Hard to disagree with any of that, sat in the duke tonight watching and thought we are one of the favourites in the world cup, how has a team that nearly won the Euros recently and got to a semi-final of the world cup in 2018 sunk so low, tonight was bloo*y embarassing.

There are only a few clubs in the EFL thinking of doing this, I doubt many Championship clubs would deem it worthwhile after balancing attendances and loss of match day revenue from people such as yourself I would be very surprised if many clubs above say league one were considering it.

There has been a very large rise in cases over the last 3 weeks (42%) on the 15th Sep for instance there were 3,000 cases on the 16th 15,000 so yes unfortunately it is, though hospitalisations and deaths are thankfully much lower than they were. I read talk of cases reaching record levels by the end of Oct beginning of Nov, let's hope not.

As a club we are in a classic catch 22 we can't seem to get promotion because as soon as we get a half decent player or players as is the case at the moment, they attract bids from other clubs leave us and we have to start all over again, in my previous post I listed 3 players that had we been able to keep them we might well be playing at a higher level I realise a lot of clubs have the same problem but some have somehow held on to their top players just long enough to get there.

If we could keep hold of them long enough to actually benefit us, and by that, I mean getting to the next level and not just generating money for the club which whilst good for them doesn't exactly do the likes of us much good does it when all it means is we get to see them doing great things at another club. I have grown a little weary of it in the last couple of years Lloyd Kelly, Josh Brownhill, Adam Webster, I could go on but I'm sure you get the picture.

I take it you are too young to remember 1976 I do and believe me if we ever do get promotion to the top flight you will remember it in every detail and as you say for all of us it would be the pinnacle of our city supporting life, it's been 42 years away from it far too long.

As of my other post I ask, what did these teams that you mention do that we can't seem to? that's the thing that most frustrates me my earlier post was misunderstood I was not saying we should be competing with Burnley and the like as we stand now just that in the long term, we should be able to surely.

What I meant was there is no discernible reason why we could not be on a par with the likes of Burnley and Norwich, somehow, they have got themselves into the position of receiving parachute payments which as we can see gives them a hell of an advantage over teams like us, what did they and other teams like Swansea and Huddersfield do that we have not?

So, two and a half years into his reign our defence is no better than it was the day he arrived statistically speaking, we still need to score on average at least 2 goals to win most games, yes, we have made great strides, but would you be happy knowing all your hard work was for nothing? if you were at the coalface knowing all that coal was for nothing because your mates had left the back door open? pissed on my chips? I have had a great day thanks and can do without your sanctimonious spouting's I always thought that you talked a lot of sense on here compared to some who shall remain nameless, don't fall into the trap of thinking a lot of positive comments on your postings mean you are right all the time, sometimes that can make you blind to certain managers failings overall. I can see we are making progress, am I happy? well up to a point I am but until we are competing with the likes of Norwich and Burnley who in my opinion, we should be at least on a par with then no. (And yes, I am well aware they have parachute payments) but by now so should we given the money SL has invested and the support we have, if they can do it why not us.

It sometimes looks like we will never get an even break, but I can assure you that if me and you live long enough, we will see as many decisions go our way as we deserve and your daughter if not seeing a Unicorn eventually will have as many good things in her life as bad.

We all know where we are lacking and have done so for what 3 years, yet there has been no progress at all, this for me has been the failing in our game plan coaching and recruitment, when are we going to become a team other teams don't see us as a soft touch, until then we could have the best attack in the division but if our forwards feel they have to outscore the opposition in every game eventually there will be interclub disharmony and we will lose that togetherness we currently have.

We would have lost both those games last season by a lot more than the odd goal but it's still disappointing we can't seem to defend. I look forward to the day we get it right at both ends.

It's uncanny, it does not matter how we shuffle the pack the end result is the same I have no answer as in theory we have had some decent players at the back over the last two or three seasons but defending is still our Achillies heel.

If this result stays the same, I hope it doesn't knock the players confidence as the fixture computer was a little harsh on us playing two parachute payment sides in consecutive games, we won't have two harder games in a row all season.
