  1. If you can’t sign anyone then you make the group that you have a tight knit “fight for each other to the end “ group . Instead NP seems to be at war with half the squad even tough he can’t get rid or replace them . That has relegation written all over it and he has zero experience below this level in the modern game . Just get rid right now and prepare for next season in L1 with a vague hope that we might just get enough bounce back to stay up . ( Which is entirely possible in the worst Championship I have ever seen )

    I'll bite.

Jay is probably my most disappointing player the last handful of games.

He's constantly targeted and does OK, but going forward I cannot remember the last time I saw him actually beat a man.

And his crossing and end product is farcical, never beats the first or second man, any shot from outside the box is a conversion, every time.

The only metric he beats Pring in is passing and ball control. But every other metric (pace, crossing), I'd rather have Cam.

Someone can feel free to correct me, as I may be spouting rubbish, but his end product is rubbish.

Isn't it something like 8 assists in four years?

With you . JD seems to have the strength of a schoolboy unfortunately. His pace is limited and can’t strike a clean ball at all .  Nowhere near good enough unfortunately. Look at our equaliser yesterday . It took Pring about 2 mins to put a ball into the box that got us back in it .

Not brought this topic about for about 2 years.

    But sadly Nothing has changed.

    JD - Can’t beat a man, can’t cross.

Sykes - Can beat a man but chooses to come inside not even his position.

Both are useless and offer nothing going forward or at the back.

We would be better going 4 at the back and getting an extra man in midfield.

Vyner can play RB and Pring at LB and just let them overlap when it’s right to do so.

Both have pace both better defenders. Height wise they are better for defending.

2 from 3 in the middle - Kalas, Klose or Atkinson.

Naismith should be pushed into midfield he is the best passer in the team and can also defend not sure why that won’t work.

Play him with Williams or James

Play Seymenyo and Wiemann wide in a 4 and they can take turns to join Wellls.

    Scott in the whole

    Wells upfront.

And Bentley in goal - I am an anti - Maxer.

If we had decent wingbacks then fair enough but we don’t so why do we play with wingbacks if we don’t have them….

Totally agree . Both are woeful both in attack and in defence . You simply can’t play that system without athletes on either flank ! I honestly believe that those two are the cause of much of our problems , together with poor communication and a lack of understanding between our keepers and centre backs .  They’ve gone from one Keeper who won’t move off his line to one that comes for everything . No wonder they’re confused ! The latter point just needs us to stick with Max and allow that understanding to come but JD and Sykes need pulling now.

  4. Sykes and Dasilva as wing backs are truly awful week in week out . No pace or physicality. Can’t do a lot about Sykes but surely Cam Pring gets a run now on the left . Weimans confidence seems be shot right now and though I rate him massively , Scott needs to take a look at himself as he really looks the part but seems terrified to play anywhere near the opposition box and is in danger of becoming a bit of a show pony . As for Zak , it’s all been said . We’re in a spot of bother chaps !

  5. We played such a high line today it was ridiculous at times . If you’ve got a quick mobile back 3 you can get away with it but we haven’t . We must adapt our system or we really will get picked off by the whole top half of this division ! Naismith , Vyner and Atkinson are being chucked under a bus due to our system at the moment and I feel for them a bit tbh !

So have I got this correct?

Football (including all grass roots and kids) and boxing are cancelled. Rugby, cricket and golf go ahead tomorrow. Horse racing resumes on Sunday and to cap it off the Bears are playing Bath at Ashton Gate early Saturday evening.

Currently there is no indication of when football will return.

    Interesting….

At least we now know what the FU bit is all about in RFU !!

Criket, rugby and god knows what else playing tomorrow now but not even under 7s football can take place?

what a shower of shite this is

You fail to understand that Rugger and Cricket is played by gentlemen and the better classes ! Football is merely a peasant’s past time and they need to be kept firmly in their place Sir !

Nothing should be cancelled - it’s crackers they are even considering it. If you don’t want to go tomorrow then don’t go but the vast majority will and are happy to crack on whilst paying their respects before the game etc. Wont achieve anything by cancelling except hacking a load of people off who many have made plans and spent money etc.

Personally I think the royal family is an outdated concept etc but happy for it to continue as long as they bring in more in tourism etc than they cost (ie the taxpayer benefits and doesn’t really affect my life).

Totally agree . I don’t have particularly strong opinions either way on the Monarchy but the fawning “ the Country is in shock and in a state of mourning “ guff is so woefully out of touch with reality yet again !  Her attitude in ww2 was to stay put and get on with living our lives and the greatest mark of respect for her life would be to do likewise right now ( with the exception of her state funeral )

  9. If you love your home town team and look for their results / watch/ listen to games whenever life lets you then in my book you’re a true fan ! It doesn’t matter if you can only get to 1 game a season due to geography or finances , you’re still a true fan . If you’re life circumstances permit you to travel home and away week in week out then that’s great for that individual but that doesn’t make the mum/Dad with 4 kids who can’t afford to go , any less of a fan . That’s my definition anyway .

This abuse seems to have followed him around since he made his 'political / religious' views public.

Not condoning the abuse at all but this will unfortunately never go away until the day he retires and he must surely have expected it after his poppy refusal.   I believe his actions have even been questioned in Ireland given that 50000 Irish soldiers died in WW1 alone . He has every right to say how he feels and with him being a Derry boy , I do get it but surely he’s not so naïve that he didn’t expect his stance to have consequences?

To be fair well done, bravo and all that but they haven't 'done something no men's team could do since 66', for men aren't permitted to play in woman's tournaments (at least not yet.)

Admittedly I only watched about 30 mins of the whole tournament, but that was sufficient. By all means celebrate a great achievement for woman's football but in all seriousness answer this: Against which City representative side do you think the Lionesses would remain competitive? I reckon they might give the boys U16s a game but by U19s they'd struggle. U23s they'd be played off the park. And that's City.

From the few bits I did see the Spaniards were technically light years superior to anybody else and attempted to play something resembling adult men's football. England may well be champions of Europe and good on them. But if comparing to men's football, lack of ball control, ball retention and kick and rush, there is no comparison. I trust their success has women and girls rushing to pull on their boots to get involved, for that can only be a good thing  Just spare any conflation with the men's game as the two have little in common.

You’re right , the whole culture of the women’s game is different. However we need to wake up and learn from the women’s game rather than minimalise their achievements! A whole tournament without half the fans trying to kill each other . Very little of the blatant cheating and diving we see in the mens game . A game not yet wrecked by the greed of players , agents and TV companies plus openly gay and straight players in every team and it just doesn’t matter . I think our game needs to learn things from the womens game personally because all that’s good in their version of the game is what’s wrong with ours !

I really don’t think tonight is the night for this. Can we not just enjoy a wonderful occasion and a fantastic achievement without this constant need to compare it with the men’s game?

Today is a day to celebrate victory for a team that represents our country. End of.

Totally agree . I really don’t get his point . When Laura Trott( Kenny) , Kelly Holmes , Nicola Adams etc etc won all their gold medals , did we question. Their value because they didn’t compete against Chris Hoy , Seb Coe or Flloyd Mayweather ?  Just share the joy and embrace it eh !

Hope it helps then that only one team relegated from the Prem last year has gone back up...

I stand corrected ! Thought Bournemouth came down last year but it was the year before I guess .
