  1. Nige is the bloke that is still picking him though, even though you might never want him to pull on a City shirt again.
  2. The fact that they couldn't score more than two, with **** knows how many chances, proves that they were not outstanding in the goal scoring department!!! ?
  3. I think you need to get your eyes cleaned out. In my opinion, and many of those around me, he was the one player that was causing them any sort of problems.
  4. Would be interesting to hear the referee's views of the incidents. But as always, they never feel the need to make a comment!
  5. Amazing night that was. At half time I bumped into an old schoolmate who I hadn't seen for almost 50 years! (He apparently has lived in Manchester for years). I woke up the next morning....... ...we'd been promoted????........ ...we'd won 6-0 away?????..…... It must have been a dream, cuz Mike Green was in it, and I hadn't seen him for 50 years!!!!!
  6. I was sat in the stand next to a Coventry fan during this game. We argued throughout the game, it got quite nasty and we almost came to blows at one stage. At the end of the game, when we were both safe, we hugged each other and went onto the pitch together as the best of friends. The most sureal game I have ever been to.
  7. Beating the great Leeds side in the FA Cup at Elland Road when they had gone 27ish games unbeaten. Donnie Gilles scored and then followed the longest 20 minutes of survival watching City that I have ever experienced.
  8. Must say I found it ironic, a post about Tomlin from "Out of his pie crust"!!! ?
  9. Pity he can't get rid of the muppet that wrote this!
  10. Didn't know him but always sad to lose a fellow red. RIP John.
  11. Nigel has not had any sustained close contact with the playing squad since last Saturday (September 18th) and no player or other staff member is affected. City Chief Executive Officer Richard Gould said: “I’m sure that everyone at the club and our supporters hope that Nigel has a speedy and full recovery. In the meantime Curtis will take charge. He has been in regular contact with Nigel and we wish him and the team all the best against Millwall tomorrow.” Regular contact, but not close???
  12. Got one...... and f'kin missed it!!!???
  13. No, no! Come on, don't laugh................................................................!
  14. No, no, don't laugh......................... ?????
  15. I agree that the lights are not ours (these look square, whereas ours were twice as tall as they were wide) but the pylons look very similar to what we had.
  16. Not according to the picture of the program I posted earlier. Also the fixture list from: https://www.11v11.com/teams/bristol-city/tab/matches/season/1966/ shows us playing away at Wolves (drew 1-1) on 27th December, and at home to Wolves (lost 0-1) on 28th in Div 2 fixtures.
  17. Yes, I was in the open end. Wolves won 1-0. The crowd was 36,184. By chance I saw this for sale for £5 on ebay earlier:
  18. All wrong!!! It was Burton Albion!!! Just found this in a POTTED HISTORY of BCFC: https://www.bcfc.co.uk/fanzone/club-history/potted-history/ "1965: Division Three runners-up 1964/65, promoted to Division Two. The original set of floodlights erected in 1953 were sold to Burton Albion and a new set were officially switched on with a friendly against Wolverhampton Wanderers the same club which provided the opposition for the 1953 switch-on." That is not strictly true though, the game against Wolves was not a friendly, It was a Division 2 league game that we lost 1-0. The crowd was 36,184.
  19. We sold the floodlights to Corby Town if my memory still works!!!
