Amazing night. A genuine privilege to have commentated on it. The sort of thing you dream about as a kid.

Being a football journalist with a young family living 150 miles away from Bristol hasn’t been particularly conducive to watching City live - in fact, I’ve probably only been to about a dozen games during the past decade - but getting to do that game, the last Bristol derby and the night we beat Manchester United presumably means I qualify as a bit of a lucky charm.

    Or a glory hunter!?

VAR as a concept and a tool is an excellent idea..........the problem's seem to lie with the Tools that operate it?

Agreed, I think the VAR system should be there for the on pitch official(s) to be able to go and look at something if his view was obscured or was a close call, not for a bloke 100 miles away not involved with proceedings to have his interpretation on what he thinks he's seen when slowed down from 20 different angles.

At worst, the 4th official should be the one steering the on pitch ref that he may want to review something.

The hand ball/penalty/no goal needs to be sorted out properly as well, take out any ambiguity.

Anyway, how’s permission for that new stand coming along?

The new stadium at the FM wasn’t mentioned as part of the Temple Quay or St Phillips redevelopment on Points West tonight, so it must nearly be finished now.

Maybe that is delaying the new (non) tent at Membley.

Would seem a shame if Gavin Ward didn’t win Champagne Moment. After everything, you’d love to be a fly on the wall at the PGMOL when that award turned up in the post.

    Gavin Ward got my vote!

I’ve been using O’Neills kits for many years now, as my own club supply from them and I have always been happy with the quality and fit. From my keepers shirt to training gear, hoodies, etc, I can’t fault them (except for a couple of delivery delays here and there). They’ve been supplying GAA in Ireland for a long, long time, so certainly not “tinpot”. They certainly come up with some impressive designs. Badges are usually printed into the design, not embroidered or the like, but sounds like that’ll be different for us.

And, no, I don’t work for them and they don’t sponsor me. ?

Shhhh…. You cannot come on here with positive posts as it doesn’t fit the agenda.

They must be awful, and the huge numbers of world wide sales of our replica shirts will leave everyone disappointed as a club like ours should have bespoke kits made by Nike or Adidas.

Bitton Bitter FC (based in South Glioucs) folded recently.

Not the ideal venue for Rovers, but a ground that can easily accommodate their "enormous" following.

Mind you, it would take the Blue Few a bit of time to get used to such luxury.

They wouldn’t need to spend much changing the signs, or wording in the seats if there are any of course
