  1. Reading the response and them talking about the "Cardiff city family" made me think about their handling of the Emiliano Sala episode, does anyone know what happened as far as them having to pay the transfer fee and was it established that he was in fact legally one of their players?
  2. I think for most well me anyway it's a welcome distraction, but yes it's hard to get too exited about the games at the moment.
  3. There will come a point where they have to consider the risks against the overall harm to the economy that point will come once those most at risk are considered fairly safe ie those over about 50 yes it will probably never go away but if the vaccine keeps the vast majority from any real danger why wouldn't life return to some sort of normality?
  4. At the moment there are no plans to vaccinate everybody in the country (well not for quite a while) the idea is to vaccinate the people most a risk first, that should be done in the next 8 weeks, there are more vaccines coming on stream very soon so I think your estimate of Christmas is very pessimistic to say the least though I don't think we will be going back to the gate this season I will be surprised if fans are not there by the start of next season.
  5. I'm not sure what you mean by fully tested, 100s of thousands of people have taken part in trials all over the world and there have been practically no adverse effects and most of the ones passed as safe are over 90% effective, yes it may have been a lot quicker than is normal but that does not mean it's not fully tested. As far as the long term is concerned nobody knows what the side effects may be, but anybody over 65 that doesn't have the vaccine is playing Russian roulette with their life and I for one will seize the chance when it is offered to me.
  6. This is fantastic news for everyone let's hope it's just the start and we can now get back to normality as soon as possible.
  7. It seems to me that women like playing football but not watching other women play it if the crowds in the women's game are anything to go by, plenty of them seem to be happy to watch our men's team and until that changes I just can't see the women's game really taking off ever as a profitable spectator sport but it's great so many love playing the game though.
  8. Was just an example of a player not thought of as a natural striker suddenly coming good, but yes he has been a bit disappointing since, a case of a player just being a good fit at a club?
  9. It's cowardly isn't it the equivalent of beating up a 10 year old boy for most men, trouble is the punishment rarely fits the crime in most cases.
  10. A Lincoln sending off can't be far away now.
  11. If fans are not allowed to return to the gate this season how long do you realistically think Steve Lansdown would be prepared to bankroll the club? there must surely be a time where he would consider it pointless going on. I imagine there are a lot of worried supporters of a clubs out there who don't have a billionaire chairman, I must admit to being a little worried about the future of not only our club but the game in general.
  12. We have previous in Bristol for this sort of thing other cities as you say just get on with it, our stadium plans for Ashton Vale are a typical case in point oh! and don't get me started on the "new" arena that 10 years later is still nowhere to be seen. The park and ride I was proposing was at PORTBURY, It wouldn't be ideal using the A369 but I suppose it could go over the Avonmouth bridge and use the Portway instead.
  13. If I was a betting man with the country in a right mess financially I would give long odds on this project ever going ahead, with more people supposedly working from home exactly where is the demand going to come from? it will probably be used more for tourists gazing at the suspension bridge. It would make a lot more sense to build a park and ride at Portbury.
  14. Far to sensible I'm afraid that's why it wont happen, unfortunately.
  15. Well if that happens I can't see there being a Bristol City to watch in two years, how long do you think Steve Lansdown will be prepared to bankroll us and the bears?
  16. Looks like next season football will have to be played in front of half empty stadiums, and even that may have to be reduced further if chanting is found to further spread the virus says a government advisor, not good news if you have just bought a season ticket.
  17. Wouldn't go down that road we have only won once in the last 10 ourselves.
  18. I think it's a bit late to be worrying about the fans losing faith that ship has sailed. I think we are onto damage limitation, I was a season ticket holder for nearly 30 years and believe me when I say if I am beginning to lose interest the club had better beware. I'm sure there are a lot more like me out there and once they like me grow out of the habit of attending regularly it's hard to win them back, I still go down but just half as often and that is almost entirely because of the way they are playing at home and I think we all know who is responsible for that.
  19. According to the Huddersfield chairman who said until a vaccine the government has said there will be no large gatherings, so make of that what you will I take that to mean football and sport gatherings but if you know more let me know.
  20. Trouble is what if a vaccine is not found what then? realistically that would mean 60% of clubs would probably go bust with no crowds allowed. I'm assuming the championship and premier league would then be relying on tv money and any sponsorship they could get, I suppose city would be one of the clubs that could survive a long period without crowds due to Steve Lansdown but there is no guarantee he would continue to bankroll the club.
