There's some great ideas on here, particularly the yellow cards for hounding/swearing at the ref - works well in rugby (and you can question decisions, if you are captain - and ask nicely). Similarly, the egg chasers have a rule about moving the kick if someone mouths off - great idea.
VAR is in theory a good idea, but unlike rugby, cricket, etc. it isn't incorporated into the game. They make it part of the spectacle; do the same for football. Show what the VAR officials can see - every ground has a big screen now.
Works in rugby as the captains tend to be closer to the ref when the decision is made. Not the same in football. Depending where the incident takes place, we could have defenders and goal keepers having to run half the length of the field (or more) to speak nicely to the ref.

It worked for Everton and Newcastle
And Forest. Although quite early into the season.

Sad indeed - but the genie's out of the bottle..
And seems to be a mindset not restricted to the "Me Me" generation.
The modern world eh
I wonder where the genie will pop up next? Imagine being at the theatre and someone rushes the stage to secure a prop or two!?

"Stealing Victory" is a great listen. Tells the story of the World Cup being stolen in 1966.

Took about 6 weeks to get my two children's first ever passports. Now waiting for their birth certificates to be returned (3 weeks and counting at the moment).

We did the right thing in taking short free kicks and throw-ins in the corner, Pring headed there on the counter…but ultimately on the last occasion let them get out too easily.
If it was me, I'd have used the towel to wipe down the ball to kill a few more seconds, whether we planned a long throw-in or not.

Either provided for both sides or neither side.
I get that, but who chooses? Being the home team and without Kalas, I'd have said "no" to them today.

As Kalas wasn't playing I was suprised the towels were available. Or is it a rule they must be there?

Not the only reason but we do badly miss Baker, but as he’s been missing now since November we need to find solutions with what we have.
Also missing the defensive contribution that Diédhiou offered when he was here. Often it was his header clearing a corner.

Heard he was on a pittance in footballers wages terms & absolutely nowhere near the amount quoted on that dodgy website guessing at players wages.
He wasn’t going to play, but was creating a bit of an issue with the fans wondering why we played all these others in his position over him, good business to terminate early I reckon.
But poor business to extend his contract in the first place.

You need Simon Bates to do a 'piracy' message before every broadcast.
It was always a bonus back in the day when you had a pirate video and you spent the Simon Bates message telling you that piracy was a bad thing to sort the tracking out
It's interesting to see how times have changed. This is the warning from a "My Little Pony" U-cert cartoon my 4yr old was watching.

I'd agree, the comparison of Betamax/VHS and then Freeview and Sky is so clever.

Nothing to worry about he said.
By dinnertime we were dodging roof tiles.
I dont think weather was his forte.
And later he claimed he was addressing concerns from a woman living in the US. Yeah right nice try Mr "I got it very wrong" Fish.

BBQ summers and snow warnings are an annual seasonal headline of theirs.
As are the "it's hotter / colder than (somewhere)" headlines from the tabloids. Complete nonsense.

Well, they do it at Wellington hill, and on the junction with traffic lights, but nothing gets done not even double yellows, I wonder why,
Special dispensation from the police knowing that 1,000s of the poor sods are locked out each week?

Remember - a positive answer to that question will result in a £6.50 charge for the car wash and a verbal apology. Why the full amount if only the windscreen was dirty?
Hope you're not trying to feather your nest?!!

So technically when games were played behind closed doors in the first lockdown our attendance would still have been 10/12k (remaining season ticket sales)? Despite the fact the stadium would have been empty.

of course being devils advocate these clubs are now finding ways around regulations.
Are they actually helping their supporters by not having this extra safety measure in place?
Will be interesting if mass positive results pop up as a result
But they're not finding loopholes. The government guidelines state "attendance" not "capacity".

For all the reasons given in the thread. But as a side question, what do the prices rise to post 1 June when the 'advanced price' is removed? I can't find that anywhere on the website.
