  1. The horse's mouth. "If we can sell a player for £25 m every year and build a nest egg." Please explain how the Venky's are bad owners. They have poured money into Blackburn year on year.
  2. Enjoy it while it lasts. Once SL allows Pearson to leave then enhances his nest egg through the sales of Conway, Bell and Pring we will be rubbing shoulders in the same league as the knuckle draggers.
  3. Wow, how was a penalty not given for the Sykes foul. Wasn't sure from the South stand, but the linesman was in line with it. Shocking decision.
  4. Haven't seen it back but the initial challenge by Pring, on the edge of the box, looked weak ( from my position in the SS).
  5. Was injured first half in the (non) penalty incident. Took a knock on the ankle.
  6. I've not seen anything that could be considered 'way over the top' on this forum. Piss taking about his crayons and drawing skills yes but no out and out abuse. Tbf anyone that designed and then produced that god awful anniversary shirt leaves themselves open to all sorts of criticism.
  7. Went there dozens of times for gigs (The Who, Stones, Queen etc) Loads of internationals plus our 3 appearances. My first visit however was early 70's on a school trip with West Town Lane for a schoolboy international in which Ray Wilkins was captain of the England team.
  8. Certainly lots for them to be ANGRY about.
  9. Another owner that just doesn't get it. He is the current custodian of an historic football club that will (hopefully) still be going long after he has left. The only reason he bought Sheffield Wednesday was to turn a profit. The club does belong to the fans and the city of Sheffield whether he likes it or not.
  10. Yawn....been done to death on other threads. Put these two well known words together to make a well known saying...egg nest.
  11. Nahki was surely second choice behind Conway. Conway and Weimans injuries complicated the situation.
  12. Need to hope Zak stays fully alert for 90 minutes. We've been opened up too easily straight down the middle lately, if that's the case Vardy will have a field day. Otherwise hoping for a solid 1-1.
  13. No way will their takeover of Everton be approved imo.
  14. Think he was really unlucky in that when he signed it was clearly to play on the Left side of the attack. Within days of him signing (or a few before) Bell scores at Swansea and then plays so well that he has cemented that Left side berth as his to lose. Mehmeti, instead of being a replacement for Semenyo suddenly found himself as understudy to Bell.
  15. As a fan I want to see my team competitive, not sit in the stand and think, "wow we may be useless on the pitch but we've now got millions in the bank." Also there are countless teams that don't / can't buy their way back up (Huddersfield, Wigan, Blackpool etc).
  16. Must be great fun, watching your team get shafted 38 times.
  17. Used to spend my Sunday mornings (early 70's) hanging round the Esso station forecourt (opp Gilda pde) asking drivers filling up if I could have their world cup coins / Squelchers booklets etc
  18. Beat me to it but I didn't want to put my hand up and ask ?
  19. Yep I was there. Right behind it in the East End.
  20. Probably told John a few home truths about the splat robin, the piss coloured yellow kit, the O'Neill's debacle, etc etc
  21. Probably for about the same length of time as your second sentence. So, a long time.
  22. Probably went off to make a cup of tea for them.
  23. Just wondering where abouts in the ground you sit and how much noise you make during the game. A bit off referring to the singing section as 'poxy.' Fwiw I sit roughly in the middle of the South Stand and sing along with every song.
