I don't think I've seen anyone have that attitude here - I think people are supportive of those who need an alternate solution having one. They're looking at those who don't need one, but have just decided they want one.

Really, just one for instance look at Bristol Rob's sarcasm loaded contribution three posts above, he'll be old one day

What has politics got to do with the club offering something that will be easier to use for the majority of people?

I just get the feeling a lot of people are adopting the 'I'm alright Jack' attitude when they should be more understanding of those less fortunate than themselves, the sort of behaviour they might accuse the wicked Tories of doing.

So if so many of us don't have a suitable phone, what is the point of changing the entry to stadium method? The club is acting very stupidly IMO!

It's a shame that many of our supporters are so sarcastic about those of us who are significantly older than many of our supporters. We are not stupid old cretins. Then again supporting City for seventy years probably does say a lot for my intelligence!

It's always the fans who come every match who suffer, not those with pots of money who can afford phones that cost an arm and a leg. The fans who have always paid their way with turnstile operators, clerical staff and Directors taking their share of the "gate money" which was one of the reasons for 1982. And who got us back on track? People like me who put his total savings account(£90) in new shares.

Well said,I can't believe that there are supporters that would call themselves left leaning politically but are happy with the further gentrification of our club and football in general. Shame on them.

Surely you have been in shops etc and see people tapping their phones against the contactless reader on chip and pin machines to pay for stuff. Tapping the reader to gain entry to the ground is exactly the same.

Yes I have, and I've seen them not work for various reasons while I stand there tutting holding my crisp £20 note

I'm sorry but whenever big business says here's an exciting new system it's always more complicated for a lot of people. Some might think it's simpler but then some wouldn't mind having a barcode tattooed on their forehead.

    Nope, you’re wrong again.

Bob scored second tier goals for us & for West Brom, even got a few in the Prem for Bolton.

Thorpe scored 2 goals above the third tier in his entire career, bloke was a flat track bully, got hat tricks against shite like Colchester, Cambridge & Stockport.

    Facts, eh?

Out of interest do you know how many games Thorpe did play in the 2nd tier?

yep 83 84 season pretty sure it was a tuesday night 10,000 crowd felt like 20,000

Sure Paul Stevens got the only goal. I knew it was going to be a big crowd because I struggled to park. For a few years before I could get to the area at 2-45 or 7-30 and not miss kick off!

I grew up watching football in an era of Joe Royle up top.  I loved Mick Harford.  But my “football philosophy” (if you can call it that) was formed by Neville and Riley…two littl’uns!

With Walsh and Pritchard (two big 'uns) out wide! We played some fantastic football with that front line, when the Times called us ' the Real Madrid of the 3rd division '

Ah, yes….I did think Matthews was a bizarre choice.

This is an interesting one.  You can look at this the other way around, maybe he’s not good enough to play for a bigger PL team?  I think he’s a bloody good player, but I don’t think he’s as good a defender as he is a ball-player.  I think people get a bit blinkered by his ability on the ball and forget about his defending.

First and foremost a defender should be able to defend and then you see what else they've got. Baker was a good, reliable defender but his passing was poor. I've said it before but there were some keyboard coaches who seriously wanted Fammy in defence on the strength of a few clearance headers from corners!

Not much of a help dave but tc discusses the game on yt, in a video called Terry cooper interview 2015, it was before the Swindon game when Mark was manager, he talks about seeing a flag, saying jesus says go forth and smiling,

Don't think Mark's quite right,I'm sure it said       Jesus said come fourth

                                                                                          So we did

And I was there and I was sure we won 3-2,but it was 2-1, memory is a strange thing.

I agree. Anyone we are bringing in should be better, or have the potential to be better than our existing players, otherwise what's the point?

For me, whilst Vyner had a good season, he is a bit too laid back and he switches off and losses concentration at times. He is certainly not irreplaceable and with these defensive players we are signing, he needs to up his own level further to stay in the starting 11.

If Atkinson was fit then I think we'd be starting with him and Dickie at the back and Vyner would be back up.

Sorry Wsm,I think you're talking about Zac in seasons past and not the season just gone where he has upped his whole game considerably.
