  1. robins tv...it's never going to be that slick, but surely not walking in front of the camera in the studio at half time is about as basic as it gets? happened several times on wednesday too we're playing a really good side and giving it a good go, working hard, look lively on the break. coyr

    2003-04

There are some cracking videos up on youtube from that era. I wish the club would put more up more from 90s-00s (or earlier!) when they put up footage of a so called "classic match" on twitter/robins tv - much more interesting that what they usually put up. I guess in fairness we don't play Oldham, Chesterfield and Port Vale very often anymore. Was looking through some highlights from 2000-2002 the other day - had forgotten what a player Tinnion was. The range of passing, quick vision, the weight of the ball, absolute quality.
  3. goooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllll
  4. By getting promoted I guess. If Brentford hadn't, Toney would surely have gone (eg. Maupay and Benrahma previously) Grealish is a Villa fan. Described scoring the winner against Birmingham (in the game where he got walloped by a supporter) as "the best day of my loife". Maybe Conway would stay to help us get promoted as a Bristol lad. Not sure about Scott or Semenyo though!
  5. It was like that for me against Luton as well. Pretty annoying. Little things like that do bug me - I also don't like how the commentator was talking about 3 clean sheets in a row when there were about 15 minutes left! Also going on about Rudoni making the jump from league 2, when he was playing at league 1 level last season (albeit in a relegated side). We moan when armchair premier league pundits don't do their homework on anything outside the so-called big six. I expect a bit more from our guys especially when they're charging £10 a go. When you see the quality of non-league coverage on youtube just put together by fans often, it's better than what we get. Got to find something to have a moan about when the team are winning, eh?!
  6. Camera work is noticeably shoddy isn't it - several times in the first few minutes where the camera forgot to follow the ball, often going out of focus or moving too late. Is it a club run thing or EFL? It's all very well having fancy adverts and kit launch videos but I'd prefer we got the basics right. Was advertised as being against Hull City as well
  7. I missed the first half - why was Massengo taken off? Injury? Wondering if Pearson could have done anything differently with the subs. Obviously a good call to bring Semenyo on when he did. You can point to Weimann playing at RWB for a while instead of Wilson but would it have made a difference to the goal? Maybe bringing Klose on for Vyner to see things out (but we brought King on to see things out, and look how that went)
  8. String of poor decisions leading up to their goal. A few poor decisions from when we took the lead from what I could see from the likes of Williams, Dasilva, James, King etc. These are the experienced pros with multiple seasons of experience at this level - it's very disappointing that some of them don't pull their weight as much as the likes of Conway, Semenyo, Scott. Of course the three of them will go on to play at a higher level if they continue the way they are but you expect a bit more solidity from the senior pros
  9. Not just Vyner's fault - he's not innocent, but he was put in trouble by King and Naismith. Don't deserve to win games at this level when you are weak at set pieces and give away goals like that as regularly as we do. It will always hamper our progress. Mistakes happen but it runs deeper with us - there are one or two mentalities that aren't strong enough Would have taken a point before the game though. Away from home, decent side, where we haven't won for ages. Let's hope the manner of it doesn't kill our momentum.
  10. Andy King had two or three opportunities to put his foot on the ball, look forward. What is it with us when we bring on these so called experienced pros to see out a game and they seem to put us under more pressure? Naismith with a shocking pass. Feel bad for Vyner as he made two outstanding blocks earlier in the second half. Shoudl have take him down outside the box
  11. Both us and Luton fined £8500 for failure to control our players. Hadn't the referee lost any sort of control in the moments before the incident? When you don't give the foul against Sykes, what do you expect? Freeman starts the melee single handedly (or with no hands I suppose ad they were by his side). Wonder if Nige's comments have come back to bite us here
  12. Seems to be playing with no fear at the moment. With 20-20 hindsight, it's good that he hasn't been scarred by being thrown in too early last year or the year before. Refreshing to see him play with such enthusiasm. Never stopped running and very direct with the ball, up against two big centre halves but he wasn't bullied at all physically and they certainly didn't enjoy their afternoon
  13. Happy birthday Nige Shares a birthday with my wife coincidentally. Going to be much easier to remember her birthday in future years now
  14. Good cross from odowda for their disallowed goal. Luckily that means he won't do anything else for the rest of the game
  15. Anyone looking to watch on Sunday in London - I'm planning to be in the Selkirk, Selkirk Road in Tooting. Keen to meet some other London reds at some point - usually happy to travel but this Sunday is my wife's birthday and so I'm staying slightly closer to home for this one!
  16. Do you think in the past he hasn't? I agree he doesn't come across as particularly warm or passionate about the club in his interviews in terms of his demeanour, bur maybe thats just his personality! . I don't recall him moaning and he has done a professional job when I've seen him. I'm pleased for him to get a goal tonight . As for the shop window - it would be great to have Wells firing on all cylinders but in reality maybe freeing up his wages in the squad would be better long term.
  17. Very true. But also...if Frank Fielding had just stayed on his line against wolves, we would be in the Premier league now and wouldn't have been been playing Luton tonight, we would never even have signed Mark Sykes, and so he definitely wouldn't have made the challenge. Still it did. Should have known better. Let's hope he learns from it.
  18. Amazing. When asked "is it lack of consistency?" "no, no, no, they're consistently poor". He's been reading otib!
  19. Yes. Started the whole melee really. You can normally tell when a tackle goes in if it's bad because there is a huge reaction from the opposition players but there didn't really seem to be until Freeman kicked it all off
  20. One for the spreadsheet guys: do managers' fines from the football league count against us for FFP?
  21. As far as I could see he didn't do anything wrong tonight, even held the ball up and won a few flick ons. Worked hard, linked up well, a few good touches and took his goal brilliantly. Obviously he'd rather have started a lot more games, and played a lot more up front under previous managers too. Good player signed at the wrong time perhaps but it hasn't really worked for him here. Maybe I haven't seen enough of him to judge (and I like him because I was at the QPR game last year where he got the late winner, one of the few games I've managed to get to!) - but I don't feel as though he's thrown his toys out of the pram or let us down in ways others have. Could he force his way back in? Would you start him on Sunday? Will Nige?
  22. Agreed - we obviously have some limitations, the squad is a bit thin etc. and there will be ups and downs. But what a difference to watch a team that is positive, committed and fighting for each other and the shirt. Fans responded as well. Feel like finally we have something like our team back
