  1. Did score consistently at the time for Peterborough though, albeit in much more games, but he was scoring more at a higher level, and was still 23. "Oi lads, here's a proper pisstake. I'll post a bunch of sleeping emojis to a fan whose making good points. Huh? Why? Because he's a Rovers fan! They're the enemy! Oh shit, that's not funny. Don't worry, I'll add in it's just white noise. What a comedian I am. Stephen Merchant eat your heart out. THERE'S ONLY ONE TEAM IN BRISTOLLLLLL."
  2. I don't come on here like "alrite imma go on otib and talks aboot how greet the gazheds r nd r cloob is so masif." I talked about the possibility that he would be there for that reason. A city fan switched it onto the topic of Darrell's tenure at Rovers. So essentially even if someone tries to talk rationally about Rovers to me, I'm not allowed to say anything, because it's a "piss take thread?"
  3. We're a million billion miles behind you and have been for years, so I'm not surprised if that's true. Did I mention Rovers being a bigger or better club anywhere?
  4. I'm boring because I spent 2 minutes putting in a couple of quotes from your fans?
  5. But I didn't make this a discussion about Rovers at all. I claimed Darrell might have been there because him or Stewart might have been interested in a possible unknown upcoming vacancy on Johnson's management team. Rudolf Hucker discussed his campaign in League 1 which switched the topic onto that.
  6. The budget wasn't competitive though, WAQ chats utter bollocks. Two transfers of 200k or over (from memory) is no where near competitive, especially considering what teams like Peterborough were spending despite them finishing slightly below us. He wasn't a masterful tactician, no. But he also wasn't anywhere near inept in that sense. It's the only way that you can really compare the two considering that was DH's only managerial tenure. I can see your point though.
  7. It was the pinnacle of his career as a manager. Copy and pasted his name.
  8. It took me 2 minutes, genuinely. Look at the timing of the posts. Or are you assuming that I spent countless hours of quoting City fans, a thing I did to prove what I said.
  9. The pinnacle of Holden's career was 3 wins, 5 draws and 7 losses and getting sacked for Oldham? That's worse? The point is he was still hired to be the assistant coach to a 2nd tier club with that level of experience. And I really don't think coaches and managers are oxymorons, managers coach and coaches manage a lot of the time. The only difference is the manager starts the lineup and has a lot more influence. Jurgen Klopp described his assistant manager Željko Buvač as his footballing brain. Where did I quote someone incorrectly?
  10. Is this not the case? I'll take this thread as an example: "Isn't he the one everybody on here wanted us to sign a year or 2 ago..?" - Bar BS3 "Yeh I seem to remember people mentioning him. He had two good seasons in League Two with Exeter but didn't quite cut it in his first year with Peterborough in League One. Wouldn't surprise me if he did a job at Rovers though." - WRERE "yep and I'm sure some couldn't believe peterborough beat us too him too" - Monkeh "Fair to say The dog botherer is not a bad judge of a player" - Vincent Vega "Not wishing to praise them at all, but Tom Nicholls will be a bloody decent signing for them. Must admit, I'm surprised." - Harry "I hope for their sakes he doesn't turn out to be Dandy Nicholls!" - Swede
  11. What evidence is that shows he's tactically lacking though? Is it his poor performance at Rovers in League 1 (for the last season)? If so why can't you say the same for Holden when he was at Oldham
  12. Everyone knows head coach and manager are interchangeable terms. Does it matter? I'm sure you don't correct City fans if they say "sack our manager." With "um actually he's the head coach not the manager so in this case it'd be `sack our head coach.'" No I was referring to Luke James. But Tom Nichols has never been and will never be Darrell's fault. He missed easy chances and didn't score for months despite the fact he scored 10 League 1 goals in the league that season. He was a great signing on paper. And AT THE TIME, City fans were advocating for him to sign for you. And I assume you're just playing devil's advocate? The success of his career as a manager has far outweighed the failures. Jurgen Klopp got relegated with Mainz (not comparing Clarke to Klopp obviously), but couldn't Liverpool fans have said the same thing? Why would we hire Klopp since he got relegated with Mainz, isn't that ignorant? Because obviously Klopp's success at Mainz and Dortmund far outweighed the bad patches (in Dortmund's case his last season).
  13. I'm not advocating Darrell to be your manager, I'm saying he could be assistant manager to Johnson.
  14. Dean Holden's experience of management is what exactly? Clarke managed a 10th place finish despite losing his best player mid-season and having a striker who scored 0 goals up front with the core of a Conference team. He's a better manager than Dean Holden obviously.
  15. It is, last year they were on May 1st. But then again you could say it's better to have them now just in case we go down.
  16. Darrell for assistant manager is what I meant. And really? I think he's always been take a mid-table league 1 team to the championship get sacked kinda manager. League 1 manager definitely, and surprised he's still unemployed.
  17. Sorry bit of confusion, when I said that I meant Darrell is better than Holden, based solely on Holden's awful performance with Oldham.
  18. Really? Just because he managed Rovers? I could swear having seen a lot of City fans mocking Rovers fans for not wanting Cotterill when Darrell was sacked, genuine question.
  19. Correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't there a rumour he was at Ashton Gate a few weeks after Rovers sacked him, before the end of the year? Stewart's obviously a City fan but I wouldn't be shocked if LJ wanted him or Stewart as part of the management team, highly unlikely though of course, but he is a better than Holden, I think most City fans could agree with that.
  20. Got to admit, the songs are ******* hilarious ?
  21. Yeah but then again we're only 4 years old so you gotta give us until 2052 for a fair comparison!
  22. Remember when I said success is subjective? And I'm always seen the trophy cabinet as a weird flex from City towards Rovers, yes yours is a lot better but that's not hard as we haven't really won anything significant yours is really not impressive whatsoever. 1 2nd tier and 4 3rd tiers with 3 Johnstone Paint Trophies. Compare that trophy cabinet to a club like Leeds or Sunderland or Nottingham Forest or Sheffield United etc. Hell, you haven't won the first division. Of course yours is much better than Rovers but that's like making fun of the guy who ran a 100 metre dash in 40 minutes because you could do it in 20 minutes. Subjectively yes you're faster but in the overall picture, it's awful. I've just always thought you as a club have SO much more material you can go over than the number of trophies won, just my opinion though.
  23. The non -league days aren't included in this timeline. We got promoted and had our highest finish this century I believe, subjectively for Rovers we've been successful 2015-18
  24. With how shit Rovers have been for the last decade, I don't think it's unreasonable to say that back to back promotions and 3 finishes in League 1 (hopefully with 0 relegations) is good for Rovers' standards. It's easy to say "Ooh you're easily pleased." But football success is subjective, your club have been successful in recent years, but couldn't the fans of Manchester City or Chelsea or Bournemouth say the exact same thing to you, no? Not going to respond to the rest of it as of course as a rival fan you're going to say Rovers have the most deluded fans in the world, any rival fan would say the same thing about their rivals. So yes compared to you our success probably shite, but yours is compared to other clubs so don't see that as much of an argument. Hell, in Scotland there's a team called Fort William who are on -7 points this year. Yes, MINUS 7. They must celebrate whenever they get a draw. At least I'm not a Fort William fan is the motto I think i'll live by!
