  1. There is a time limit 6 seconds or indirect free kick should be given if longer. It's laughable what refs allow. I don't understand why the crowd don't start chanting the time in seconds to remind the ref and the fourth official can then report the ref for not invoking the rules when it's not adhered to. Fat chance of that happening.
  2. I think a lot of the frustrations have crept in over the past couple of seasons due to seeing how easily our opponent's have been able to move "forward" with ease using slick passing and movement which has been sadly absent from our armoury for a while. With the recent improvements in our capabilities and improved understanding of patterns of play prevelant from the general viewing of games from all the media available there is a tendancy to understand the need to be more patient. Although there's nothing wrong with a long ball under the right circumstances as seen in the recent England game.
  3. Can remember when a guy made a video recording of the lottery draw. Next week he purchased a ticket with the same numbers. That Saturday he gathered the family around the tv and unbeknowing to then played the video. Pandemonium broke out when they "won" the lottery. Never heard how it all ended though.
  4. Sorry, never remember Ronnie as a left back always the tricky midfielder. Always the kid in the playground you couldn't get the ball off.
  5. Can I join in? I played with Julian and Grantley's dad Ronnie for the Venture on a a Sunday.
  6. Wots bikes gotta do wiv it?
  7. Played for Scotland hasn't he or can they swap about at that age?
  8. Alec was a rare right footed left back at City when he was converted from a right back to the left when Mike Thresher retired and Tony Ford came in at right back.
  9. Had a lovely chat with a lady displaying her items at the North Somerset Arts and Crafts Fayre last week. She has a small forge producing some attractive ware that looks as though it would have been affected. Just hope this does not cause her to big a set back.
  10. I catch the X1 that comes from W-S-M and don't find it aproblem.
  11. Please don't keep reminding me of this debacle who heft me the most depressed I have ever been leaving a football ground.?
  12. The application for the "grand designs" proposal next to our house was due to be decided by last August. With no alterations the planning decision was decided in February this year. All due to pressure of work apparently.
  13. Sliders, great won't have to take the granddaughter to the park
  14. Not seen any mention of Bobby Etheridge a wing half who put it about in Mike Thresher's day. He was just dirty, not a hard man, who's language was appalling. Remember back in the 50s watching City train on the car park behind the Grand Stand and every other word was effin and jeffin. He was also Glos back up wicket keeper to Barrie Meyer who came to City via the Gas and Cardiff. He turned to umpiring and holds a rather obscure record as being the only player to score a goal against Man Utd and umpire in a test match.
  15. I imagine he was strictly sticking to orders about positioning and keeping shape and did this well enough. The other aspects like control, passing and tackling etc was all at a pace he is not used to so was a little of game in this respect and the pitch conditions should be taken into account.
  16. From my view in the Dolman thought he should have played Wieman in on his right for a far easier finish.
  17. Can remember when the Black Cat was the Sportsmans Arms and the govenor was Bill "Knocker" Dix back in the 1960s. Roy Savage ran the Princess of Wales up on the top corner of Westbourne Grove. One for the oldies.
  18. Quick solution until it's sorted if ever Subtitles on the big screens. Oh for the days of Dennis Langley. That's one for the oldies.
  19. It was Readers Digest down the socks in the 1950s. Not bought by Mum and Dad by the way
  20. From my view in Dolman E29 I thought he tried to go around O'Leary on the outside but he shinned his last touch and it ran away from him.
  21. They're leading teams because they don't give room
