  1. Tanner is class. Showed glimpses of ability when he first arrived but seems to be comfortable at this level now. Great bit of recruitment.
  2. West Ham feel he'll go somewhere better than them.
  3. Go abroad and develop into an elite player away from the scrutiny of England. After seeing Bellingham, Sancho and others succeed away from England I don't know why you'd want to move to a big club right away as a young English player. One week he's the best thing England have ever produced and a guaranteed Balon D'or winner, the next he's labelled a donkey and a failure. Go enjoy your football in Germany or Italy and come back as a World Class player.
  4. That's also a huge factor and something I'm not going to pretend I fully understand! If Scott goes for 25m ish in the summer then we'd surely be healthy FFP wise?
  5. We just need to be actual promotion contenders, we're then in a better position to hold on to players. Every club will sell players, although clubs with quality players who are in genuine contention for promotion aren't selling key players every season. We've seen other clubs make decisions on who stays and who goes and the players that they've kept have dragged them over the line to the Premier League. We're a few years away from that though.
  6. He’d still be on more than we would ever have offered him, and with parachute payments they’ll be challenging for automatic promotion while we fumble about in mid table (assuming we stay up). As much as I want them to I can’t see Bournemouth falling into obscurity in the short term, there’s too much money available to relegated Prem clubs to stop that happening.
  7. He’s got quality but there’s a reason West Ham and others decided not to approach. Not been consistent enough, he finds consistency though he’ll be a hell of a player.
  8. Can’t knock him for going, think he’ll be able to carve out a similar career to Bobby Reid. I know West Ham had considered him but ultimately decided he’s not consistent enough.
  9. Haven’t you heard? A centre midfielder is shit if they haven’t scored a goal? That’s the most important measure of a midfielders quality!
  10. Of course we’ve had some good runs mixed in but by and large we’ve not had great results and 3-5-2 appears to have been the predominant formation, although stats may prove me wrong. We’ve struggled to climb up the table for several seasons, and of course there are plenty of contributing factors for that, but 3-5-2 has been one (of many) consistent factors during this run. Turgid may be a tad strong as we did score a lot of goals (whilst also conceding them by the bucket load) with WSM but ultimately we haven’t exactly been drowning in wins in recent years whilst mainly using wingbacks. I’m not a fan of the formation at any level unless you have elite wingbacks for the standard, so maybe personal biases are getting in the way. Its definitely not down to just the formation, it’s just nice to see a fresh idea introduced that appears to have helped the team play at a higher tempo.
  11. That’s your opinion, I personally think there’s a noticeable difference in how we play and it’s what I’d prefer to watch. If you don’t then fair enough, I don’t think it’s a “golden goose” or whatever I just think we play with a bit more purpose and at a faster pace in 4-3-3. I’m not a fan of the 3-5-2 as we seem to struggle to work the ball up the pitch and that’s been my biggest criticism of Pearson. It’s not perfect (nothing is in football) I just prefer it to the formation we’ve stuck with through 3+ years of turgid football. As someone that was just about Pearson Out after WBA I’m pleased with the response from the side and hope this continues. Sorry I’m trying to give the boys some credit!
  12. So much more enjoyable to watch since the switch away from wingbacks.
  13. Moving away from wingbacks was a breath of fresh air yesterday and I hope it continues. We were able to move the ball up the pitch so much faster by having Semenyo and Sykes as readily available outlets to have the ball fed in behind on the floor rather than hoofed up to Conway and Wells. Been needed for a while a nice to finally see it (apologies if that's bleating but this change could have been made earlier in the season when we only had two fit centre backs in the first place).
  14. Fans singing is quite a big part of a matchday though, across all professional leagues around the world. Of course you don’t have to like it but it does seem an odd thing to be dead set against when almost every professional football match has fans chanting during the game.
  15. Doing it consistently. Much improved performance that I think was down to the formation change and this helped the crowd, which then helped the players. If we can play like that for an extended spell we'll be looking up the table not down.
  16. They punished our mistakes, they have quality going forward. We controlled the vast majority of the game.
  17. That’s what happens when we play good football and give the fans something to cheer about! It goes both ways.
  18. Both fullbacks were fantastic today. Much of our good play came through them receiving the ball off Max and feeding in the wingers. Hope we stick with 4-3-3 and kick on, very encouraging performance.
  19. Birmingham didn’t cause us problems all day but that was because of an excellent team performance. Agree about the chant and that was why it died down quickly.
  20. Really good atmosphere today. Both “singing blocks” behind the team the whole match. Very disappointing news for some posters I know but it was a great effort
  21. We need a win today by any means necessary, think it’s going to be a tough ask. Hopefully everyone’s behind the team today.
  22. As a short arse I can confirm you can still see above the heads of those standing in front of you if you want to sit down.
  23. No, we all have one job, which is to support the team. If you’re not happy with S82’s efforts you’re more than welcome to show them how it’s done. If you’re there with your mouth closed for the entire game then you’ve not got a leg to stand on in my opinion. I’m not saying S82 doesn’t have its flaws by the way, but seeing people who don’t do anything to generate atmosphere whine about those that do annoys me.
  24. Some people will never be happy. Moan about S82 not supporting the team, moan that Ashton Gate isn’t a tough place to come and then moan about people moving to a different part of the ground to try and create an atmosphere. All while spending 90 minutes sat in silence. The S82 guys can’t win with some fans.
