  1. The one thing all refs need is the chance to almost do a presser after matches to give their view.

    The PGMO don't let them.

We've all given dogs abuse to refs over decisions we didn't get, but I don't honestly believe they are deliberately making some of the perceived errors out of spite or dislike of any particular side.

Some are better than others and ply their trade at the top level of the game, the same applies to players.

  2. Red cards for those ‘good yellow cards, took one for the team’

The deliberate trips, shirt pull backs with no attempt to play the ball or try a legitimate tackle.

Also some ‘common sense’ to be applied to red card that are attempts to tackle just badly timed or win the ball and take the opponent out with the follow through.

Reckless or dangerous tackles still deserve red, but some red cards are a joke.

As a 60 something who witnessed the "glory days" of the late 60's, 70's and 80's I find it hilarious to see the same old, and I mean old, faces decked out for action...Burberry cap hiding hairless pate or ridiculous hair style making the most of what little they have, Stone Island XXL (or knock off) outerwear, tightly stretched Fred Perry, baggy jeans (alas, those skin tight Lois Jeans will not contain the spread of age) and Samba/Bamba trainers(not the best footwear for aged fallen arches). Victims of magical thinking, self-generated ever expanding legend( as witnessed on this very forum or overheard in the pub), low self-esteem and self-focused masking ego.  Sad escapees from their own reality, fuelled by poor quality cocaine and booze. I'd feel sorry for them if they just stuck to dressing up and lying, but no, these little men have to demonstrate their dwindling prowess by disturbing the personal space of others with their mindless acts of vandalism, foul mouths, aggressive posturing and calculated acts of violence against victims who will not or cannot respond. Sad, irresponsible, selfish B'stards!

Not a dig at the poster here by any means, but references to the ‘glory days’ will only keep these idiots doing what they do.

Making it out that attending football matches without having a dust up in the past meant you weren’t really a fan, just fuels these egos and gives them some kind of justification to carry on like idiots as some great show of bravado among them and their associates.

New kit bingo goes as follows:

    1) I don’t like the shade of red

    2) I prefer a proper collar cause it looks well smart when I wear it out on the town innit

    3) I don’t like the badge position

    4) I don’t like the sponsor

    5) I never buy the kit anyway

    6) It looks cheap

    7) It looks tacky

    8. I like it

    9) I don’t like it

    10) Modern kits look crap in XXXXXL

    11) I can’t believe they’ve run out of the 3rd goalkeeper kit socks

    Anymore?

Not a comment, but you can guarantee someone will post the image of David Cotterill in the lace up neck monstrosity offered by TFG

  5. I nearly got sacked because of Rob Newman once!

It was the early days of Clubcall (0898 121176?) at quite a high call rate, and also the early days of 'carphones'

My then boss was not impressed that I racked up nearly £850 in call charges ringing the same premium number a couple of times a day during his proposed move to Norwich.

Only kept my job as I offered to pay it back over the next 6 months.

dont think he can take much credit for that win, given his selection, which put us in a shit place to go in to halftime, but glad to see he corrected it.

So he can take credit then?
