players.
Just like the total overreaction when the Jocks drew with England in the Euros and Gilmour was going to be the next Messi ,

It was,and this is what makes him such a frustrating player

About 17/18 years ago Mangotsfield had a superb youth team who many thought could have held there own in the Western league at that age. First team management not interested and they all drifted away
