He played 99 games at Championship level under the age of 21, he could definitely 'hack it'...

How many of those performances were actually effective though? Him and Adam Nagy were two of the most underwhelming midfield signings in recent memory. I know it’s controversial but I honestly felt he flattered to deceive most of the time.

Han-Noah should be involved tonight in their cup game at Salford.

A chance to shine, though he hasn’t played for over 4 months. They seem to have a big squad so may have to be patient for a PL appearance but it’s a long season.

I’m not really sure why they signed him. He couldn’t hack it at Championship level so can’t imagine he will pull up any trees in the Premier League.

  3. Is this guy not very good, low on confidence, struggling to adapt to a new level or what?

He seems very much a confidence player struggling with his decision making at the moment. It’s a shame as he was transferred with much promise in January and was supposed to be a main target this summer, so he’s had an extra six months to get up to speed ready for this season but it doesn’t seem to have worked.

He’s still young so hopefully in time he will flourish, could use that sooner rather than later though as we are struggling for goals at the moment!

  4. Really enjoyed NP’s answer to the question from the journo in his presser about potentially sending Benarous out on loan, he basically said fat chance why would you just bung someone out on loan when they’ve had the physical and mental toll of recovering from 2 ACL injuries. You can really tell he cares about the players as individuals and their welfare comes first, rather than being used as pawns in a game of chess

  5. Signing players on 8 year contracts will do that for you, so much so that the rules are being changed to only allow teams to spread the amortisation cost over 5 years to close the “loophole” being exploited by Chelsea. It’s risky though because if a player suffers long term injury issues or just isn’t as good as they thought they’re lumbered with the player on a lengthy contract which may make the player difficult to sell

Anyone want to do a quick summary? Since this thread is quiet I’d imagine it was fairly run of the mill ?

Biggest talking point I reckon is that he said even if we sell Scott we won’t be able to sign many more players as we are at the top end of our wage budget already.

He also referred to us looking to sign one more player which I inferred was a goalkeeper (although he didn’t specify that).

The rest of it was the usual stuff but he seemed happy with how things are shaping up.

These types of pre season predictions are commonplace throughout the football industry. I doubt if any serious fan of any club takes them seriously.

    There simply column fillers.

If you can’t think of anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all :)
