  1. Plenty of things stop us lot following our team away from home, chief among them being our Bristolian can't-be-bleedin-arsed-ism. Them boys down Plymouth going away in their thousands are a disgrace to West Country indifference and not-being-arsed - they'll be there decked in green staring at yer uprights and yer stanchions in their thousands.
  2. That was the Burnley "model" pretty much under Dyche, got them up and kept them up. I think they signed one Belgian lad, but otherwise it was good, solid Brexit Burnleybulldogs what worked for them under Dyche. I reckon Steve referencing the "Luton model" was a smokescreen, it's Burnley under Dyche and his Blighty bulldogs we're attempting to follow now
  3. Think @wtf was thinking Mae West there, Dave
  4. Ffs, all these bleedin questions. Yes, I think so: Wedlock, Cottle, someone else. 19 0 something. England v someone.
  5. I said to my mate: we'd've won that if AD'd've brought him on three minutes earlier instead of dithering as per ....
  6. We were 2 down at Hull at half-time during LJ's wonder-3 months, and he made a bold, dynamic, vigorous triple substitution during the break. But the 3 goals were scored by 3 starters, Flinty, Bobby, Brownhill
  7. Box entries. Not enough, need more. Plus, better simulation
  8. And we had to get two goals in front, just to scrape that one draw (well done LJ)
  9. We would need one of those occasional seasons where at least two of the relegated clubs are in a bit of a mess and loitering in midtable or worse.
  10. But we're only a club losing say 15 - 20 mill not 40 mill (say) because we've sold our best player and not re-invested the money in players. How long will that policy "sustain" 11th to 14th in the Championship? How long will Nige stick around doing that? Maybe Steve thinks "as long as it's long enough for me to sell up/get some return" that's good enough for him. I'd imagine though that most potential investors are bright enough to see through that sort of "sustainability."
  11. Thoroughly enjoying the hoo-ha around all this, only this morning on the wireless there are ex-players suggesting again that ex-players be involved, because they have "played the game." Thing is there, they haven’t ever reffed the game. Most of them - ex-players, current players - appear to have a sketchy knowledge of some of the laws of the game. And there's one fella saying it could be "three or four" ex-players involved at Stockley Park. Imagine that: 3 officials plus a fourth at the game, a couple more at Stockley Park, as well as "three or four" ex-players. Also imagine, if you will, an ex-player of Manchester United overseeing a game at Anfield at Stockley Park - that will sort this out, that will end all the rancour, won't it? Because he will have "played the game." And they used to say, before this technology was brought in: what will we talk about after the game?
  12. I've always thought: when Bristol City get the football right, then I might be ready to think about trying the food there....
  13. I did tell her that I thought it would be at their other, small ground. She's still keen.
  14. My daughter has already asked about going to Arsenal, I reckon there might be enough interest in that one, or I hope so
  15. I trust, Harry, that Joe Bryan is no longer in your "naughty book" now he's not tracking back for Millwall, and they're doing sh*te?
  16. Yeah, bloody disgrace. Had to go back and watch the game .....
  17. I understand he's very adept at co-commentating on matches, and certainly no "turd" choice when it comes to this ....
  18. We got a rugby team here too, so if you can catch a bit and fancy a go in the second row, call P Lam on 0272 648664
  19. "Chievo di merda Brigate Gialloblù, Brigate Gialloblù, Brigate Gialloblù ...... "
  20. The big clubs take thousands away, midweek, the other end of the country - yer Arsenals, Spurs, Chelseas, West Hams, Liverpools, Evertons; Man City & Utd; Leeds; Newcastle, Sunderlands; Sheffield Wednesdays; Bristol Rovers - week after week, year after year. To the same grounds they've already been to, many, many times.
  21. Not quite. After this, he listened to the AG crowd giving LJ some stick - in the middle of LJ setting a new club record for consecutive league defeats - and suggesting Steve get his "Johnson" out, and thought: sod you lot, my money my club, I'm extending Lee's contract.
  22. Fair play to Steve, then. Maybe he "gets" football a little more than I thought ......
