Don't think he should be playing in the position he does.
Not creative or clinical enough.

Preferred the high press identity under Nige. Even if we weren't the best on the ball and it was scrappy, at least we were going at teams and fighting for every ball.
Now it's just recycling the ball if "the opportunity" doesn't open up. And we've sacrificed what made us a dangerous team earlier in the season to do so.
Same old City, so flat against teams who don't leave gaps. Just hasn't felt fun to watch under Manning so far for me personally. Feels like the personality has been sucked out of the team. Trying to be something we're not.

Only difference is that our press is weaker and that we'd rather have the ball at the back a bit more.
Not fun to watch either.

We ain't done enough anyway, performance has been so flat and passive.

Thought we were passive and flat in the first half, second half a bit more confident and actually playing the ball forwards into good areas and running at them.
Weimann, James and Wells subs killed our momentum but the players were tiring, I'd like to see Cornick come on earlier.
Bet Pring needs about three icebaths after the amount of running he got put through today tracking Bowen and bombing forward.
Was annoyed with how we went about the first half, gave them too much respect. They're a decent team in the Prem but they're not overloaded with creative players. We shut off the ball into JWP further up and forced him deeper and Bowen was a bit of sick of running at Pring so he drifted more inside.
Deserved the draw and either side could have pinched it.

Cut the passing lanes for Dickie and this team ain't got much.
TGH the standout for me so far, putting himself about well.
-
Knight on the ball does my absolute head-in
-
We keep playing the same way, back to Dickie or Vyner once our forward options don't show for it.
Weimann goes hiding in behind markers and looks like he is running through sludge. Knight hasn't got the strength/pace to hold off or get beyond players and hold it up. Mehmeti not consistent enough.
Conway isolated and the subs are always like-for-like so nothing changes. The opposition can stay in their set-up and defend as it was and we don't look like changing it up.
Wells on his own like Conway fighting battles they'll rarely win. Sykes looks crocked, Cornick and Bell not in favour, Yeboah won't get an opportunity now.
The players aren't being played to their strengths and that's evident with this tippy-tappy hot potato 'front-foot-football'.
Can see what Manning is trying to do. Just isn't what I like to watch, I like to see teams mix it up a bit and we are so predictable.
I don't mind losing to better teams or teams with a clear plan that counter us but Millwall really didn't do that much to beat us today and that is deflating.

serves us right
-
Knight runs and runs but if he's going to play in a forward position he has to be an outlet and hold the ball and link it up, keeps going back and back - so frustrating.
-
Toothless and passive yet again.
All we do is just give the ball to someone else instead of trying to do something.

They are there for the taking and we've turned up and barely laid a glove.
Not enough conviction when we've got into good areas, just letting the opportunities pass by.
-
When he has little time to think with only one, two or three touches he's great and makes real positive contributions.
Real instinctive player going forward and can contribute off the bench, still like to see Mehmeti getting more opportunities from the start. Played well like the rest of them today.
-
That Asprilla is killing them with not tracking Pring. Giving Mehmeti and Conway more space in the left side areas.
Whole team fighting well, pinching the ball and breaking well but shout out once again for Rob Dickie, best signing we've made in a long time. Oozes calmness and hasn't been at his best over the last 2 games but his positioning is getting Pring right up the pitch and we are a big threat.
Bit more calm in the final third and we can bury this game but expect them to come out firing. That Martins is a real threat and Tanner has a different danger to deal with now.
-
That Ekwah is a hell of a player, always passing forward - first time one-twos, very impressed by him.
-
have a long throw in opportunity in line with their 18 yard box and we end up throwing it back into our own half and hoofing it into their keepers hands, patterns and behaviours what a shambles
-
'Fix' what ain't broken and we lose what makes us a pretty solid team.
Weren't we the second best defensive record in the Championship? what's happened there?
We have a limited squad with players who do what they can and now they're being asked to play a totally different way and now we're getting caught out, serves us right.
The Huddersfield manager ain't asking their limited squad to play some high-expansive football, he's getting the best out of the parts he's got and they're getting some results for him.
Certainly not exciting football but they're winning and do you think their fans care?

we're in a transition, leave them alone...

The club's that are usually well-run from top to bottom are.
And we ain't one of them.

But but but we're better with possession in our own half now...
It's personal preference what type of football we all enjoy of course but it's so predictable what this team will do.
Under Nige we maybe had less control and confidence on the ball but at least we'd rush teams and put it on them and stick a few balls into channels for us to hound and chase - feels like we've lost that part of us (which is probably the bit I enjoyed about NP's play the most)
Been saying for a while that were missing that midfield drive, it doesn't have to be a number 10 but just someone who can roll past a man and get the other teams running back but nope it's a couple passes out the back then pass wide and then hit and hope. Really lacklustre and easy to defend against.
I don't want to see Weimann play again, never really been his biggest fan. Just doesn't show for the ball at all and if he takes more than 3 touches he just kills any momentum we have. Give him a few first time finishes or passes in and around the box and he works off instinct and he's great but when he has time to think he's not a net positive for the team.
They spoke about young players getting opportunities with the academy pathway yet Yeboah hasn't even seen a sniff of the pitch since LM has come in when he's been a real positive influence off the bench under NP. Very raw but an injection of pace/power/unpredictability.
I would rather us stick long balls forward with a load of pace and strength and play from there but that's just my personal way of enjoying the game.
Losing Scott (the midfield drive) and Semenyo (pace/power/unpredictability) without replacing those attributes just makes the games pretty boring.
I want to see us driving forward and seeing other teams defences panic and fall apart.
I think most defenders won't mind playing against us the way we play now. Hmmm a few passes and it's gone out wide? Thanks I'll just head that one out all day.
Feels like the power and drive is slowly being picked apart for a more technical game - which is interesting because JL said we had finally found an identity. I guess that's getting changed now.
Just all a bit deflating isn't it.
-
Pass it wide, hope the cross lands somewhere nice.
So readable every game, a team in real trouble and we made it easy for them.
But don't worry we keep possession a little better, fat lot of difference that makes.
Usual City.

Too many passive midfielders too. I think that's more of a problem than the strikers.
Knight, James, TGH, Williams all bring something to the team but no forward drive.
The amount of times one of the Armstrong's or that Alcaraz span our midfield and drove forward shows the difference.

They didn't even look that good, disappointing to lose like that.
Some top players for this division in their squad but thought a few other teams have been better than them against us this year.
Second half, didn't even look like we could pass a ball, what does he say at half time?
First half showed some real good signs, they made some tactical tweaks at the break and we just crumbled.
I don't mind getting beat by better teams but that second half is so deflating.
