  1. Oh yeah he’s got good competition, but to not even get a sniff of minutes really surprises me.
  2. Palmer has surprised me this season. Thought he looked really good in preseason, was covering a lot of ground and was getting stuck in with pressing. Looked good against Fulham at home too, wonder if there's something else going on as to why he can't get a look in.
  3. It isn’t the first time for either of them. Both been suspect when it comes to marking since last season.
  4. He's been on this level for a while now, in my opinion. James has taken a lot of plaudits when he's been fit but Massengo's ability to win the ball and play a progressive pass quickly has been overlooked all season (and before then). The nature of that role means he gets "out of position" and "chases the ball unnecessarily" because that's what he brings to the team. He won't be able to tackle every single player that gets the ball in the middle of the park, that's where he needs a Williams style player to help him break up play and then allow Massengo to progress up the pitch. He puts the fear of god into defenders when he runs at them and he's regularly beating them in one v one situations. Uses his pace really well to slow down, bait a challenge, and then skip past and gain another 10 yards before releasing the ball. Really special player that has the potential to be a top top player one day. I'd make him one of the top earners here if we can shift some deadwood, but appreciate this isn't Football Manager. From a footballing POV he can definitely be part of a promotion winning side a few years down the line and from a business sense a nice long contract means we can get the most for our asset if we choose to let him go.
  5. He's regularly at fault for the goals we concede. If he can improve on his distribution, marking, one on one defending, aerial prowess and positioning then he'll be up to standard, but that's a big ask.
  6. It's unbelievable the amount of people that wrote him off last season. Was clearly an intelligent footballer from the moment he arrived and now he's improved his strength and conditioning he's able to impose himself on games. If we can shift KP/Wells he should be getting a serious pay rise. Tying Semenyo, HNM and Scott down is a now or never situation.
  7. Tidy finish that, nice to see Weimann with the captain's armband too.
  8. Surprising how giving someone game time in their actual position can improve their game.
  9. Still waiting for any action from the Huddersfield game... not sure if it's as big a deal in real life as it is in some people's heads to be honest.
  10. Still waiting for the fine/point deduction/expulsion from the league from the Huddersfield game where the game actually got paused...
  11. Heard one a few weeks ago with "fast as lightning" somewhere in the lyrics. Didn't rate it or the Scott one but I've got nothing better to suggest!
  12. What a player. There's a lot of talk about JET being our most exciting player in recent times but for me it was Albert, was always so consistent in a side that was complete shite. Him alongside Bolasie was one of the best attacks I've seen down City. Not that there's much competition...
  13. It’s certainly moving in the right direction
  14. Same people who will moan about a flat atmosphere or say Ashton Gate isn’t a fortress
  15. Wouldn’t have him back, his best days are behind him. Please stop crying about ex players getting stick. They don’t play for city anymore, Pack got his applause at the end. Don’t get your knickers in a knot
  16. Strange thing to make up and he said on Instagram that “the feelings mutual” when a fan told him to leave. So pretty sure we do know.
  17. Exactly. It also happens up and down the country every week. Not defending it, but the shouts of a point deduction are ridiculous. I agree, and that’s not going to happen either.
  18. No way on earth would we get a points deduction for bottles thrown on the pitch.
  19. Why would we play someone who doesn't want to be here and doesn't work for the team?
  20. James is not in the same bracket as King and Simpson
  21. Didn’t say he played badly, but he’s got no end product which is quite key for an attacker.
  22. He had very few options for the goal either. Terrible pass don’t get me wrong but he didn’t have a clear out. He’s played well again today.
