Regardless of any stats I simply look at our football and compare it with that of our opponents, the recurring, albeit non-evidenced themes (as in not substantiated by data/stats), are: (1) we lose possession very often (compared with most opponents) (2) when we get in and around the opponents box we are less likely to pass it around opting either to be direct or go backwards (there was a passage of play last night when SU played the ball across and around our box for what felt like ages awaiting an opening) (3) our distribution from throw ins, free kicks and corners is generally poor and we frequently concede possession from promising positions (4) we win very few 50/50 challenges (5) our forwards rarely win headers from long through balls whether from the keeper or defenders All this adds up to great frustration!

Fordy62 you may not have wanna jinxed it but think you just did ? a game of two halves as far as the ref was concerned IMO.

NP delivered an excellent post-match interview on Sky and showed professionalism and restraint. His main focus being us continuing to concede avoidable goals.

The result is hugely disappointing, however, IMO one of our best performances over 99 minutes this season. We will play worse and pick up points for sure. On the night the best team lost.

Good half from us although we haven’t really troubled their keeper despite dominating and playing neat stuff. Alex Scott has been excellent but picks up another booking in a game which the ref has been largely invisible.

Finished 2-0 and HNM finally grabbed his first goal in City colours when he made the run from midfield, surged into the area and confidently buried it low into the bottom corner. Ironically, almost had a second with an effort straight at the keeper.

Enjoyed this “I just felt it was a nice club, nice people, nice this and that, lovely city. Everything was nice. We needed to be more street-wise, have more of a competitive edge to us. We can still be a welcoming club but we also need to be a club that other teams don’t like playing.”
