  1. I was given a pair of the Alan Ball white boots that were bought at a jumble sale (ask your grandparents kids)

They were about 3 sizes too big and lasted me ages.

Later on I played school boy level for Gloucestershire county and scored in my first two games wearing, Puma moulded with the big fold over tongues.

  2. The principle of VAR I’m fine with, just not the way it’s being used.

I would change it so there is one VAR official watching the screens, if something happens that doesn’t get called by the on field officials, he suggests the ref goes and looks at the pitch side monitor for him to review it.

The ref has a chance to see if he has got a call wrong and he can then change it, not be told by someone else to make a change. I would also cut down on the freeze frames and super slow-mo as they can often make something look a lot worse than when played at normal speed.

Whilst this might make it more tedious initially, and possibly slightly longer delays, in time I think the proper flow would return and players more likely to accept the decisions the ref makes as it is his and his alone call.

No ungainly pillars on this stand. Here's a clue City & Rovers played in the League at this ground in 1998/99 season.

It looks a bit like part of the old Gay Meadow in Shrewsbury, if I recall that was a three part stand down one side.

But as others have said, we were in different divisions in 98/99

ALL of their problems are self-inflicted. Nothing to do with the Green Party, contractors, steel manufacturers, local residents, the Council Planning Department yada, yada, yada. They are the only ones to blame. Until they recognise and accept this, they’ll never take the necessary steps to remove the causes of their incompetence, enabling them to move forward with certainty. It’s called professionalism. (Personally, I’ll be delighted if they carry on in their own sweet way).

Projects seldom run smoothly - there are always obstacles which will require mitigation. The old project management mantra “Perfect Planning Prevents Piss-Poor Performance” has been completely ignored by the 15ers to be replaced by “Ah, don’t worry about that mate, it’ll be fine”.

I’m glad you didn’t say they were the architects of their own downfall, as I’d be prepared to wager no architect has been anywhere near the place or the design idea.

Genuine question and happy to be corrected - is JCH the player who received loads of abuse off you fans, resulting in him flicking you lot the bird when subbed once and then saying it was great to play in front of “proper fans” after he’d moved?

If so, why are you lot so desperate for him to come back and why would he want to come back?

Of course, if that wasn’t him ignore me it must have been someone else the “faithful and true” had a problem with

I think that was Stefan Payne, when he was signed by the mighty Tranmere Rovers!

All the talk of everyone hating the kit etc but when I went to the Oxford game I was surprised how many people were wearing the new kits.  Ultimately if the numbers don't add up then I'm sure we will have a get out of the deal, but if people keep buying it then we will stay put im sure

I was just going to post a similar observation, when watching the “limbs” video from the Millwall game, there are loads of the shirts being worn in the crowd.

I recall Gary controlling the ball with his hand like a basketball player, at saltergate, teeing someone up and we scored, they went absolutely mental the terrace to the right, think it was the season chesterfield got to the semis

Was the the last minute goal when Andy Leaning played for them?

    Did big Wayne score it?

As hilarious as this is, it probably only just makes it in the top 10 ‘gifts’ we’ve had from them in the last decade. That’s how embarrassing they are as a football club.

    My list in order:

    1) Relegated to Non League by a team wearing their kit

    2) Losing Matty Taylor to us for peanuts after saying he wouldn’t go for less than £10 million.

    3) Sainsbury’s screwing them over

    4) Tent Stands

    5) Santas Grotto

    6) The Worlds worst open top bus tour

    7) Joey Barton taking them to the Basement

    8  This stand fiasco

    9) Getting knocked out of the FA Vase by Bath City

    10) the ‘Unlucky da shit’ video

Its likely that I’ll suddenly remember some other giant Rovers related **** up that should be in this top 10 (there’s been so many) so it’s worth bearing in mind that the order can change but number 1 will always be number 1 ?

Fighting with players through the net?

Celebrating staying up away at Wycombe?

Singing “we’ve got our stadium “ at AG during the EFL cup game!

and so on, and so on……

Will come out in time I’m sure but IMO we have had a last minute change of heart due to the backlash of the third kit and have now decided against using the splat robin and/or the blue rumoured colour

Can’t imagine it’s an O’Neills cock up, whatever we think of their brand/quality, we can at least give them credit for turning over two kits in February when we needed them promptly

I’m sure I read somewhere that the ‘image’ used on the third kit was a one off with regards to shirt badges?

I see Man U have signed a £900m ten-year deal with Adidas…. Crazy money I know but  I’d love to know how that compares with our O’Neils deal!

Absolutely no relevance TBF, even if City went with Adidas or ManU were with O'neills the massive difference is status of the two clubs would be like the difference between chalk and cheese.

Unless it was pure speculation to the value of the agreement City had reached with the current kit supplier.

I’m really out of the loop on the latest shenanigans north of Bristol

so - without trawling through all the posts , are we saying they started a development without the appropriate planning permission? And now even though they have sold tickets for this stand - it won’t be ready in time for the start of the season?

    In short - yes

    In more detail - yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees

We arrived last Saturday at the tail end of the heatwave. I like the sun (my skin doesn’t it looks like I’ve a city home shirt on) but the first few days was uncomfortably hot.
I suspect you had that in Portugal as well.

    How's the neckline?
