People pay their money, they can do what they like.

To some, city is a passion. To others, it’s a few hours out the house with mates and having a few beers.

I can’t understanding the judgement of others when people want to leave early, leave at half time or whatever. A couple of guys who I go with have to leave at 4:45pm as its the difference between getting home by 5:30/6pm or 7/7:30pm.

They are no less a fan for missing the last few minutes.

Personally I prefer the drinks and social as much as the football. A mate of mine is coming to the Sunderland game on the 16th December. We are going for a few drinks before and after the game. There is a very good chance we won’t be watching much of the football in between.

So why not just stay in the pub?

Welcome, but do I really need to know that we've signed an analyst and what his name is. Will he help us win football matches? When I think of some of the most successful managers in british footballing history, such as Stein, Shankley, Busby, Ferguson or Wenger, I have to admit to not knowing who their analysts were or if indeed they had one. I have to applaud modern football for it's job creation programme.

Doesn't take long for the moaners to appear in every thread.

As with every season, I expect we’re going to get promoted. This expectation will start to diminish from Saturday onwards but will remain quite high until Christmas. From there, it will free fall to thoughts of relegation but will bounce to lower mid table albeit with an uptick in the last few games that resets the expectation cycle for next season.

    A perfect summary of expectation

    An interesting choice to compare.

I have seen Michael Macintyre several times as a presenter - I forget the name of his show - and I thought he was abysmal, embarrassingly cringeworthy.

I have also seen him as a stand up comedian, and I found him very funny.

Macintyre is definitely better as a stand up than a game show host.

I never thought I would post the above sentence on OTIB.

I can honestly say that I've never once looked down upon the Ashton Gate turf & thought "I wish I could go & have a picnic on that".!

Some people do things just because they can do them.
If City offered the pitch for people to come and do their ironing then someone would pay to do it.

  6. Calm down everyone.

You can find humour in excessive political correctness and still be a decent, inclusive person.

If the poster who started it is a boorish, racist dinosaur then ignoring them is the best way to deal with it. Stop giving them oxygen by being outraged every five minutes.
